How are you gonna maintain your hair until next summer????

Summer is almost over and what have you learned this summer about your hair??? That less is more. I cowash and daily and apply no styling products.

What works better for your hair???? Cowashing and no styling products. Wearing my hair naked has been the best thing for my hair.

Are you gonna miss co-washing????(I know I am) N/A.. I will continue to cowash. Once my hair is long enough I will cowash and bun

How are you gonna maintain your hair until next summer???? Cowashing and bunning. I'm in the BSL 09 and MBL 09 challenges so I'm trying to get maximun retention.

Answers above...

I learned that the summer can give you as much dryness as the winter can.:ohwell:

And the sun will change your hair color.:ohwell:

I don't cowash. Basically my reggie is the same all year round, wash and Dc once a week, moisturize daily. I'm looking for a better moisturizer.

That I can wear my hair down in the summer w/o it breaking, shedding b/c of the heat or sun.

What works better for your hair???? Wearing it down in the summer is ok and wearing in a bun fall/winter months. Didn't change my regimen.

Are you gonna miss co-washing????(I know I am) Never co-washed

How are you gonna maintain your hair until next summer???? Bun 98% of the time during fall/winter months, deep condition once a week, moisturize daily and stretch relaxers.

That I can wear my hair down in the summer and still retain my length; I just do the lo-mani thing.

What works better for your hair????
Bunning isn't working well for my shorter layers right now so for now, wearing it down.

Are you gonna miss co-washing????(I know I am)
I could co-wash all year round if I wanted to .. I just don't want to.

How are you gonna maintain your hair until next summer????
Straight and down in fall, straight and bunned up in the winter, curly rollersets in the spring, braidouts in the summer

I loved doing braid outs and pony tails this summer.

Are you gonna miss co-washing????(I know I am)
Yes, I am
How are you gonna maintain your hair until next summer????
I am claiming BSL lenght by 12-31-08 honestly I have about 2-4" to go to hit it. :lick: Now once I maintain BSL then I will keep it at BSL very full, long , thick and healthy. I cannot wait. By 12-31-2012 I wanted to be full- mid back lenght. Now I want to be full WST. I am shooting big. I think next summer I will wash my hair every single day and see what happens!

Summer is almost over and what have you learned this summer about your hair???....ive learned that my hair stays sooo much more moisturized in this weather. I hardly had to do anything to it

What works better for your hair???....when in doubt coconut oil, silk protein. No heat for as long as i can go in the beginning of my stretch.
Are you gonna miss co-washing????...ill miss waking up to still damp hair but not being afraid to go outside in fear of drying up....cant do that in winter
How are you gonna maintain your hair until next summer????....phoney ponys and half wigs...lots of em..ugh i hate winter

No it's not! It can't be almost over! It just got here. Noooooo!

Sorry, I'm in denail, but being in the thick and midst of summer, I've learned what poochie's learned.

I have learned that my hair loves Aphoghee products and deep conditioning with an oil added to it.

That I can't scratch my head all over then lightly base my scalp and expect not to burn. :lachen:

Boy was I wrong.:ohwell:

I learned that I can only make a swoop in winter LOL.

Oh and that my hair is much much easier to keep hydrated during this season and that that coopertone spray sun block can be used on my hair when I go to the beach.

-The lighter the product, the better.

i'm cosigning on the "summer can give you as much dryness as winter" thing
and requires moisture daily and deep conditioning often

i learned that even in the warmer months, protective styling is best for me

and that my hair really does dislike silicones and i should stop trying to work with products that contain them.

Summer is almost over and what have you learned this summer about your hair??? That my hair thrives in weaves because I don't have to do anything to it but moisturize. And, it helps me psychologically because I get to see my growth, take care of my hair, and look good all at the same time.

What works better for your hair???? Leaving it alone as much as possible.

Are you gonna miss co-washing????(I know I am) No. I only did it on my week break from weaves and it's too much of a hassle. I'm always scared my hair isn't moisturized enough or that once it's dry it's going to be too dry. And when I let my hair shrink up I just get more knots.

How are you gonna maintain your hair until next summer???? I'm weaving until I can make a full, cute bun with my own hair. Hopefully that will be next summer if I retain everything.

I'm happy I learned how to take care of my hair in weaves and I found someone who will do them for cheap and doesn't braid too tight. So, I have my plan for the year!

what I learned ...that my hair obviously prefers that I leave it alone. As for cowashing ...I stopped because im wearing braids . In addition, I will try to maintain my hair in braids for the winter . When I take down my braids if I see a great progress I will continue for the full winter . Until I can do a bun with all the layers in my hair I will wear braids. Its so simple ...moisture moisture moisture wash moisture moisture moisture and wash. I miss playing my hair tho :(

Summer is almost over and what have you learned this summer about your hair??? I don't need to DC to maintain moisture.

What works better for your hair???? Staying out of it by cowashing and bunning daily.

Are you gonna miss co-washing????(I know I am) No, I learned last winter that cowashing daily is a must for me no matter what season.

Summer is almost over and what have you learned this summer about your hair??? I don't need to DC weekly if im co-washing, and i simply do not have the discipline to stay happy in braids! argh. need to take this kanekalon OUT

What works better for your hair???? Cowashing daily

Are you gonna miss co-washing????(I know I am) Nope...cuz i aint stopping :lachen:

How are you gonna maintain your hair until next summer???? Co-washing and baggying daily.

I learned that my hair loves Elucence products as much as it loves KeraCare and it's funny because I remember posting that Elucence MB Conditioner did nothing for me a couple of years ago . I just wasn't using enough of it, now it works just as well as Humecto for me. It feels great to have two great moisturizing conditioners to depend on!

I also learned that hand-held shower heads are the best thing since sliced bread and that they're one of the best things I can use for my hair besides great conditioners. I don't know why it took me so long to finally get one, I'll never have another bathroom without one, lol.

Finally, I will miss air drying my hair in warm weather. I airdry all year long, but there's nothing like airdrying in 85 degree weather versus -45 weather, lol.

i have learned that my hair loves to be deep conditioned and washed weekly. also learned that i can keep and retain my hair and still wear it out.
will do the same in the winter.
i may still co wash in the winter but not wet bun.

I have learned that it was time to end my 8 month transition by relaxing because it was becoming too time consuming.

I have JUST discovered Elasta QP Mango Butter. My hair loves it, looks shiny, and feels moisturized.

I have learned that I really don't need direct heat in my regimen, I do just fine with roller sets.

I have learned that my hair grows faster in the wintertime.

Since I retained about 3-4 inches of growth over the past 8 months, I want to continue to retain length so I plan on wearing my hair in cute updos most days a week, then wearing it down 1 or 2 days only to prevent my ends from snagging on my sweaters and coats!!

I'm excited to get back to my rollersets and Curlformers. I don't usually do styles like that in the summer because of the humidity.

I may also slow down on CW like I did last Fall.

I believe the same about me. I have only really gotten maybe 1-2" of growth this summer. I'm no wear near where I had expected to be...so I must put all my regimen into overdrive.

Summer is almost over and what have you learned this summer about your hair???
It does well when left alone. My hair thrived from braided buns and braids.
My hair also grows faster in the fall/winter.

What works better for your hair????
Washing and deep conditioning 1-2xs a week and protective styling

How are you gonna maintain your hair until next summer?
Maintain with the same regimen; protective styling and washing/deep conditioning 1-2xs a week.

I learned that hair gel and slicked back ponytails ARE my tried & true bestest friends (i just don't put any gel on my ends and keep them tucked under). My hair has retained quite a bit of length using this method

-Joico is the shiznit

-Beyond Straight and the end are awesome heat protectant/humidity resistant products

1. I learnt that my hair grows slow, and my nails fast...so I need to do more scalp massages and improve diet/exercise.
2.No heat works much better, hopefully in the future I will be able to get a hood dryer. The flat iron is the debil.
3. Not really...I will be happy to get a break. I do my hair for an hour..almost everyday. I will also save money.
4. I really don't know what the future will bring. I looked so homely in braid outs and I don't have the time to spend an hour on my hair a day, so I need to figure out something quick!
