(Help) How do you assign a hair type.....Pics Inside

When it can have a multitude of different looks with limited manipulation. For example I was trying to figure out my hair type. None of these looks were acheived with substantial manipulation (i.e. lots of product, repeated brushing). I understand how my hair behaves, but that has given me no indication of my hair type

You're supposed to wash your hair and let it air dry unmanipulated with no products.

Your hair is pretty. I'm no expert because I haven't figured mine out yet but looking at your siggy I'd say it's in the 3 range.

I think I've finally found my hair twin! My hair looks like yours and when its wet it has more of an S-Curl going on than a coil. What hair type would this be classified as?

I would say you're in the 3 range but your hair also looks wavy. Maybe 2c/3a? 3a/3b? Definitely not a 4 and your curls are kind of big.

This is what I dont get either erplexed. My grows in defined wave patterns not curls or coils. Even the kinkier textures (that could be categorized as 4a) are S shaped-sort of like a compressed version of a wave. They also usually form in a flat-like manner not in a 3-D helical shape

Don't get bogged down in hair type minutiae.
