Hairstyling Help

First, a little bit of background...

An avid weave wearer when relaxed. Only wore straight, flatironed hair. Ended chemical abuse June 2010. Transitioned with kinky curly sew in for 2 years. Big chopped June 2012...

Over the last year I have attempted twist outs, braid outs, wash n gos, buns, updos, twist extensions, and more sew ins... But the problem is since I never learned to style my actual hair during transition, the results aren't really presentable, in my opinion, now that I'm natural. Plus its at that awkward mid length unstretched. What I need is recommendations for YouTubers who give good styling tutorials. Preferably ones with short-medium length hair.
