Re-invent yourself challenge....

Ok here is my list of what i need to re-invent about myself...

Face: try and get rid of the little darks marks that are on my face. increase my water intake.

Hair: make it to APL by June/July 2008 (god willing). maintain that FRESH hair look everyweek.

Body: my body is not that bad but i can still work on improving by working on my arms, legs and back. so i am going back to the gym starting 3/1!!

Wardrobe: IT REALLY NEED HELP!!! I have not purchased anything in about 3 months for myself. all my fuinds go to fixing up my apartment. ok, i told myself april is the month for my wardrobe.

Count me in!!

I've given myself 6 weeks to loose a few pounds, get my skin flawless again, hair strong, eating the right food, time for myself to relax twice a week, exercise 5 times a week; this includes a brisk 30 minute walk in my lunch break from Monday, more time reading, to have positive mental attitude, stick to my budget plan for the next 6 weeks, buy some new clothes end of April at my new size UK 12 (one size smaller than I am now).

I am soooooooooooo down to join this challenge.

I would like to re-invent EVERYTHING!

Hair: I would like it to be strong, healthy, growing and knot-free. That's gonna take a lot of TLC, sticking to my regimen (which includes Ayurveda and MN,) making sure I take my vits (want to add biotin and evening primrose oil) and excercising regularly, which brings us on to my other goal

Body: I would like to lose another fifteen pounds (Just lost fifteen - took forever and slacked off for a couple of weeks, but I'm back on it!) I need some abs in my life. I need to tighten up all around. I would also like to work on having flawless skin. I want to be able to walk around without make-up and not feel like everyone's looking at my dark marks!!! To acheive these goals I am planning on eating healthy and eliminating ALL junk from my diet and excercise 4-5x's per week (making sure I holla at the sauna!)

Wardrobe: I definitely need to update the wardrobe. Most of my clothes are SUPER old and don't reflect my personality now. To acheive that I'm going to have to keep in mind that I have needs to and not feel guilty buying an outfit here and there.


I would like to reinvent my self because I am only 27 years old and although I am married with two kids, I am still young, talented and beautiful and I want that to show.

How do you oil wash your face? That sounds interesting. That will help you get rid of your dark spots?
 
So I have been thinking for a while now about ALL the things that I want to do for myself: change my wardrobe, grow my hair to my shoulders, clear up these last few dark marks on my face and have a killer body by June. I thought this may be a good idea for anyone who felt that it was time for a "spring cleaning". Anything that you would like to do for yourself, that you have been putting off for a while, or taking your time on. LETS GET TO IT!


The challenge will be for 3 months, starting March 1 and ending June 1

1) What would you like to "re-invent" (no limit)
2) Why you would like to?
3) What steps are you going to take to reach each goal?


I will start first.....

1) My skin, my body, my hair length and wardrobe

2) I need to bring my Sexy back. Going on four years of being with my SO, I have realized that I have gotten comfortable. I started looking back at some old pictures of myself and was like, man I was a fox. I need to get back there again, for me.

3) My skin: UP my water intake. Oil washing and sunscreen daily. Exfoliate my face 2x a week.

My body: I just got a trainer, so I will have to push myself to be up at 5am 3 days a week and then do my carido on the in between days. I must cut out the fast foods and up the fruit and veggies. I want a flatter tummy (slight six pack definition), toned legs again, and strenthen the muscles behing my :blondboob so that are slighty more perky. I will start off with my Miso soup (seaweed) again, and try to eat 6 smaller meals a day.

My hair length: I am going to braid it up. Conrowns every two weeks and a rest week in btwn. I will stay on my vitamins and my MN (works wonders) to acheive maximum growth. At the end, I will texlax again.

Wardrobe: I work TOO DAMN HARD, to not dress the way I want to. I always find myself buying cheaper clothes to pay a bill here or eat out there. NO MORE... I can still bargain shop, but I am not cutting myself short anymore. To start off I am giving away a bunch of clothes. (I have already given away 3 bags, 2 more to go)

I told my coworker yesturday I was having a challenge that would start March 17-June 17. She had 15lbs she wants to lose and I have 20 more I want to get off. So now I just have another place to hold me accountable for making changes, which is great.

I will post more details later.

I'll post my goals later. I'm at work now, but I want in before the deadline. I decided that the first day of spring, March 20th, will be my new year. I know there is so much more to me and I'm not giving my all in many aspects of life and I want to start.:yep:

There are so many aspects of my life that I want to re-invent and start over NEW. I'm just afraid that I'll set all these goals and won't be able to attain them. :ohwell:

Dont be afraid. Fear is the challenge to get over... Visualize your goal and knock down any obstacle that may cause you not to get there.

This challenge is on time. I want to do some personal "spring cleaning."

Hair:

I want to have at least 2 inches by June. I want to start wearing my hair in different styles. Continue my other challenge and to drink more water. Stick to my vitamins.

Body:

I plan on cutting out soda. Start doing some kind of at home workout (with gas being so high it is hard going to the gym). Stop eating fast food.

Skin:

My face isn't bad, but there is alway room for improvement. Plan to finally have a regimen. Do the stretch mark challenge. Drink more water.

Other:

Wear make up more. I plan to buy something with each paycheck. Wear better clothes. Break away from jeans and t's.

I will try to post updates. I think I will give this challenge its own folder in fotki. I will try to post new hair, make up, and outfits in it.

body - I want to lose 20ls if possible. I have been thinking about trying the ABS Diet - there is a thread on it in the Health and Fitness forum. I also want to try a detox plan and a better vitamin regimen. I also have stretch marks I want to minimize. And I want to try waxing or other more permanent body hair removal.

hair- grow my natural hair more, try more natural products and homemade recipes, and I really want a red tint to my hair so I want to experiment w/ henna. I also want to get quality tools like ghair combs from honeyfig.com, etc.

entrepreneurship - I want to start selling all natural hair products online

wardrobe - if I lose weight then I will treat myself to some new clothes

finances - get a better job and start earning more money
(maybe even get a new man :lachen:)
 
I couldn't have read this post at a more timely moment just as I was starting to feel like I'm sick of the me I am. I really need to re-invent and improve my current me. So my goals

Hair - stick to refining and perfecting my current hair regimen and decide whether I want to transition or not - if not then relax at the end of march.


Body - sigh I need to get to my final weight goal - I've lost 45lbs over the last year but it's time to step up my game and stop languishing at this weight and get to my goal weight 30lbs leaner. I already set my weekly weight goals so I will keep sticking to them. And I want to get my guns back which have really gone south with the winter - at least 3-4 days a week in the gym from here on out

Wardrobe - I actually have a pretty good wardrobe but I'd like to flesh it out more with professional clothing suitable for my career. And of course as I lose more weight replace a few things....

Skin - I want glowing happy skin - I've been working on my natural regimen. I am developing my own antioxidant oil moisturizer but I'd like to start exfoiliating more and maybe peeling once a month or so at home.

Spirit - I want to start praying more everyday and getting more in touch with the Lord

Mind - I'd like to take a spanish class this summer so that I will be able to speak spanish with more of the patients in the hospital which I will probably start in June.


I'm really glad I saw this post because I need to start focusing more on myself and taking better care of my mind.

I'm still a newbie, but I would like to join this challenge. I'm a student and sometimes I just don't care about the way I look, but I should. I'm cheap, and I need to change that, and buy stuff I want, and that's good. I will have to add more things to my list later. But please let me join.

Are you reading my mind or what? I was just saying today that I'm on a total life makeover. My plans for the next 19 months & what I'm currently doing to make them a reality:

1. Getting rid of acne scarring & taking charge of my having better skin (to include my butt ugly back). Currently I'm doing microdermabrasion infused w/a bleaching agent every other week & I'm about to do the Dr. Natura Colonix (it'll be delivered on Tues.) which I think will also help keep it clear. When I've cleared my face, then I'm going to also have the microdermabrasion done to my back.

2. Get rid of these hideous tattoos on my arm. I'm scheduling my 1st appointment next week. I found out that it's not going to cause me to go into debt to have them removed.

3. Get back down to a size 4/6. I'm hoping that the Dr. Natura Colonix will give me the much needed boost to get back into exercising and shed the 33 pounds that I need to achieve this goal. Apart of this goal is to also get back to the very healthy eating lifestyle that I once maintained.

4. Wardrobe update - trying to figure out what's age appropriate yet very fashionable. I'm not working on this one as of yet b/c I really want to lose weight first. If I buy clothes now I will have to either have them all altered or get rid of them altogether.

