When I wore short hair would always have my hair cut first then relax (on the same day).

Now that my hair is growing I don't know if I should cut it first then relax or relax then cut it.

I feel like if I relax it first it will be the most current length and I won't have to cut anymore. But I'm afraid if I cut then relax then it won't be the most accurate indication of length and I'll have to cut some more.

What do you think?!?!?!

Thanks in advance for your help!

I don't know if it matters, but my stylist always relaxes first then trims.

IMO id relax first then trim after... causing less manipulation right before the relaxer

You should relax first. That way your hair will be stretched enough so you can get a more accurate cut.

And, if you cut with new growth, unless your roots are pressed straight, you'll most likely end up having to cut off more, afterwards, to even it out.

May I ask....why are u cutting your hair?...your ends look great! :yep:

^^^^ I was wondering the same thing. Be careful not to cut/ trim off your progress.

I want layers...it's in no style right now and I'm getting tired of the back looking so blah!

I trimmed my hair 2 weeks before I relaxed. I couldn't tell it had been trimmed after I relaxed. For me I trimmed because I was just peeved. It is even though.
