I'm 24 weeks post and I can't do anything with it:wallbash:. Shrinkage is hell! I'm on the road and I probably won't get home for another week or two. I tried flat-ironing but my hair reverted a few hours later. I'm wearing a wig right now and the 100+ degree temps aren't helping. I feel like snatching the wig off and throwing it out of the window:wallbash:.

BC'ing is not an option. :nono: I feel like dusting off that tub of relaxer and putting the NG out of it's misery. In a way, I don't feel bad about this because I wanted to do a 6 month stretch when I first joined the site (Mission accomplished, yay!:yay:). I've already tried some homemade recipes and they don't work well enough for me. Here's what I woke up to this morning:

AAAAAAAAAUUUUUUUUGGGGGGGHHHHHH! Vent over.

Girrrrl why don't you just stick to cowashing it, and then doing a twist/out or braidout set on some flexirods. This style has been my saving grace and it looks super cute when done. It makes it easier to handle the hair because you're not competing with mother nature to keep the hair straight. It will be controlled curls and blend well together. You can even just set on flexirods alone and have a super cute style, your hair is long enough. Try to use the orange ones and the blue ones for the shorter ends. You can set them so they layer nicely. I have pics in my fotki of how I've been rocking my hair (and will be rocking my hair) during the summer where I am transitioning:rolleyes: but may actually just end up doing a 6 month stretch... No sure I'm truly ready to give up my straight styles just yet, and plus I've been natural for a long time before I recently started relaxing again. Twistouts have been my saving grace.:yep:

or can you cornrow? Or find someone to do it while you are out on the road? How long are you out for?

I can't cornrow to save my life :nono:. I'm in Arizona today and some of the prices are outrageous compared to the prices back home in Florida. I haven't been home since April (not cool. So, in addition to finding a stylist when I get back, I may be looking for another job. My boss has assured me that we're getting a new customer so I should be getting home weekly or bi-weekly). *Sigh* We'll see.

Thanks FoxieRoxie, I'll try the flexirods. Right now, I'm feenin' for the creamy crack. I'm feeling like Pookie from New Jack City (it's calling me, man) but looking like Ben Wallace...

Or if flexi's are too tough, my regular perm rods have NEVER failed me and they are inexpensive! HTH.

My hair looked just like that last week. I wet it and soaked in conditioner to soften it. I rinsed hair and left some conditioner in and scrunched. I then grabbed section in the back and twisted sideways and then I used a bobby pin to secure it. I then left the scrunched end out.

I have a picture of this at home.

tonight, section your hair in four parts and do the Crown and Glory method (wash in sections). set your hair (twists, roller, etc) and get pretty. :)

So I take it you're transitioning?

I'll go to the BSS after I finish my delivery and check out the rods. I'll willing try anything right about now. I hope I can get a room to today so I can spend so time trying to get my hair together.

Thank you for your encouraging words, Ladies. I really need it. Yes, Anky this is my first transition:yep:. The camera phone doesn't do it any justice because really look like a HAM.

^I want to ask him "Are you my Daddy?":look:

Nice suggestions-- your braidouts came out really nicely!

That 's who I was looking like on Sat.

Update:

I decided that I'm going to relax again. As much as I would love to continue transitioning, it's hard for me to take the time I need to give my hair the attention it deserves. My job makes it difficult to continue and BC'ing is not an option. Even though I feel like a failure in a way, I'm proud of myself. I didn't think it was possible for me to stretch a relaxer 24 weeks.

Wish me luck and good growth!

You gotta do what's best for you.

So shame in that.

Well, this board is going to love you, regardless of your decisions. Good luck and take more pictures. Don't forget to pamper yourself :yep:

I totally feel you on this!:yep: I wake up sometimes and look at my hair and say damn!!!! you will pull through with the help of the forum. But if it is a big concern, seek professional care from your stylist.

Good Luck!!:bouncegre

what she said!...plus you know that you can still have healthy relaxed hair and you can continue stretching which will only add more to your hair's health (I think stretching anywhere from 12-20 weeks is great).
HHG!

I hope you feel better...... Im about to start wearing my hair in August and i just might have bad hair days :ohwell:

Don't feel bad do what you gotta do. The good thing is if you decide to transition again you always can, your natural hair will always be an option!

Thanks Ladies. I think I'm going to make a date with the chemicals today. I ran into another problem though. I'm not sure if I want to texturize, texlax, or relax now.

Aauuuuugggghhhhh! I can't decide!:wallbash::wallbash::wallbash:
