Probably no response because there are sooooo many tips and so much typing. Look at natural fotki's. Feel free to browse in mine. One big DO....(for dry hair)MOISTURE,MOISTURE, MOISTURE! That's been my experience.

Keep your hair moisturized!

Don't sleep with your hair loose. Moisturize it and braid it up at night.

Do seal it with a light oil.

Don't use too much leave-in...a little goes along way. Moisturize the ends especially and massage it in by rubbing and smoothing the ends.

Don't comb dry...only when hair has conditioner in it.

Do different styles to keep you motivated. Add hair friendly accessories.

I'm sure others will chime in!

exactly what she said. i would add one slight variation: moisture, moisture, moisture, protein, moisture, moisture, moisture

IOW, I wash every 2-3 days and follow with a moisturizing DC w/ heat and then every 4th wash I do a protein DC. Other than that I moisturize and seal my ends nightly and keep my ends tucked, for the most part, during the day.

I also find that I have less breakage/damage when I stretch my hair rather than wearing it in its washngo state.

If you are going to use a MaxiGlide, DO NOT RAKE IT THOUGH YOUR HAIR. Open and close it slightly (like little taps) all the way down the hair shaft. Now that's smooth sailing:grin:
