I'd say you are 4a with some 4b. But that hair typing lacks the texture part (medium, coarse, fine). Pretty lil twa

4a/b seems about right. Your waves are kinda popping so I wouldn't be surprised if you have a touch of 3c.

3c, 4a, and 4b can be so similar looking depending on how you style it. That's why I list all of them as being my hair type... I have no idea how to pick just one cuz have all of that going on in my head

I get so confused with this hair typing stuff. somedays my hair looks like a straight bush, no curl at all. Other days i have sexy little ringlets. I always thought that 4a hair was silky. depending on how my hair wants to act, somedays some of my curls are silky. but for the most part I thought my hair was 4b because it wasn't silky.

There is silky 4b and coarse 4a (MY hair is mostly 4a and COARSE, more than anyone I've ever known!)

It's really just a description of the curl pattern.

4b - Pen spring/coffee stirrer diameter coils/curls.
4a - Pen spring/coffee stirrer diameter coils/curls that clump similar to more loosely curled hair does.
3c - Drinking straw diameter curls.
