I voted indecisive. It's just hair for me..not a lifestyle. Me and my hair have a love/hate relationship (which is totally based on washing and detangling time...lol)...BUT right now I love her and just want to take the time to get to know her a little more. Plus I envision myself with thick waist length natural hair...and once I reach that goal, if it becomes unbearable...who knows,,i may throw something in their to slightly relax the thickness...There's nothing like a head of thick healthy hair..whether relaxed/tex'd/or natural.

Yes, I love my natural hair. I never really like relaxing. I didn't know I had the option to do anything else at the time. Especially since it only looked good to me when I had a fresh touch up. Then having to hide the new growth would be a pain in the butt. Natural for life! :yep: :drunk:

I don't ever plan to relax again. I have a nice bald spot right by my ear. And yes I was a faithful salon groupie. So no home kit perms here.

Just not me. I do understand wanting straight styles. So I will flat iron or weave it up for a change. But, I will not put chemicals in my hair again. Point Blank.

Natural is the only way that I can have a nice, thick, healthy head of hair with some length to it.

Tried relaxing, tex-laxing, so called healthy relaxers. They ALL caused my hair to break.

I'm transitioning for the last time in my life.

I think I will probably stay natural for life. But my hair looked nice relaxed so I don't want to say I'll never go back. But honestly, I don't forsee why I would. I definitely don't miss getting relaxers (though I would only get one a few times a year--I was stretching before I knew what stretching was :lachen:) and I've only straightened my hair a few times since being natural. But if I find myself craving straight hair for a while I'll just flat iron.

I voted no. I like my natural hair but honestly it's too much work for me. If I had a finer hair texture, then I would surely stay natural. After I've grown my hair to the desired length, then I will texturize it and not look back!

Love your Jesus Christ Birthday cake ...Way cool

i posted yes even though Tuesday I needed some encouragement. As a natural I can flat iron and have straight hair and wash and have natural hair. I luv luv luv to run my fingers over my natural curls they feel so good.:lachen::lachen:

Blaque*Angel, congrats on your little bun in the oven! I too am expecting (will be 7 months next Friday), so I can imagine how excited you are! Congrats again, I'm sure your little one will be very precious!

Aw, thank you

and congratulations too :)

I wish you the very best

:rosebud:

Although I love being natural you will never really know. I *have* madethe decision though, that I will only relax my hair if my hair is at WSL,, cause if i'm gonna relax my hair, I don't want to be adding any fake hair to it to add length, I want it to be all mine =D

When I transition over, I think I may be here for a while, at least for life. However, if I return to my short hair, I will be getting a relaxer. But, for now, I am looking forward to the latter!

I sure am...:yep: Why in the world would I want to go back to the headache of relaxing again. After cutting off my nearly BSL hair to a 2''-3'' TWA there is no reason I would want to put myself through that shock again...:nono:

yall pray that i stay natural for life....since it has only been 5mths 1wk n 1dy since i shaved off my laxer compared 2 20yrs of hooked on cream, i like my hair but would love to be in love w/it and the benefits of being natural for life.

Even with all the drama of dealing with shrinkage I have accepted being natural and am okay with it.

I never say never. but I just don't see myself altering my hair texture permanently.

Maybe once in a multi colored moon getting a press, but no more chemicals.

I planned on relaxing it after I reached WL. But now I hope that by then, I'll be sooo good at taking care of my hair and working WITH it, that I won't feel the need to relax it.

Yes!

Especially now that I know what I am doing to care for it and styling is nice and easy. I also love that if I want to wear it straight a couple times a year, I can.

I've been natural for 3.5 years and honestly can't imagine going back to relaxing. My hair was never this healthy or this long when I was relaxed. Plus I like the look and feel of my natural hair better. Not to mention that the smell of a relaxer makes me sick to my stomach. For me, nappy is just the way to be.

Never say never. I've been natural for 7 years now and love it - but as it grows longer and fuller, I'm not sure if I really want to deal with all that big hair. I may have to texlax or something.

Yes, most definitely. I don't know how to take care of relaxed hair.
Gloomgeisha, LOVE the quote from the Dalai Lama!

It's not really a choice for me. I don't think my hair can stand relaxers. But even if it could, I think I would still remain natural. It's just so much more easier to me...less worry too.

I used to think I would be a lifer. I'm not so sure anymore. I keep seeing all these gorgeous texlaxed and relaxed heads. I love my natural hair but, sometimes I want to texlax and have the best of both worlds. I'm so confused. :skitzo:
