As someone who actually uses OCT, i respond "Yes, it's worth it"...down to the last drop.
There's only a few things in life I'm not cheap with...my hair is one. I do alternate it with MT now...but I'll never stop using OCT.

I have only been using it for about a week. I just found out about this too.

:lachen:

I thought you were using it for months. Give it longer then maybe you will want to switch it up. :lachen: I am using MT and it has given me thickness first then length. I think when we see ladies talk about the success they have been having there is a tendency to want to join in on it even if we have already made the moves in that direction. I was tempted to buy some OCT because I long for length NOW. But even with OCT the length will not happen overnight. You will have success with both and if you read through the treads you will see MANY success stories with MT.

Reading through the threads made me realize that MT does work. I can't stress it enough please please read through the treads to help you with the doubts that you are having. It helped me. :yep:

Mandy,

EQyss owns DC Labs which makes both MT & OCT. They are essentially the same product. Ovation is the same as the equine line but packaged to make people more comfortable using it. I was going to start a thread but I did a LHCF search and found other threads where this is discussed. If I were to try this, I'd get the MT first because it costs less and if I did not like the results or see progress I'd get the OCT but not the entire line, just the one product. Good luck whatever you choose.

Here is the link for Ovation where they tell consumers who they are and what they make:

Thanks for the info. I know that these two products are made by the same people, but based on the threads on here, it seems like most of the ladies are experiencing more growth with OCT and more thickness with MT. Anyway, thanks again for the info. I think I will stick with my MT. The growth will come eventually

I know, I know...I need to give it more time. It's the PJ in me.
I have read through the threads and I continue to do so any chance I get. Anyway..I think I will stick with MT for now.:yep:

I was in the same boat as you. My hair is already naturally thick, so I was wary about getting MT.. but with S&H and the high price of OCT (Esp. from the US to Canada.. I know how your feeling :drunk:) it was a little overwhelming for me price-wise. Although you said you weren't looking so much into thickness, if you don't want to spend TOO much.. MT may be your best choice if you want something effective and inexpensive:blush:.. I got it at hopesbraids.com and paid in total $31.00 CAN for the product and S&H.

HTH, all the best..

P.S. If anything keep searching.. and if you find somewhere that sells OCT where the S&H isn't outrageous to Canada... make a post.. it'd be greatly appreciated

I opted for MT because I am cheap but I am sure glad I did. I got thickness first month and a half and then the growth came. I love my thickness. My hair is now growing at .75-1 inch per month @ $30 a pop, now that's a good deal.

So, I finally got in touch with dc labs to see if I could order some OCT (I had trouble doing it on their site). They sent me a paypal money request and with shipping the bill came to......:band2:

$96.50
:burning:
Lawdhavemercy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Should I be spending this much money on this stuff? I mean.... I have seen the results and everything, but..........
DH will kill me for sure......If I buy it then I will have to come up with a very good explanation for it:wallbash:
What you ladies think?
is it true ladies that Aphogee 2 min reconstructor has the same ingre as ovation? I thought I read it somewhere on here forgive me if I am not correct

There is a thread about it. Essentially they do have the same ingredients but in different amounts/ratios. That is why Aphogee does not give the same results as Ovation and vice versa.

I say no and here's why:

~1st you haven't given your MT long enough to work before thinking of trying a new product and that would be a waste of your money (I myself have been thinking about getting MT although I already bought a bunch of BeeMine this summer when it was on sale). I decided I cannot buy MT until I finish my BeeMine it's just a waste of my hard earned money and I'm not rich!

~2nd only you and your husband know the depth of how hard you work to earn your finances. Hair growth will come - after all you have some growth aides and most importantly knowledge of how to care for your hair. Ask yourself is this product worth a horrible fight with my husband? Is it worth the x amount of hours i had to work to afford it. And what if I find something else in a few months I like more (e.g. for me a cashmere long cardigan)? I then won't be able to justify those purchases after having bought such and expensive product.

~Also this product is not very large - i have seen both MT and OCT work on the women on these boards so I don't think the difference is really worth the strife that this purchase will cause you right now. If it's that important to you put a dollar in a jar everyday that you stay on task with your hair routine including the use of your current aid. When you reach $100 then you can send away for your product. I really hope this helps you decide :yep:

Hey, thanks a lot for saying this because I've had this constant nagging thought in the back of my head that I need to get OCT. I'm doing MT and yes, the thickness is for real! But I haven't seen my hair sprout out like I'm wanting. I keep saying to myself to be patient and it will come. I began using MT on August 21 and I've gotten half an inch in almost all areas... So I guess that's good.. But of course we all want more.. I will continue to be patient!

Wow, okay, so I"m defniitely going to be patient! Maybae the hair has gotta be jump started at first! LOL and then off and away it goes to growing like crazy. Thanks for postinng this! You guys are certainly saving me money!

I'm using MT. I've never used OCT, but I got results right away just like everyone else with Mega-Tek. I don't see the need to spend that much, either.

Thank you so much for this post. It is very helpful. DH has been good about my PJism, but my PJ days are numbered. I gotta take this into my hands now!

Thanks, this is helpful.

I will say this. The reason why OCT is geared toward humans because its suppose to be more gentle on the hair. Plus it comes with a 3 step system versus the animal stuff that has a bagillion different products. I have MT but I cant use it more than once a week on my scalp because it shifts towards my hair and causes it to become hard. ( I did talk to a representative of the company and she said that OTC will cause hair the to feel hard also. And in order to help stop this I needed to use the creme rinse) Also people have souped up MT to make it more suitable. So if you have time, money, and resources to modify MT to your likings then do so. Just don't make those cost higher than buying the OTC. See if I bought the cloud 9 creme rinse and the botanical shampoo i could have just gone ahead and bought the OCT maximizing kit or at least the small kit.

I do have to say that it does seem to work. It helped my slow growing front catch up with the rest of my hair while using it. Once I stopped it when back to doing the same old same old. I would much rather use this on one of my horses because they can probably stand the keratin more so than I can. Maybe I'll try it again but I would love to try the OCT system.

Thanks for your review, appreciate it.

I would say that OCT is worth the money, because it is a very good product, although I use Mega-Tek and that is very good. I would also like to use OCT line also. OCT is probably the price of a weave. I am not sure of your finances with your husband, maybe you could put money aside for it. At one time, I used an expensive line of hair products, and they were wonderful. I would suggest, you use the Mega Tek and get full use of it, and in the meantime, put money aside for it, then get the OCT.

This thread was very informative! I dare not read the other ones b/c its just too big. This thread helped my see the benefits of MT and OCT. I'm on the hunt for some MT and hope I can find it locally.

Could someone explain how you use it?

TIA

i was wondering about oct as well, but honestly i ask myself with a hubby and kids could i really afford it. I have been a member here for awhile and have jumped on alot of bandwagons, only to switch to another. I use mt right now, im not sure about growth yet. I was not really looking for thickness but since these products do cause shedding then thickness is not that bad. Im glad you have decided to stick with mt. Just because a product is more expensive dosent mean its better. Im a pj as well, but now i have to think if my hubby went out and spent 100 on a new tool, or something, I would be pissed. I have bought soo many things just for it to sit in a collection in my closet.

If you really want oct, just wait until tax time. By then mt should have shown what it is going to do for you.

Hi Ladies

I used the MT and OCT , I started MT 9/11/08 and OCT 10/1/08 I have notice thicker in my top and middle area of my hair , and my edges are getting fuller. I like them both , and they are working for me. My hair grows very slowly so it may take me longer to have fuller hair then other . As for the length I have always had short to medium length hair , so I not concern if it grows longer , just want thicker and healthy hair . I have very thin fine hair. I think you can use any one of them and received the same results. I use MT daily , because it cheaper and I can purchased where I live. and OCT I put it directly on my bald spots area daily maybe a quarter size amount. I also purchased the cream condition of MT and mixed MT and OCT and cream condition in a squirt bottle. Cream condition cost only $10.00, I got three bottles . You just have to make what works best for your budget. Be blessed and have a good day ladies.

Your welcome, I understand your curiosity of OCT. I am just getting over my curiosity although I occasionally think about how much more growth I could get with OCT. I wasn't seeing any new growth. Last week I curling ironed my hair straight and WOW!!!  :drunk: :yep: :spinning: My hair looked fabulous. All I could think about was how I reminded myself of Cousin It. The sides of my hair that use to barely touch my shoulders are now past my shoulder and catching up with the rest of my hair. And I have MT to thank for that as well as keeping my hair moist and ends protected with castor oil. Since that day I know I made the right choice with MT. Vitamins, frequent exercise including yoga helps because it gets the blood pumping and blood flow to the scalp. A healthy body will produce more hair growth. :yep:

Now if someone said here is a bottle of OCT for only $2-20, I will jump on it. But if not I'm happy with MT.

I say go to all the boards and leave a thread stating your case, who knows you may get lucky. :yep:

:look: And oh, put in a good word for me too. :perplexed

girl, christmas is around the corner.....i've bought some...as a gift for me. at least that's my excuse/reason.
i bought the system including an extra bottle of oct.

I've purchased OCT numerous times this year and have never paid 96.00 with the shipping. (I only buy the cell therapy)
I've never tried MT but I've heard a lot of good things about it.

Not unless it comes with a lifetime supply. I go through way too much conditioner to start dropping a few hundred dollars on one product.
