hey ladies
Ive fallen out with several shampoo's and need a new one...
the last few I have used have eft my hair a tangled matted mess even my old faves pantene and head and shoulders! I have about 7 inches new growth but that has never been a problem before so I dont know what the deal is.

What shampoo's are you ladies using?
I'd like to see recomendations for moisturising and detangling poos please and also I'd prefer to but ones with fewer chemicals in also...AND i would really like to be able to buy from ladies who make their own and/or sell their own - just so I know they mean business.

Thanks ladies for your help.

Sedal's Keraforce. It has the effect of creme of nature but doesn't weigh my hair down.

Unfortunately, since I'm the only one buying it, I believe it's being discontinued. I like the sunsilk anti-frizz as a backup.

you'll never have slip like this in your LIFE. Cannot beat it with a 10-foot-pole and an ally cat.

You are going to get CON all over this thread - it happens everytime. :yep:

I agree it is a good shampoo, but I don't use it personally. I don't know my hair feels odd after using it. That is all I used as a child, but now it just does not work for me.

I currently use Activate moisturizing shampoo, but it is not my favorite because it does not have chelating agents for my hair water. Softening and smells good, but if I did not chelate often, I would be introuble with that one.

If I had to pick a shampoo alone, I would go for the Abba Pure Moisture (formally Moisture Scentsations). It is wonderful - scalp stimulating and gives so much slip. But, I don't like that the conditioner that goes with it has cones (I am cone free). I prefer using match sets but that shampoo is really great.

The Porosity Control shampoo is really great, as well. Again, I don't like the conditioner that goes with it.

Edited add:

Sorry for the less than straight forward answer

I have been through the gammut with shampoos.

I do agree that CON is one of the best on the market - and it is cheap.

But I only use CON in an emergency - or - if I want to get some homemade concoction gone wrong:lachen:out......

I now use the following:

1. Homemade poo - only because I dont get any stripped feeling - knowing my hair is clean but not stripped.....I really had to find a shampoo that would work for me... I was unhappy with the stripping and constant need to replentish the moisture - SLS's ( all of them - for me ) tend to be the 2nd or 3rd ingredient in most shampoos and then - MINERAL OIL(and the fancy names for mineral oil)- a big no no for me and my body.

- Rudy Silva's recipe

4 oz of castile soap with any scent is that available – plain, peppermint, eucalyptus.
½ oz of rosemary - stimulates the hair follicles and helps to prevent premature baldness
½ oz of sage – has antioxidants and keeps things from spoiling and is antibacterial
½ oz of nettles – acts as a blood purifier, blood stimulator, contains a large source of nutrients for hair growth
½ of lavender – controls the production of sebaceous gland oil and reduces itchy and flaky scalp conditions
2000 mg of MSM – provides organic sulfur to your scalp, which improves the health and strength of your hair. It also helps to drive herbal nutrient into the skin and follicles where they can do the most good.
one empty 8 oz plastic bottle, or any other empty shampoo or soap bottle.
Mix the herbs in a mason jar, which has a lid. Boil 2 cups of distilled water. Add 3 heaping tablespoons of the mixed herbs into the boiling water. Pull the boiling water and herbs off the stove. Let the herb mixture sit for 30 – 40 minutes. Put the 2000mg of MSM into the herb mixture after 30 minutes of cooling. After 40 minutes and the MSM is melted, strain the herbal mixture into a bowl.
Pour 2 to 2 1/2 oz of strained herbal tea into the 8 oz plastic bottle. Now, pour the 4 oz of castile soap into the 8 oz plastic bottle. Cap the bottle and shake to mix the ingredients.
The shampoo is now finished and ready for use. Use this as a base for all of the shampoos you make. You can add different herbs as you learn what these herbs do and how they help your hair. You can vary the ingredients according to your taste. But now you have a shampoo that has no additives that can harm you.

I have been using it with success for almost two years.

2. California Baby - this is a good one

3. Baking Soda - Clarifying

4. Carol's Daughter Shampoo - Same as the Recipe above - But it is 12 BUCKS at Sephora. I have not bought this for 2 yrs....

I used ABAA before I switched in 2006

1. Cream of Nature-- (red bottle w/yellow writing) I've had this bottle
a long time, don't know if the packaging still looks like that.

2. Black Soap--great hair clarifier/scalp cleanser

3. Hesh Nikhar--Indian poo bar

4. Baking Soda--added to any old watered down shampoo

CON green!!!!!!!!!!!! It doesn't have SLS and it moisturizes and detangles like no other. You ALMOST don't even need to use conditioner after you wash with CON!!!

Vatika Henna Cream Conditioning is my favorite for now...

Tell me more. I have this in my hair pantry and have not used it. How do you use it and how often? What do you like about it? Do you follow the directions w/ amla oil or do your own thing?

I've never been big on shampoos, but I like NTM Moisturizing poo and Nexxus Theratin.

You asked for fewer chemicals so I'd highly recommend J/A/S/O/N's Sea Kelp moisturizing poo.

I agree. I do like it, I still have a little bit left but I think that it give me more of an illusion of smoothness and softness. It doesn't last and for me, in the long run, it doesn't benefit me.

My vote right now is going for elasta qp shampoo for relaxed hair. It is super concentrated and it is pH balanced. I also have joico k-pak shampoo and moisture recovery in the rotation.

Thanks very much for your input ladies.
I think I'm going to go with CON one if I cant find it online somewhere...no stockists locally!!
I have seen the new kiwi & citrus one on amazon...(two actually)
