Help with clipping my ends, myself

I just grabbed a section of hair (around 12 total), trimmed, and braided each section after I was done so I didn't double trim any areas. My hair was already pretty even to start with so I just made sure that I trimmed off roughly the same amount every section.

Have any tips on making the process easier. I want to try to get it as even as possible.

I'm gonna be keeping a close eye on this thread, cause I need a trim too. And I DO NOT trust stylists!

comb your hair out so there are no tangles. Comb your hair straight back and secure a ponytail holder at the base. Slide the ponytail holder down to the end of your ponytail and trim straight across right above the holder. It will be an even blunt cut. This is the method I use :yep:

Thanks I will try this tonight. I think I'll do the ponytail thing first and if i need to then seperate into chunks and trim. I have some layers that may not get reached by doing the pony tail think.

I'm in need of a trim badly :perplexed so even if I take a bit more its ok, this one time.

me either...
however, I already scheduled an appointment with a new stylist tomorrow.
He's a guy (not that it makes much difference)....so I hope he won't scalp me bald! :perplexed

The last time I attempted a self trim, I looked a hot mess!!! :nono: So I need someone to do it for me, because my ends are HORRIBLE!!!

However that ponytail holder method sounds pretty easy....

^^FindingMe, I just made a thread about this because everyone I've seen do this method is BSL or beyond, so I don't know if this would work on medium length hair. Is your hair SL? Do you need to improvise on any of the steps because your hair isn't as long?

I just replied on your other thread with pics...

I am 1 inch short of APL and did not vary the method at all. I used it exactly as she said and it came out great. I actually ended up cutting almost an inch off (I think you can still follow the method and not cut that much off...), but I needed to get rid of some sgraggles and layers and now I just really want blunt ends. I will probably do another trim again this summer when I reach full APL to take off an inch of the last of my short layers...

Thanks girl! :D

Right after I posted that question, I saw that you had answered me in my thread. Your hair looks great!
