Remember when you used to get you hair done at home hot combs burning on the gas stove, ear, neck, and forhead burns. I get butter put on my burns
. Then when it got to hard for mama, I went to Mrs. Johnson's who didn't belive in relaxers, she had lost alot of business. She would wash my hair stick me under that hooded dryer for hours, until my head looked like buckwheat
. Snatch my head and began to press and pull until my hair was straight. Very painful process every two weeks. I didn't get a relaxer until I was in the 8th grade. Blue magic, royal crown, glover's whatever it is. My grandmother called it dog mange if that is how you spell it.
I applaude you natural sisters with your butters and hair treatments. If we knew then what we know now I would have stayed natural but most of us where miss educated about our hair.
Tell me about you childhood haircare......
