That's interesting. How did you find this out? Maybe it's because they actually make their cetyl alcohol with coconut, as I've read that it can also be made from petroleum or palm oil.

It's on the ingredients list for the bottles meant for the UK

Apparently the UK/Europe has more strict labeling rules than America.

There was also a thread about it not too long ago.

They can get away with it because technically it IS derived from coconuts.

I wonder what corn oil soap really is?

I'll see if I can bump that thread up...

Here's the ingredients for HSR in the UK

UK/EU - aqua, butyrospernum parkii, cetyl alcohol, aloe barbadensis, glyceryl linoleate, glyceryl linolenate, glycerin, triticum vulgare oil, hamamelis virginiana, simmondsia chinesis*, rosa moschata oil*, foeniculum vulgare, humulus lupulus extract, melissa officinalis extract, viscum album extract, anthemis nobilis extract, achillea millefollium extract, chrysanthenium extract, forsythia suspensa fruit extract, magnolia biondii extract, lonicera japonica oil, tocopherol acetate, retinyl palmitate, daucus carota oil, citrus grandis, retinyl acetate, ascorbic acid.

Not that I'm in a crusade against AO.

I LOVE HSR and lots of other products from AO.

Don't get upset just yet. I won't believe it until I see it on a bottle of the product.

I went to Whole Food a week or so ago and I saw ingredients on bottles of HSR conditioner similar to what Neith posted but it said it was a Whole Foods Exclusive and the store had bottles of the original formula too. I just assumed the company had a partnership with WF but would continue to offer the original.

Hey Lynn what's the websites name?
I'm trying to find it MJ.

I found it while I was looking for rhassoul clay months ago and I didn't save the link :S

I need to find it like now.

I can't find it grrrrrrrr. It was a coconut fatty acid cream base and came in 1 gallon size jugs. Like these:

http://www.newdirectionsaromatics.com/conditioner-cosmetic-base-p-580.html
or http://www.essentialwholesale.com/U....61.172.55:80/category_s/154.htm&Redirected=Y

and I really think that FNWL is where I first saw it (since I ordered so many things from them in the past):

http://www.fromnaturewithlove.com/soap/product.asp?product_id=basesheacond&affiliate=32964

There used to be several conditioner bases offered. the Shea Butter one I found with google's "cache" :S

Now they don't even carry the conditioner bases anymore I'm noticing.

A few "organic beauty products were recently cracked down on because they tested positive for some toxic chemical. i dont know if Aubrey was one of them. If so, they probably had to change. I do like the old formula!

I have Aubreys shampoo. Maybe the changes are for the better. These products are very expensive I don't think I will buy on a consistent basis.

For those who are interested, I found a website that tells all the ingredients of Aubrey Organics products. I think it's a European site, hence why they actually spell out the real ingredients. Here it is: http://www.theorganicbodycareshop.com/products.asp?Brand=Aubrey_Organics&SID=7&PTID=none

Just click on the product you want to know more about. Enjoy.

Also, I'm subscribing to this thread, because I will be really hurt if they change HSR. :ohwell: I want to stay tuned to what you guys find out.

I really appreciate you for telling me this:grin:

I went to Whole Foods and they had every single type of aubrey organics except for honey suckly rose. I was like, you gotta be kidding me. Perhaps they sold out, but I didn't see any empty spaces.

wow lol the funny part is that I just stopped using this conditioner. Now I just rotate between Jason Biotin Conditioner, Aphogee 2 Minute Reconstructor, and Kenra MC. I kinda replace the AO HSR with the Jason Biotin lol

Old Formula
Coconut fatty acid cream base, organic aloe vera, organic shea butter, wheat germ oil, organic jojoba oil, organic Rosa Mosqueta Rose Hip Seed Oil; extracts of fennel, hops, balm Mint, misltletoe, camomile, yarrow, chrysanthenum, angelica, forsythia and magnolia; honeysuckle oil, carrot oil, Aubrey's Preservstive (citrus seed extract, vitamins A, C and E).

I'm glad I read the whole thread before panicking :look: my AO HSR has the above ingredients on it. :yep:

For anyone that's interested, here is a website (I think it's European) that lists the real ingredients for AO products. http://www.theorganicbodycareshop.com/products.asp?Brand=Aubrey_Organics&SID=7&PTID=none

Just click on the "more information" link to see their ingredients.

I just called AO customer service to tell them about this issue. The rep. stated that the ingredients lists at the theorganicbodycareshop.com are incorrect. He actually went to theorganicbodycareshop.com site while I had him on the phone.

I asked if they don't list more ingredients in the UK because of higher disclosure standards, and he said "no, the UK and US ingredients are the same". My main reason for calling was that I have super dry skin and all the products I use from their Rosa Mosqueta line list alcohol in the ingredients on the UK site.

Here's Aubrey's UK site:http://www.aubreyorganicsuk.co.uk/index.html

I also asked him to fix the ingredient list for Honeysuckle Rose conditioner on their web site. We'll see if anything changes.

All I know is that I just started using AO, and it is the ish! I use the HSR and GBP. I love them both!!!! They are that good.

Same here. I went to Whole Foods just last week to specifically buy the HSR because of all the raves here. They simply did not have it at all, so I bought the GPB and the White Camellia Ultra Smoothing conditioner instead. However, the store employee said that they can order it specifically for you if you want (that's what she ended up doing for me). She said it's never a problem for them to order special items for customers because they already carry product line itself.

I will say that I can't wait for the HSR to come in because I've already tried the GPB and White Camellia and they were both FABULOUS!!

i've been wanting to pick some of this conditioner up

so i got kind of scared when i read this post haha

whenever i get to my local vitamin shoppe

i'll just make sure i take a look at the ingredients

Hmm, I find this kind of odd, don't you? I wonder who is right? All I know is, based on what a LHCF member (who is from London) told me, the ingredients on that site seem more correct than the ones on the American bottles. There is no such ingredient as "coconut fatty acid base"...but there IS cetyl alcohol. :perplexed

Adora, thanks so much for calling AO customer service. This is so interesting to me. I am interested to see how it turns out.

I buy my AO HSR from vitacost.com because it's cheaper and no matter how much you order from them there shipping charges are only 4.99. So i get HSR, GPB much cheaper than buying in Whole food. And I always order at least 3 bottles each from them, plus they also have Giovanni products too.
