Is anyone a ride or die....???

i LOVE the texture of my new growth, but seeing my sister struggle with her natural hair (though she still hasn't found the right products or techniques in dealing with it) really has discouraged me from going totally natural. that, combined with the fact that i'm trying to grow my hair as long as possible, keeping it presentable without too much damage. sure i could transition without ever actually BCing, but the two textures would be fighting constantly, and it'd require too much manipulation to keep them both looking presentable.

and i could never BC, i went through entirely too many episodes with scissor happy stylists to ever survive another "chop".

so i'll be relaxed for quite a while :yep:

I'm staying relaxed forever....I like the look and I refuse to go back....there are just way to many styles out there, I style haven't tried yet. So I plan to stay relaxed.

i don't see why not go natural? but i'm not all the way there so i guess it determines how well i can manage it and get the look i want. But i see so many naturals that i know in real life that straighten there hair all the time and it looks really healthy and gorgeous. And when they wear it curly it's not damaged and fried like you'd expect. So i figure if i want straight hair all the time it'll be possible, and if i can eliminate the relaxer out of that, why not? I never did love relaxers. I just have weird feelings about things like that that are a MUST for my hair to look good. Plus it was just weird one day when i saw older women in their like 60's - 70's at the hair salon getting a relaxer..yea i did not want that to be. Still calling up my stylist every 3 months for a touch up, and i don't trust stylists anymore, and i don't trust myself to learn how to do a relaxer on my own head. So yea, that's just me. But i'm not knocking anybody for keeping the relaxer. It's just i'd rather go natural right now, rather than later and being like "man if i had only done this 2 years ago i would of had a head full of natural hair"

I am. :raises hand: Mizani Butterblends is MBD fa sho.

I looooooooooooove the natural heads on here. I love gawking IRL. I've been there and it's just not for me. Don't get me wrong, I love to play in my new growth but with 3 different textures ( 3d-4a/4b/Rosemary's Baby) it ain't gonna work. :lachen:

I'm Ride or Ride! I think I'll always be relaxed. I don't ever see me going natural. I'm here because I wanted, no, needed to learn how to care for my relaxed hair. My sister is natural and has a beautiful head of hair, and I hope she never relaxes it. But I like straight hair and wouldn't want to struggle trying to make it straight all the time. Say what you will about me. Call me a euro-centric-self-afro-loathing-whatever. I'm not trying to be white. I just like straight, swinging hair.

If you hada asked this before my knowledge of this forum i would of said no but with the coveted information that i have and my arsenal of hair products i can honestly say ride or die relaxed .........

I was natural for a few years and I am glad that I had the chance to experience my hair's natural hair texture but right now I am really enjoying being relaxed and don't plan on going natural again anytime soon.

Im a ride or die relaxed head....until I have children then I probably transition. Short hair compliments my face well so I dont know rocking an ear or chin length style for a few months.

They call it creamy crack and I am addicted. :lachen: I just like the benefits of relaxed hair. I remember the nappy days and I can't go back to that.

Girl and me relaxers don't have a age limit. I will be 65 retouching my own silver bsl hair. I get a taste of natural everytime I stretch and that's enough for me.

Mizani Butter Blends has me wanting to relax forever! I'm actually texlaxing now but I'm not giving up of my Mizani ever!!! LOL!

I have mixed feelings about it. Some days I think that I will natural again at some point, others I just don't know.

I probably will someday, just have to get myself mentally ready to do a very long(years) transition. That's the only thing that really stops me.

I'm fairly certain that I will be a ride or die relaxer chick! If not forever, then definitely for a loooooong time. I vividly remember my natural days (didn't get a relaxer til teens), and I do not plan on going back there anytime soon! Plus I'm trying to get back into seriously working out and I don't need any excuses for it. Being relaxed is so much easier for me and my hair type. I don't enjoy fighting with my hair. :nono: Plus I like the versitility of relaxed/texlaxed hair. I think you can do way more styles with it. :yep:

As of right now I can say that I'm very satisfied with being relaxed. My hair is strong, healthy, and it's growing as it should. I don't relax frequently (every 4 months) and the longer my hair gets the longer I plan on stretching (hopefully 6 months). If I do go natural it will only be after I've reached my hair growth goal (which is WL or TBL) and after I've spent a good amount of time at that length. I feel that being relaxed is a styling choice and if a person wishes to stay relaxed for all their life, then that is perfectly fine, just so long as you take care of your hair properly, and the same goes for natural hair.

P.S. I think it's normal for relaxed heads to get nostalgic and wish they had natural hair (especially when their hair is acting up). I've also read posts by some naturals that get frustrated with their hair and get nostalgic for their relaxed hair. I think it will always be that way for some: When they are relaxed they miss their natural hair, and when they go natural they miss their relaxed hair :).

LOL, there's already ppl in this thread that thought they was going to stay relaxed and changed their minds (in less than a year). LOL. Not that it's a bad thing at all. It's just amazing how after time your mind changed. I once thought I wouldn't transition till I was BSL, or 30+, and look at me.

I want to see how far I can go with my relaxed hair . This is the first time I've been this length and right now I can't imagine doing a BC or risking breakage duering a transition.

I want to stay relaxed until I hit a goal. I want to have long hair again and not keep BCing my progress away. I'd like to see if I can hit BSL or WSL.:spinning:

For now I am definitely ride or die relaxer! I have been natural...not so much out of wanting to be natural, but defintely to fix the damage that me and stylists created! I've seen my natural 'do, and now I'm working on growing my hair out, and I wouldn't want to start chopping it off at this point!

I have been natural twice in my adult life, and I definitely prefer to be relaxed!! The ONLY time I liked being natural is when my hair is in a super short fro. As soon as it starts growing I prefer to be relaxed. I think I won't BC anymore, and I will just keep relaxing until whenever.
