That is how I feel. I am going to have to do a corrective next week (long story) and then I will get a trim then. I am not doing back flips about it but in t he end, holding on to damaged bits can cause more harm to the rest of your hair.

Yep, but I am not going to a salon. My friend is trimming for me in about 2 weeks. It will be more of a search & destroy mission to clip split ends though. The last time I had a salon "trim" I lost inches.

A friend got a trim last week and came home with 3 inches gone. Her fiance noticed immediately. She did even know since she had not checked a mirror before leaving the salon since it was her regular stylist :-( She had a wedding hairstyle picked out and is really upset since she only has 3 more months. She bought some prenatal vitamins to hopefully achieve faster growth.

I guess I do. I've been terrified since getting a "TRIM" is what put me in this position in the first place! I haven't had one in over a year I did the dusting myself which maybe helped, but when I get a relaxer/wash and set, they check my ends and never cut them, so I guess they're in good condition! But when I reach APL, I will trim, maybe, just because.

I am sorry about your friend. That is heartbreaking. I probably would have cried. I had a great experience at my last trim so I am going to try to go back to that guy. If he isn't there when I go then I will leave and my sister or brother help me do it instead.

I love fresh ends too. Its amazing how much better your hair flows and behaves when you get rid of bad ends. I actually should do an inch or close to it. I have been cutting off the overprocessed ends I have accumlated last year and its time for them to go. I can't realistically expect maximum length gains if I hold on to them.

I am. I was studying my ends under my 100 watt lamp bulb and I saw several split, raggedy looking ends. So I will probably do that the first week of April when I am thinking of doing a touch up. By then it will be 6 months sincce my last trim. I am gonna do it myself but I need to buy a supersharp scissors first!!!

ITA!!! Suprisingly I had very few splits but my strands started getting caught and tangled on each other.

I had a couple of splits in the front. In fact, I don't know why the front keeps spliting, its only in my bang area and I don't manipulate it much. I got fustrated a couple of weeks ago and chopped alittle off of it. None really in the back. Its just that the last inch looks alittle thin. I know what this is coming from though and I have already made the correction in my regime to prevent this from happening again. You can't really tell when I rollerset it but I can really tell when I am doing my rollersets.

I'm due , my sister will be doing the trimming on 5th of April, I'm very nervous but she's the only one I can trust , who also knows what they are doingerplexed But if I want to make full APL buy the end of June, I had better loose the split ends now.

I always get split ends in the front on the right side. I figured out my work phone was the culprit. It has one of those shoulder rest thingys attached to it. Every time I go to hang up the phone my strands were getting caught in it . Now I use a head set or pin it up out of the way.

Plus, ya know my hair grows in that stupid V tail shape!! I try to embrace it but the longer it gets the thinner it looks So when I get my hair trimmed I have them cut it in a U shape. The picture in my avatar is from December 07 so my hair is longer now but it shows my U shape.

i'm definitely due for one...i actually trimmed a few weeks ago, but i just trimmed the very very ends...my hair naturally grows in layers so i need to get the top.....but i probably won't do that until i get my touch up in abou 3 weeks

I am way over due for a trim. I plan to do a deep trim now that i am armpit length. I will take my hair back to shoulder length because of my jacked up ends. The L's and hook's are all over the place. I will do this at the end of summer and baby it there after.
