I dont know if I can make it.. Im itching to go buy a relaxer kit :look:

my siggy says how long its been

I'm 7 months exactly today! I'm so happy because just last year I telaxed after 7 months of transitioning and this time I have NO desire at all to texlax and it is smooth sailing! No BC until my 2yr mark March 7, 2010! Good luck yall!

Alrighty It's been about 2 years and 2 months since I last tex-laxed.

Checking in again, 51 weeks post and it's going great.
I am over my "I hate my hair' episode.
Every now and again I get hair-depressed, so I flatironed my hair.
HATED IT! I washed my hair and fell in love with it again.
So, I'm staying on the narrow path and going for year 2!!!

Congrats, ladies! Keep it going. I'll be 11 mos next Monday and I'm cool. I've been getting the itch to texlax and lighten my hair in a few places lately but I'm trying to hold out. The color thing just might happen though ...to be continued...

Oct 20th will be my one yr. anniversary.

This is like the 5th time that I've transitioned. I actually cut all of my relaxer out. Couldn't stand the 2 different textures. Keep in mind that I'm transitioning w/ a half wig. Easier for me to do it this way.

MegaTek sure has helped my hair grow back a lot quicker. Its already to the bottom of my neck with no relaxer.

3 months post here! My last relaxer was a texlax so that makes the transition easier I guess. I have no plans to BC anytime soon either!

22 months post (December 4th will make 2 years), and counting. I LOVE KERATIN. All of the manageability of a perm with NO COMMITMENT - woooo hooooo

Newbie her to the transitioners forum. (Silent lurker) I am currently 17 weeks post and so far this is the longest I have transitioned. The 1st time I went natural i transitioned for 3 mos and BC. I plan to transition for 1.5 to 2 years or till my natural hair is apl stretched. Currently rockn a net weave but I am itchin for somethin different. What styles have you ladies been using to get u thru such long transitions?

Hmmm...are your straightening very often? I'm at 11 1/2 mos and it's getting interesting. Do you look specifically for products containing keratin? What are some examples? I'm just trying to fight the urge to texlax again.

I was referring to the formaldehyde free, much weaker version of the BKT. I've posted on most of those threads about how wonderful it is. If ur itching to relax - its the best compromise - same feeling of texlax accept it only lasts two months. You never lose any curl definition, but straightening is a breeze. i dont straighten often though - maybe once every month or two. When it comes to actual shampoo and conditioner, i just apply conditioner like a relaxer and it seems to be working.... but come to think of it - i really do like a conditioner that has keratin in it - Joico.

What is BKT? Oops...No problem, I am searching through previous threads now. Thanks

3 months......HERE
third or fourth time round.... Looking for a buddy in my same time frame so we can:

*Discuss struggles and successes
*Give ideas on how to transition our mind, look, fashion etc.....along with our future "naturalness" What works for you, Tell ME!!
*Motivate and not allow one another "failure"
*Big Chop'n late 2009!

Looking for a buddy with patience & determination such as mine..I'm not on the board much for anything other than staying motivated!!

U out there, let's buddy up and keep it movin for the 2008/09 transition and beyond! the more the merry, just the same time frame and goal

contact me, I'm ready!

I'll check in. I'm 13 months post. I started from a short cut. My sides have about 4 inches of relaxed hair that I'm not ready to chop. My ponytail is my crutch. The back is natural. This makes for interesting detangling sessions.

Not sure if I posted here before, so I might be checking in again . I'm about 14-15 months post, and I plan on doing the BC once it gets warmer. For now, I'll be doing sew-ins/wigs/etc.

I'm 12 months post. I have about 5 inches of relaxed hair left (will continue to trim every other month or so for now).

I'm currently 22 wks post and it hasn't been that bad. Due to a surgery a lot of my hair has shed so I don't have to deal with the thickness that I had when I transitioned 2 years ago. (HELL!) Hopefully the hair will start to grow back so I can get my beloved afro. I usually comb once a week and wear buns or cornrows under a fall. That seems to be the easiest way because I also hit the gym everyday.

yeah i'm late w/ it. who's gonna read all the way to this page? lol
so far i'm only 6wks in....that's more like a stretch than a transition, lol

Don't know if I'm in here yet...

I will be 10 months post on Election Day. I don't know when I will BC...but I know it will be while it's warm..so either this coming summer or the one after that. :yep:
