Hey ladies, Jus wanted a lil idea of the rate of growth the LHCF natural community is experiencing!

I've been natural for 3 years now and I'm APL in the back and CL at the sides.

What about you ladies, where are you now?????

My third anniversary was in July. I transitioned for 14 months. My hair is just below hip length when stretched and of variable, but certainly shorter, lengths when dry.

I bc'd December 02. I can't believe this December will make 6 years!

I'm mid-back length (barely...but I claim it!) :look:

Good post! It would also be informative to know how long the ladies transitioned before starting their all natural journey.

I've always been natural but abused the press/curl bit. Anyway, I've been wearing my hair mostly in non-straight styles for the past 4 years. I have several different lengths on my head currently, but the back is about 4 inches from waist length, mid-head at about BSL, and the front is about arm-pit length.

I have been natural for a looong minute, but my healthy natural hair practices started in 05.

I marked BSL for now hoping by December I will be able to show MBL or dang near close.

Did some twists yesterday and looked like the charcter on the little rascals. I started laughing really hard because they were OUT there!!:lachen:

What was his name Furnia? :lachen::lachen:

My third anniversary was this July. I transitioned for exactly 11 months before chopping. My hair was brastap length but I had it cut in April. I would say it's armpit length now.

I'm brastrap. But if you want to be technical, I was brastrap at my three year anniversary and I big chopped to a twa.

I'm not even bsl and I've been natural for 12 years. :ohwell: But I think we shouldn't assume that because someone's natural that they'll be retaining length. I mean, we never ask the question "oh, you've been relaxed for 5 years, so your hair should be long by now, right?" If you don't know how to retain length, natural or not, you won't get it.

Oh, I've been trying to grow now since Jan.

i went and texurized and lightened my hair in April '06 and didn't know how to take care of it because prior to that i had been natural for 10 years. My hair bc'd itself due to major breakage from the overprocessing and zero DCing. it was horrible. think i was finally rid of all the texturized ends by November06.

I have gone from ear length Nov06 to almost APL presently. My ultimate goal is BSL when lightly blow-dryed to stretch, or MBL flat-ironed.

I am in between SL and APL. I have had a few setbacks along the way. I also didn't start with much. I did the BC and was left with about an inch and a half TWA so all in all I'm happy with my progress.
oh yeah, it won't be three years until October but I came in anyway.

I transitioned for 5 months--from July 02-December 02. I cut my hair I believe it was twice, before doing the "final BC" in December.

**wipes tears***
i WOULD have been here, as i went natural around the same time AND my hair grows well. i had lots of set backs, mainly from heat damage from too hot irons. the set back was crucial because my hair snapped about mid shaft! :wallbash: so i basically had to cut it to the same length which was right above shoulder about three years in.
and mwedzi said it all, another reason was because i didn't know how to retain length. i was just going off of...i'm natural it will grow!
so now, after 1 year of healthy growing from damaged shoulder/collar bone length in 2007, i'm at apl and you best believe i rarely use heat and when i do it's not super hot.
but it's okay though my hair is healthy and thick now and not heat damaged! ya live and ya learn :drunk:

I BCed in January 05, and right now my length is right at bra-strap (though the front is a little shorter than the back :look:)

I am going in for a trim tomorrow...a little nervous about that...I always get nervous around stylists and scissors. :nono:

Er...I voted on accident...I am APL and will be two years come August 31st. My last relaxer was on May 9,2006 and I BC on August 31, 2006 so I transitioned for four months.

I have been natural for 6 years now. There was no transition, I just shaved it bald. It took about a year to go from nothing to shoulder length. And another year to APL. I stayed at APL for 3 years. I had some setbacks with bad heat damage and severe dandruff from 04 to 07. So now I am BSL going for Midback.

I have been natural for a little over four years.

I started doing protective styles a year ago.

I became addicted to LHCF last fall.

Right now I am MBL (soon to be WL )!

ETA: I didn't really transition. I mean I tried to transition for about 6 months if I remember correctly, but the stylist cut me down to less than an inch of hair when I did the BC.

I love love love your hair. You and Queeny have beautiful heads of hair.

i've been natural since april/spring of 05. I was past APL on my 2nd anniversary, but chopped... don't ask why cuz i'm not sure.
Now, I'm either at Apl or just above APL in the back, and i recently cut some of the hair in the front so now its right at SL

I'm at the bottom of the brastrap now. I would have been a little longer but I had a 'moment' a few months ago and cut off between 2-4inches of hair.:look:

I have been natural for 3 years and 2 months. Back then, I started with less than 1/2 an inch of hair. At my 3 year mark, I was armpit length. A month ago, I got my hair cut to a few inches passed shoulder length. Now, I'm in the process of growing my hair back out. I hope to have brastrap length hair by at least the end of 2009.
