Ladies,

Its been so hot/humid in the UK for a few weeks now ( I am not complaining:grin: )

But I just cant seem to keep my hair moisturised, and it wont say straight it curls up like its damp. I may need to up the times I wash it. But i dont really want all the extra manipulation.

Whats are you doing, I have got this extra length and now I have change to show it off it just aint behaving

I sleep in bantu knots and finger comb them out and wear my hair down (wavy) in the day, my scalp sweats alot in the heat so the straight styles don't last very long.

I am glad I am not the only one that cant keep a straight sytle, I think I will have to try a curly sytle and see how I get on.

I cant remember the UK been so hot in years

I live on the East Coast and the humidity here is insane. I don't even bother trying to do any kind of straight style in the summertime. Heck, even curly styles don't really hold all that well.

I'm just keeping it simple with braidouts, buns, and ponytails.

I'm wearing it pinned up. It's basically a ponytail wrapped around till it looks like a bun. I prefer to wear it up most of the time and the summer months are no different. I'd rather be cool than cute.

The lacefront unit will be here any day now so i plan on braiding mine up and leaving it alone (thank God). I just hope the unit isnt too hot for this GA heat :(

buns, buns, buns and more buns! I move them around my head every couple of days (top, low back, mid-back, right side, left side, mid-left side, etc.!!)

I adorn my buns with gorgeous gemstones and crystal hairsticks that sparkle and gleam in the awesome Atlanta sun . . . .

I just got my t/u 2 weeks ago and just been enjoying it wearing it straight. (since it was pinned up most of the time during my 6 month stretch!! )

Hadn't had too many probs. cause I am in a building all day that's too darn cold anyway, but after this week, I will just be wearing it in a bun, which for some strange reason, I don't mind right now:confused:

Girl I have already told them when I find that room with the meat they have hanging up, they are going to have to sell me some at discount!!! I have a heater at my desk AND wear a jacket every day and the cold is just mind-numbing!!

I don't wear straight styles. If I wear my hair down during hot, humidity, it's in a braidout so my hair can work with the humidity. I use Aveda Anti-Humectant which helps a lot but even my waves from the braidouts don't stay in that well when it's very hot and humid.

I'm still perfecting this and may learn some new things as I read this thread. I also wear buns, ponytails and braided updos.

Neroli, I wear gemstone/crystal hair sticks too (that I made)!!:)

Co Washing and Protective Styles.
*For those who wear there hair down during the summer, I know you wanna wear it up, it's hot as hell just about everywhere!!

I live on the East Coast also. The humidity is unreal! I don't know how to style my hair in updos :ohwell: I need to learn some new styles. I may just start going to my stylist for updos this summer.

Does anyone know of any wesites with pictures of updos? I really need some ideas.

I am wearing Buns, rollersets. I may try a bantu set this weekend! (oh lawd don't let me look like a dang fool!

PS: any dollar store is good for cute hair gems, sticks, flowers, accessories to wear in your hair! :clapping: :clapping: :clapping:

I wear it up in a sock bun after either a CW or poo.

I may have to check out the dollar store for some cute hair accessories now!

Now I wear a protective style my hair is in braids, yes it's very hot here too but not very humid so I will try to blow dry and flat iron my hair by july , I didn't try the heat style since august 2005 (I'm excited because i will see my real lenght:grin: )!!!

I CW daily and let it air dry however it pleases. Yesterday I did a bun. I do ponytails also. I pretty much do whatever feels right for the moment.:)

LOL I do too...it will be 80 outside and 40 inside. Then ppl probably wonder why I have a jacket with me when its damn near 90 outside.

It's pointless for me to try to keep my hair straight in the humid weather. I just do wash n' go's.

It is very hot here. I am just keeping my hair in Braids until the end of Summer. I have also been sleeping with a plastic cap on my at night to keep my hair moisturized

You MAKE your own!! Wow. I purchase from variety of places, cheap ones to knock around in and the more expensive elegant ones for extra special occasions. Are you making yours to sell or just for personal use? Do you sand and smooth out the sticks yourself? Where do you get the sticks? So many questions . . .

Once a year or so, I shop at gem & mineral shows or stores where a wide variety of crystals, gemstones and other semi-precious stones can be purchased rather inexpensively.

I buy the sticks already made (like inexpensive Claire's sticks or even better -- pretty chop sticks) and modify them using hobby and jewelry-making supplies from places like Michael's and JoAnne's. It's fun! I've made barrettes like this too a few years ago (before LHCF) but I no longer find the kind I used safe on the hair.

Oh, I've made these for myself. I feel anyone can make these and other hair toys. :yep:

I wear it straight mostly, the humdity adds a little texture and fullness but usually it's okay. When it gets really unbearable I clip the front back and leave the back hanging down or wear it in a pony tail.
