About a month ago, I broke up with my SO:cry3:. He absolutely loved my hair. For some reaon, the first thing I had the urge to do was relax cut and color my hair? Is it just me?:perplexed

Nope, it's not just you.

I feel that we are trying to get over him, move on and start fresh... that means having a hot new look.

Take it easy for the next few weeks, don't do anything drastic...

He's not worth it to do something that you may regret.

Hope you feel better soon! :bighug:

No it's not just you. I know I did something similar and when I went back to my hairdresser she told me don't take out my frustrations out on my hair again and that so many women do it. Just don't do anything until you are level headed, women have a tendency to take out the frustrations on life on their hair.

Nope, not just you. When my ex and I broke up I was thinking of doing all kinds of crazy things. I had been natural for a couple of years so I wanted to run out and relax. Then I thought of just cutting my hair completely off. Just wanted to try and have some control over something I guess.

Thank goodness I'm not impulsive because I would have regretted doing both at the time and for that reason.

Wow, I had the split second urge to cut to when me and my boyfriend split. Although I did not cut it, I had the worse shedding I've ever had in my life lol

I have to admit, I've never changed my hair after breaking up with a person. Breaking up with a place, however, as I think back, has seemed to be the linchpin in each time I radically changed my hair. Most interesting.

yup, you're not alone. when my first real boyfriend dumped me, i told myself that i'd grow my hair as long as possible, and make him jealous. this was back when i was neck length. now i'm at where i'm at now, and i can't keep him out of my life! lol!

i don't think i'd ever let any guy leave an impact on my life so deep that i'd consider cutting my hair.

Let the church say AMEN!!! I might do some crazy stuff like eat two whole pizzas and buy up 1/2 the mall... but I would NEVER cut my hair over a dude...shoot..how you gon get the next dude... lol <<kidding>> It would make me grow hair with a vengeance... like the next time you see me I'mma have locks like Kenya Moore...and you're going to be droolin...:lachen:

Wait sorry... I was having a flashback... yeah don't cut your hair...

Well lucky for him I had braids and impulse control at the time or he'd be replacing a windshield.

Umm hello.... yup!! LOL! That makes me laugh because on XM satellite they have this bit they call "stalker" and it says instead of going into your ex girlfriend's yard and ripping her tires..pull up behind her and flatten your own tires...that way she still can't go anywhere... it cracked me up... I wish a ***** would do that... just like a man to try to be smart...lol...

Haha, a break up in the past MADE me want to grow out my hair. I know this sounds silly, but it made me want to take this journey. I decided to go natural and grow out my hair. It made me feel like it was something I could control and I knew that when the hair grew out, he'd gravitate towards me, and as silly as it sounds, we got back together (I doubt because of my hair) and he loved my hair.

Nope it's not just you. I was the same way until I realized the pattern. What the heck does my hair have to do with what is really going on??
Break the cycle my sisters:yep:

OMG!! That is CRAZY!!:lachen::lachen:

I know a friend that relaxed her hair, once her boyfriend broke up with her.

I know some people cut their hair or do something drastic to it because they believe hair holds on to bad mojo. I thought about cutting my hair once during a bad breakup, but I didn't. However, I think the stress behind it cause me have some bad shedding and breaking.