5. Last but not least, HAIR!!!! My goal is to be BSL in 19 months. Currently I'm in tree braids. When I take these out either I'm going to get tree braids again or a sew-in. Right now I'm leaning towards the sew-in. My plan is to wear sew-ins, braids, wigs, etc. for the next 19 months w/basically no breaks to achieve this goal.

On a final note, I've decided to journal daily to kinda check myself to make sure I'm doing something daily to achieve my goals. :yep:

1. WEIGHT GAIN WEIGHT GAIN THIS INCLUDE TONING AND BUILDING MUSCLE OPPOSE TO BEING SO FRAIL AND WEAK.
CONTINUE TO TAKE GREAT CARE OF MY HAIR. I WOULD LOVE TO BE BSL BY SUMMER.
CLEAR MY SKIN, STARTING MY DIFFERIN GET AND ANTIBIOTICS HOWEVER IM GOING TO SEE ABOUT LUSTRA CREAM. GET FACIALS, MASSAGES,MANIS, AND PEDIS AS NEEDED.
2. BUILD MY CAREER AS A FREELANCE WRITER.
3.EAT HEALTHIER
4.TRAVEL
5.JOIN A YOGA CLASS
6. KEEP IN TOUCH WITH FRIENDS AND NETWORK LIKE CRAZY....

I have been thinking about this for a while now but have been too busy to put my plan in gear!

My skin: Doing good in this area but I need to get back on my regular veggies that always seem to help keeping my skin smooth and clear.

My body: I live only 10mins walk from the gym so from monday I will be in there before my lectures and a run in the evening. I would like to drop atleast 20 pounds by end of June. With my graduation coming up I want a killer power suit for my presentations!:grin:

My hair length: I will try and wash my hair twice weekly to afford product build up and make way for growth with clean and clear scalp. Also be consistent with my vits as I would like to see if I can push my growth to .75 - 1'' a month till june...

Wardrobe: With point two, when the weight starts to drop off I can endulge myself and renew my wardrobe...this has been a long time come.

COUNT ME IN!! I am taking no prisoners on this one I will have no excuse not to be in the gym or have more time to deal with my hair now that uni assignments have calm down.:rolleyes:

I'm in! I need to do this badly. What are the requirements? Should we just check in daily/weekly about how we are doing and stuff?

Physically
  • I want to get the body that I always desired. 3 months might not be enough time to get that but, I want to be half way there in 3 months. (Lose 20 pounds)
  • Have better skin. I will come up with a regimen that will include dry body brushing and daily exfloiating in the shower and I will try to get rid of my stretch marks. If that doesn't happen I will find a good way to hide it.
  • Minimize my pores and follow my face regimen.
  • Have healthier, shiny, black, strong hair (SL or APL-we shall see)
  • Basically take care of myself from head to toe.
  • Buy or start saving up for a whole new wardrobe and give my clothes to charity/people back home/stuff with tags that I never worn, sell on ebay and throw everything else away.
Mentally
  • Be more positive and surround myself with positive people. (Reading books/meditation,yoga,pilates,exercise) Living a healtheir lifestyle and listening to music also helps me rid my mind of any negative thoughts and stress.
  • Keep Praying and thanking God
  • Make a Vision Board
Health
  • Eat/Drink Healthy
  • Make exercise a habit
  • Take better care of myself
  • Cleanse/Detox
Finacially/Career/etc.
  • Graduate
  • Find a job so I can pay of bills and start my savings plan.

Now that ive had time to think about it.....

I want to reinvent my hair and my body.

2) Why you would like to?
I would like to do this because ive been saying that i'm going to loose 30 pound and grow my hair long because i need change. i have a great career, i have great kids. i need to do something for me now that i can afford it.

3) What steps are you going to take to reach each goal?
That $40 gym membership that ive been paying for about 2 years:nono:, i'm going to use it 3 times a week doing 30 minutes cardio and 30 minutes weights:cry:. clean up the way i eat. steady plodding 2 pound per week. As for my hair, i am going to continue with what ive been doing. My sister say that i have hair now, somehow i dont feel like i have hair:crossfingers:. i am going to continue journaling my hair progress, i will start journaling my weight progress and i am going to continue to pray to God for guidance and wisdom in the hair and body department. and i am going to start a spiritual journal.:grin: :amen:
