how long did you transition before B.C`ing?

Sorry if this was asked before :ohwell:
But I'm just curious.
I've been transitioning for 6 months now
& I'm still contemplating on wheather or not
to B.C.
 
15 months of transitioning here and i waited until i had enough length to play with.

When to BC is such a personal decision, no one can tell you when the time is right but you sis.

All we can do is make suggestions, help you along when you get stuck and tell you what worked us, tis all.

You'll know when you're really ready (t.r.u.s.t. me) until then keep on growing it out :)

I second the bolded. My plan was to transition for 18 months or longer. But when it came down to it, the time was right earlier. You will know.
 
i didnt really remember the last time i had a relaxer, but i think it was some time during november.. i big cut in march/april so five months.
 
I'm over a year into my transition...
I don't plan to BC until I reach my goal length...
Ideally I get to MBL and then chop to a full APL-BSL
I want the length more than I want to be natural...
so... I probably won't cut it until 2010.
 
the first time it was like 6/7 months
this time i'm going at least 12 months but aiming for 17

I was going to go for a year or more. HA. :lachen::lachen:

Before that I claimed I wasn't going to BC at all. :rolleyes:
 
I got my last relaxer at the end of December and was going to transition for at least a year...fast forward to April and I just did not want to wait anymore, lol...I'm rockin the twa and loving it:grin:. To each her own though...good luck!
 
I've been transitioning since October 27, 2007. I got 6" - 8" cut on April 9, 2008. I still have a lot of relaxed hair left. I'm going to continue transitioning. I want to gain enough natural hair to get a nice Bob style (with no relaxed hair). I'm not sure how long that'll be, but I'll be patient.
 
my last real relaxer was nov 25th
i attempted to self relax in feb but it didnt take :nono: so i transitioned for 5 months
may 7,2008 a head full of natural hair, it couldn't take it anymore, the only thing my hair would let me do is wear a banana clip styled on wet hair:ohwell:
 
My last relaxer was the end of Aug 07. I BC'd Nov 9, 2007. I guess about 3 months. I was just ready to be "free".
 
I'm 12 months with no definitive end date. :spinning: I plan to start LCing at BSL to maintain that length.
 
i've been transitioning since September.

my original goal was to wait til the spring of 2009, making my transition 20 months....

then i changed my mind to bc at the end of this year

then i changed my mind to bc in september... making it a full year transition

then i thought about bcing on or before the 4th of july of this year...

today, i feel like getting the scissors and bcing now! i've actually got my scissors and other tools ready and have asked my dh to help me cut it... so i'm on the edge

since my last relaxer in september, i've done several mini chops... i've kept what little length i have now only for manipulation purposes... but i really want to bc now. i know that if i bc now, all my hair wont go into a ponytail and i'd be a bit limited on what i could do daily, but every time i play in my hair and look in the mirror, or look at other peoples bc photo's... it makes me want to bc right away... so... i dont know what to do

I'm currently 14 months post (last relaxer was March 1, 2007). I'm trying to hold out until September to BC (that will be 18 months), but it's gets harder and harder every day.
