I guess the permed ends weighed the natural hair down, so I didn't expect it to be as tightly coiled as it is...
I transitioned for a year, I wish I had gone longer.

ITA I think it's the shock talking. Once you find your new products to make the curls pop and you gain more length I think you'll feel better about it. You may hate it but I think it's awesome.

I think you and your hair look pretty as is. But anyway I remember people saying that they don't see the true texture and definition until after a couple of washes, not just initially after the cut. Just give it a little time to get to know your hair better. And congratulations.

First, congrats on your BC. Your hair looks fine. Although i'm not natural, my sister is and when she wears her natural hair, its neck length, when straightened its past APL. Don't let that shrinkage get you down. Your hair is beautiful.

You look beautiful! don't fret. Initially it is a shock...as time goes on...you will find that what you get when u initially BC is not how your hair is in a few months. My hair is much different now about 5 months in than it was when it start. Your hair is also in shock. Just continue giving it TLC and find the products that work for you. Right about now...fotki is your best friend. It is a great way to learn about techniques and products. I personally think your texture is beautiful. As are you!

Your hair is beautiful! It's all about styling! Wet it, put plenty of conditioner in, twist the curls with your fingers, add some gel...and see how it turns out!
