In hair purgatory
Is there such a thing with out having to braid/twists into a zillion different pieces. I need ones that can last a week but not too small that they get matted

Of course!
I have a partial one in my fotki. In the picture I have the front in flat twists, but I'm done it without the flat twists. What you do is put your hair in big twists (as big as you can make them without them unraveling on yourself) For me this is about 10-15. Then you take a bunch of bobby pins and pin them one at a time into the middle of your head. This will last you over a week.

im gonna try that today! are there anymore?

I also do two large flat twists or corn rows going straight back. Now that my hair is longer, I wrap the two ends around each other to keep them off of my neck. I don't know if that counts as an up-do though.

I hope someone else comes in with more responses.
