Hi there, I usually dont post much. But I've been thinking lately , although I would say there are alot of ladies using MT. There are still many ladies that wont give in, its obvious it works. Besides healthy hair alot of us are here for length, so why not try MT. Whats holding YOU back, I really would like to know, just curious.:drunk:

just not into growth aids. it's not that serious for me. would rather wait for my scalp to naturally do its thang.

being so concerned about growth takes the fun of haircare away for me.

It took me from May 2007 to September 2008 to reach APL blunt cut (included maybe three inches of trims) and that is fine with me. BTW I'm about 6 feet tall.

I have wanted to try MT for months now. Availablity held me back for a hot minute. I'm in Italy and I just thought there was no way I was going to rack my brain trying to get MT here:look:.

Well, last week vallyvet.com dlivered it right to my APO Box .

I don't think that I need to use it. Plus I'm not a fan of anything on my scalp nor changing products. The stuff I use now gets the job done. Length will come. I enjoy my hair at every stage of growth. i'm not in a hurry to have any length of hair.

I have seen impressive progress pics, but I don't want to end up dependent on a particular product in my hair care. The more success I have with conventional hair care now, the more I know I can maintain my hair in the long run.

I might try it later though if I think it would get me to my "dream goal".

I second that my hair grows without growth aids. My hair doesn't need it to grow. It may grow a little slower but I'll still get there someday.

I think this is the case for me. I have tried growth aids and I have gotten an increase in my growth rate to the point where I have to relax more often. I don’t need to relax more often! I think my hair need more time between relaxing. Even my mind needs more time between relaxing – I get stressed out when it is that time.

I would not mind trying Megatek as a protein treatment because the ingredients look great for that. I like that the 2nd ingredient is keratin and that it has no silicone. I would try it for that if it weren’t so expensive. I think I can find cheaper protein treatments.

Anyway, I am pretty happy with my hair and what it is doing for me right now. It grows well. It would be longer if it weren’t for my own mistakes not because of lack of growth – I need to concentrate more on working that out right now anyway.

I don't think it works...:look: I've yet to see any progress pics that made me WOW!

What she said and every season it's another product that "is da truf" and no one yet has ankle length hair from all of the growth aids that have come through here. I promise you in another couple of months, it will be another product that will grow hair in 4 hours. Until i see even one member that was bald and used a growth aid and is now ankle length, I won't believe it.

I haven't used it yet because I have a million other growth aides in my room, so once those are gone, I might try it

FYI - It's not only online order. People can purchase it from local stable shops.

I've called every stable shop in my city none of them have it. I'm sure some cities do not have stable shops in them so for some of us it is online purchase only.

i dont believe in it. or any other growth aide....and plus doesn't it stink?...u wont catch me walking around with a smelly scalp all in the name of an extra 1mm of growth. its not worth it for me

1. I don't want to put any chemicals on my scalp.

2. It doesn't work. Like other people said, I haven't seen anybody go from NL-WL in a year, though according to their "progress pics" the growth rate they're getting would suggest that.

The progress pics most of the time aren't even right (ie measuring a different part of the hair, first one dry second one wet, etc.). Also, all of the progress seems like normal growth you'd get just by taking care of your hair more diligently, which is usually the case with people who start using a growth aid.

3. Hair grows on its own. My body doesn't need any extra help to do what it's supposed to do and what it's going to do anyway. I want to know that I reached my goal naturally. If everybody is using growth aids like MT then we're just proving that black women need something "extra" in order to have long hair, they can't just do it on their own.

4. It's way too much money. Even though I can afford it, I can't justify purchasing it, especially right now.

ETA: Just to be clear: these are MY personal reasons for not using mt on MY head.

I don't have a beef with Mega-Tek because it works for me. It SMELLS GREAT! Expecting any growth aid to get you to ankle length is naive. I see a lot of happy people using Mega-Tek and that's the only thing that matters. If anyone does not want to use it then don't use it! More MT for me! Honestly the more people that use it means that the prices go up so yeah it stinks and it doesn't work. :spinning:

I just started using it regularly for the last month and I have to admit this is the first aide that has worked on my hair. In 4 weeks I had to re-do my cornows because so much hair had grown that I couldn't see my scalp anymore. I normally redo my cornrows every 8 weeks.

No one really needs to use MT, I chose to use it because I wanted to reach a certain length and needed to strengthen my hair with a really good protein conditioner. After using Aphogee and Cathy Howse this product is superior. If you are happy with the products you use do not feel like you need to use MT because there is so much pressure right now on these boards. I see there is a misconception about MT that needs to be addressed. MT is more than a growth aid, it actually strengthens and thickens the hair shaft. Many people want longer length results right away and this product will do that for them depending on how they use it. But if that is not your concern then don't waste your money or contribute to increasing MT prices. Please!:ohwell:

:lachen: Why would you expect to have NL to WL in one year? MT does not make that claim nor should the users expect that to happen. The progress pictures that I've seen have been impressive. So I guess Black women shouldn't use anything to help them with shine, softness or strenghtening just because we are afraid that proves we can't do it on our own. Come on. :nono: People of other races use MT as well by the way, not just Black women. Has it occured to you that maybe those women of other races ARE using growth aids to reach those longer lengths? :spinning: I've never used a growth aid and MT should not be considered solely a growth aid it gives the hair other benefits that contribute to obtaining longer lengths like strenghtening the hair so that there is less breakage. It thickens, thin fine hair making it look fuller. It doesn't work for everyone but it works for me. And it's been a great investment.:yep:

Well actually I don't think it's a growth aid but we use it as such. It has a lot of natural ingredients in it that is good for the overall health of the hair and so I use it like a protein treatment as a result now. I do not apply to my scalp anymore. Not to mention the scent is awesome. I have noticed a marked difference in thickness and that's good enough for me. The length is there but hey, my primary aim is more thickness over length and the length is just a bonus for me:yep:.
