Hi girls! I guess I should come clean and say/ show what my hair looks like.... Might not look horrible, but for someone who's had at least bsl or longer, healthy hair their life up until six years ago it's kinda depressing .

Anyway, I've asked before but I'll ask again what should I do with my hurr??? I am sooo bored/ frustrated with it. I was thinking of a few options...

Keep in mind that I'm anemic so that might explain why I find hair in the sink always :ohwell:. I just want and really need your ladies opinions on what could be best for me. I don't really want to go natural, but if that's the only way for my hair to get back to it's formal glory I might do it :yep:. Here's the pics, sorry for the dumb faces and weird angles...

Hey girlie, the pictures aren't showing up!!!!:ohwell: Eitherway, I am sure your hair doesn't even look half as bad as you are saying it might.

Ok you saying your hair is a bird's nest is like a skinny person talking about how fat they are to their overweight friend.:look: Your hair's not bad. Personally though I wouldn't get color at a time when I'm not really sure of the health and condition of my hair-cuz the color won't make it better. You need to first handle your defficiency with iron and any other vitamin/mineral because your hair will not grow the same your body will not be able to carry out normal functions without much strain, and we all know that hair gets fed darn near last. Why don't you try braidouts or rod sets or get into headbands or decorative hair pins. Do you want to go natural? It won't hurt your hair to just not get a relaxer for a while either way though

Sorry if I sound whiney or ungrateful, I just get impatient and I know I could be better off. Regardless of anything, I'm going to be on the iron for awhile before making a decision....

Oh no I was just joking I'm one of the skinny people that says I'm fat. I understand the frustation. I'm already tired of protective styling and I wanna relax and it's only been 6 weeks sooooo right now I'm pulling out all my headbands and clips and making sure my face is baby smooth and my eyeshadow is super cute. So I'm not really focusing on my hair. I actually really wanna get bangs with a bob but I know that thats like 6 months in my journey. There are lots of vids on youtube that can show you how to style at your length, you'll be fine I promise. But you really need to make sure your health is straight so you can get back to loving your hair.

Lol, I feel silly because I'm one of those kinda skinny people that think's they're chubby sometimes. Someone should slap me for that one day.
But yeah, I basically clarify once to ever other week (with kenra) since I'm heavy handed with products. Wash and dc 2 or three times a week. I'm starting to use protein as needed, usually weekly. And moisturize & seal 2x daily. I have an arsenal of products for any occasion but I'll probably put some stuff away for now and stick with staples.
I need to look into cute hair accessories, I wear pigtails too much, you can see the dents in my hair.... Probably not wise. Thanks for your advice ksk! BTW, does anyone know specifically what anemia does to the hair? This could be the culprit to the breakage.

Girl there is nothing wrong with your hair at all! I wish I had your hair right now. You have lots of thickness.:yep:

I don't mean to change the subject, but are you my long lost twin...?

I think you should cut in a funky layed RiRi inspired bob and then I would add color and enjoy the cut with the nice color and rock that... For me personally when every I get bored with my hair color always helps me.. I think that if you increase the moisture then you should be able to soften your hair a great deal and then you won't have the birds nest.. keep us posted

Here's what I think, straight with no chaser.

Give yourself a 2 inch trim. Step up your moisture game and stay low on the heat. Watch your progress. If your hair doesn't seem to be responding, think about transitioning.

The reason I didn't tell you to transition off top is because it seems as if you really do not want to be natural. Which is OKAY.:yep:

Long story short, try and work with what you have now. Believe it or not, it's not that bad. Nothing that a trim and some TLC won't take care of.

girl if you don't throw some deep conditioner in your hair, rollerset and pin it up and where some curls down in the front and sit down, I'm gonna come get you!!! :spank:

ain't nothin wrong with your hair that a little tlc won't heal like the other lady said.
just relax and be patient with yourself and your hair. trust me, I know.

I voted Other, try a l-o-n-g Stretch.
Perhaps a long stretch, then cut away the newgrowths equivalent length, I acheived a decent amount of growth once with a 8 weeks in braids and 8 weeks down routine. e,

I didn't vote but I am all about lower manipulation and super simple. And bunning. I am thinking the only thing that has saved my hair has been to stop screwing with it. To satisfy my jones to dye it I started using henna in October.

And I like your glasses.

I agree. Give your hair some deep conditioning treatments and some light trimming. Your hair really isn't bad.

Wow, thanks for all the responses ladies! Sorry I didn't respond sooner, I got a little busy. I appreciate the honesty very much, I won't get butt hurt over any criticisms! And I can't wait to get prescribed some iron and perhaps trim like Mizanilocs and GymFreak suggested.
And OT seraphim, if you like Japanese culture as much as I do we might just be lost twins!
