Thanks for this post - I am a newbie to this so right now I have only used the Mild by Dr. Bronners... I am ready to branch out though. I can definitely tell a difference since I left that other stuff alone.
I use the peppermint(very diluted) as shampoo. I have replaced my shampoo with castile. It's so gentle on my strands. Some people say it dries out their hair but I always ask if they diluted it first. Castile soap comes concentrated, that's one of the reasons it's so economical. I use the peppermint as my body soap too. I want to use it to wash dishes and clean but since I use it on my hair too I'm having a hard time unclenching my fist. I'm such a miser when it comes to my hair products. So since this is a "hair product" for me I hoard it. I plan on buying the tea tree oil castile for my hair and get the lavender for my clothes. I plan on using the different kinds for everything I can!
hey sweetie,
are you using this for a shampoo, as well?
tia,
tishee
The almond is the best, all-around! I love washing with it-- makes the whole bathroom smell so good. The problem is that no matter how much I dilute it, it always goes fast.
I hate the smell of lavendar and eucalyptus [sp] so there is no way that I would buy those. Also, since I already use peppermint oil for almost everything, it gets a bit over-done if I use it to wash.
In the past I used the peppermint for a shampoo - this was when I would wear my hair in natural styles. It has a wonderful lather and was not drying at all.
Wow..it does all of that?!?
laundry and all, huh?
I tried reading the bottle, but the blasted thing gives me a headache. I know it says it has 18 uses, but I had no idea
thanks sweetie. now if I could get the right dilution I would be set. I used it once and my hair was cleaned but really dry(figured I did not have enough water).
where do you buy this?
Is this stuff really that good? I've never tried it.
I heard Dr. Bronners just started a new Rose Castile Soap. Mmm! I can't wait to give it a go!

It's really THAT good!!![]()
Yea castille or bastille (which is what dr. bronners really is) soap has plenty of uses but for clothes its a no go. The cleaning properties of a true castille is very very mild so it will hardly have any affect on clothes at all. But Dr. Bronners version of Castille (really bastille) has other oils such as coconut which is a cleansing oil so therefore can clean more but still not enough for house cleaning or laundry.
