For the first time in years, my ends aren't all frayed and bush. This is sooooo exciting to me. Y'all just don't know. My hair has always grown pretty quickly but I never retained it because I was always chopping off ends. I have finally found out the proper way to baggy and my hair loves it. I have been using moisterizing products as well as protein and may have found the right balancing act. Look! Look! Look!

These are my ends. I've been baggying with cantu shea butter leave in and it is fierce. my hair is so soft and shiny.

This is what I've been doing. I still only wash once a week, can't find the time to do it more. I know, I have to work on that. I wash with multiple things, haven't found a shampoo that wows me yet. I use GVP version of Nexxus Humectress. After rinsing I apply aphogee pro-vit leave in, vidal sassoon color secure leave-in(I don't have color but I know products for color are great), then I apply some cantu shea butter leave in, put some coconut oil on my scalp, bun my hair and let it air dry. Since I have gotten my ceramic iron, once it's dry I run the flat iron through my hair so that it doesn't have any uncessary stress at the damarcation line---my hair doesn't like stretching at all.

I will usually keep it up all day and I pin it back up at night when I go to bed, put my scarf on and keep it moving. If my hair begins to feel deprived and mushy, I'll use my GVP of Joico K-Pak reconstructor before the humectress. Then after my hair is dry I'll apply a light coating of 100% pure mango butter---that stuff is the truth!!

Yea baggying was the main thing that helped my ends and helped me get to APL with thick luscious healthy ends. I used profectiv healthy ends and vaseline under my baggy and for the first time I stopped needing trims at every relaxer. Keep it up!!! I dont know if you're familiar with her, but baggying help babygurl get from shoulder length to a thick and full waist length with near flawless ends the whole time.:spinning:

Glad you found something that works for you!! Your hair is pretty in this pic.

About how long did it take for you to get those last few inches to APL? I am just below my collarbone.

Congratulations Girl!!! Your ends look great. I'm also slowly getting my ends to look and healthier with twice weekly DCing and protective styling.

I think its about time I started investigating baggying. It seems to be working for most ladies.

Does Bagging revert hair - I am sure you ladies are relaxed but I am texlaxed. My ends just feel a little parched, but I don't use a lot of products on it. I might have to bun for a while to get these ends where I need it to get to.

I can't wait to get my ends right. I know they need to be cut off, but I'm scared to let anyone do it. My hair is growing in a V shape, and if I ge a trim you best to believe they're gonna just cut my hair straight across to make it even. My ends are looking a little reaggedy and frizzy so once I get to apl, I'm going to snip snip myself (hopefully) and use your method. I LOVE that cantu butter leave in. I was using it as a moisutrizer for awhile

I saw this in Walmart the other day but I put it back. Maybe I'll try baggying with this. My hair was so dry the last few days, it didn't even look like I had a relaxer.

It only took me a year to get from neck length to APL with baggying. i could have gone farther, but I stopped baggying at about the six month mark bc I wanted to wear my hair out more. :wallbash: Shoulda kept it up!!! :wallbash: The pics are in my siggy.

Hey SuperNova,

Your ends are bomb. Great job. I know it takes a lot of discipline and patience to achieve this major miles on your hair. You are solid for future hair growth that's thack and even.

Outstanding.:yep:

Looks nice and thick! Mmmmmm, you have me thinking about baggying again. I used to baggy in late '06 and early '07. I overdid at one point and it became counterproductive.

But you're right, when done correctly, baggying is THE ultimate moisturizer.

Lexi mentioned Babygurl, and I agree. Babygurl's hair is crazy healthy.

No, it doesn't revert. I just found out recently that on relaxed hair, it's best not to wet the hair a lot to baggy. A little goes a long way. I previously was saturating my hair to baggy and did way more harm than good. Even when I baggy my whole head, I don't make it wet. Did it last night and woke up and my hair felt like a yt girl---I kid you not, it was so soft and silky

I wasn't scared when my ends got bad. I think I am a little scissor happy. I cut off about an inch back in January I think. My ends were too horrible to hold on to and I couldn't stand to look at them.

My hair get's like that if I let it get too dry. baggying will def help. I thought I was going to have to switch from no-lye to lye in order to get my relaxers to look like something but baggying has saved me the trouble.

Did you wet baggy or dry baggy before?

Yes, her hair is great. I dare not set a goal like that for my hair, at least not yet. We'll see.

Baggying has also helped with overall breakage. Now I see shed hairs in my comb. If I can just figure out how to decrease my shedding, (garlic, I know, but the smell:perplexed)
