What made you decide to take the plunge? What questions did you ask yourself before doing it to make sure it was the right decision? Just wondering

Thanks Twistiesi understand totally. i am hoping some will chime in to answer your question though.
It's just a thought but one I will probably not do because of the negatives i forsee. When did you start getting the itch? You're thinking about it too?? It's all those beautiful heads of texlaxed hair tempting you isn't ?

Boredom. I was seriously bored with my hair. It was so long and thick that all I could do was twists, the occasional braids, and the eternal bun. It was either have natural hair and cut off about 6 or 7 inches, or relax and keep it long. I wanted to telax it so that I could do a wash n go and it still look ok. I love being natural. I did what I did as a compromise with DH. He loves natural hair but didnt want me to cut it. We had to meet in the middle so this is what I came up with.

The only thing I asked myself was would I be willing to play Russian Roulette everytime I need to re-touch. Thats my biggest fear. I havent relaxed again since I did it the last time, and I need to, but like I said, Im scared. It doesnt really matter much to me anyways if I mess up b/c if I do I'll just bone-strait it the next time.Just wondering

Hopeful??Subscribing.
For me the first reason is shrinkage I was just neck length but the annoyance of my hair looking like a TWAmade me feel like I was making no progress, then I wanted the option of straighter/ smoother styles without having to use soo much heat/ manipulation. What I found is (I literally rinsed the relaxer out of my hair - not more than 3-5 mins max) my hair STILL behaves much like it did when it was natural, ie shrinkage, volume - but it straightens easier with less heat, and holds styles I like a little longer, I'm only texlaxing 2ce a year (I colour too) and I think I will enjoy it more as my hair grows

Welp, my hair definitely isn;t as long and thick as yours but I do like the idea of straightening with less heat and not so much shrinkage. It's something i've been thinking about but I just don't know...My answers are in purple.
Bre, you sure you aint contemplating?![]()
Sounds like this was a simple choice for you and one that is more than worth whileI texlaxed because I was tired of how difficult my hair was. It was difficult to control, impossible to keep moisturized, and it was breaking. After I texlaxed I had more styling options, my roller sets lasted longer and looked better, and I can wash and go without looking like a crazy person. I just asked myself if being texlaxed would make life easier, and the answer was yes.
So ahhh......whacha gone do?
No pressure!
Thank you for your reply. Sounds like you have a jammin stylistStraight up, the day to day maintenance was time-consuming. I didn't have very many questions beforehand because I was going to texlax no matter what. My only concern was my hair getting too straight during the texlaxing process. I told my stylist exactly what I wanted and she did a darn good job. I have absolutely no regrets.
These are some of my concerns as well. I just think though that i'll be back to the creamy cracki did it because i was tired of being a slave to the weather, afraid to break any type of sweat and because the crown area is a totally different texture! i was doing more harm with that section being natural. its alot tighter than the rest of my head.
i texlax myself. when i first had it done i went to the shop and told her what i wanted but it came out straight so i took over from there. i just want my pattern loosened up thats it AND to keep the frizzies away!!!
subscribing as well...will be doing this soon![]()
Noooo way!
You too?
Lol what's happening here?
