Re-invent yourself challenge....

So I have been thinking for a while now about ALL the things that I want to do for myself: change my wardrobe, grow my hair to my shoulders, clear up these last few dark marks on my face and have a killer body by June. I thought this may be a good idea for anyone who felt that it was time for a "spring cleaning". Anything that you would like to do for yourself, that you have been putting off for a while, or taking your time on. LETS GET TO IT!

The challenge will be for 3 months, starting March 1 and ending June 1

1) What would you like to "re-invent" (no limit)
2) Why you would like to?
3) What steps are you going to take to reach each goal?


I will start first.....

1) My skin, my body, my hair length and wardrobe

2) I need to bring my Sexy back. Going on four years of being with my SO, I have realized that I have gotten comfortable. I started looking back at some old pictures of myself and was like, man I was a fox. I need to get back there again, for me.

3) My skin: UP my water intake. Oil washing and sunscreen daily. Exfoliate my face 2x a week.

My body: I just got a trainer, so I will have to push myself to be up at 5am 3 days a week and then do my carido on the in between days. I must cut out the fast foods and up the fruit and veggies. I want a flatter tummy (slight six pack definition), toned legs again, and strenthen the muscles behing my :blondboob so that are slighty more perky. I will start off with my Miso soup (seaweed) again, and try to eat 6 smaller meals a day.

My hair length: I am going to braid it up. Conrowns every two weeks and a rest week in btwn. I will stay on my vitamins and my MN (works wonders) to acheive maximum growth. At the end, I will texlax again.

Wardrobe: I work TOO DAMN HARD, to not dress the way I want to. I always find myself buying cheaper clothes to pay a bill here or eat out there. NO MORE... I can still bargain shop, but I am not cutting myself short anymore. To start off I am giving away a bunch of clothes. (I have already given away 3 bags, 2 more to go)

I'm innnnnn.... I love re-inventing myself. I know it sounds weird, but I do it all the time. I'll be back tomorrow.
 
funny you should post this because I have been planning to "reinvent" myself. The company I work for is closing the Baltimore, MD site and I have chosen not to relocate to another location. I think this is my opportunity to really reinvent myself, or should I say strive to be more like the person I always viewed myself to be before I got too comfortable with my life.

I want to get serious about my hair (I am not really). I recently decided to start getting my relaxer touch ups professionally done because when I do I tend to be able to stretch longer which will help my hair length goals.

I am also trying to lose 15 pounds. I have been trying all year, but lately my efforts have been paying off because I think I have before really serious about this.

My skin is in great order and that is a recent thing. I was having some problems but since I started using higher end products (DHC) on my skin I can tell a huge difference. Also drinking more water has helped.

I am SO ready to start wearing my favorite clothes again. I MUST lose 15 lbs. it is not an option. I am not going to buy new clothes either. I am going to LOSE this weight! How can one person gain 15 pounds in one year?!? I did. :nono: it is SO not a joke anymore.

I plan to get myself back in order by the end of June, when my job is scheduled to be over. I will be back on the job market and that will be a perfect time to be the all new Honeydew. :yep:

I just have to join this one. I've been saying this to myself since late November but have been slow doing the things to make me the person I want to be. I think this challenge will give me that extra push I so desperately need. I'll answer the questions sometime tomorrow.
 
I have been trying to reinvent myself since november. I need to accomplish a lot of things I keep saying I'll do and never do them. Funny how my list is the same as yours :yep:. I up for the challenge. I've been calling my re-invention "Erika '08"

Here's my list:
Exercise daily for 60 mins.
Grow hair SL (BSL ultimately)
Whitenen Teeth
Brush up on my tennis game
Clear up my skin

I recently ordered a set of skincare products from Paula Begeoun. I found this website for taking care of my hair :clap:. My tennis lessons start this summer. I made an appointment with BriteSmile to have my teeth whitened again. Now ,I just have to find time to exercise.:perplexed I think this weekend I will research gyms and join one this weekend.


This challeng is right up my alley!

My goals:


BODY:
1- Workout: 5-6 days/week - 30-45mins each session
AM workout: elliptical, AB training; PM workout: treadmill/alternate with exercise DVDs (Slim in 6, Taebo, CORE, etc).
Start weight training in April
Take all vitamins and supplements

2- Diet: Do a cleansing prior to starting challenge; No fast food during this 3 month challenge; Increase water intake to 100oz per day. No candy; lower carb intake - stay away from refined, white, starchy carbs; only low fat, low carb snacks (except fruits/veggies); 1 soda per day (build up to diet soda, then to no sodas); take all vitamins and supplements

SKIN:
3- Increase water; use mineral make up only when necessary, or bare skin. Do at home chemical peel every 4-6 weeks. Exfoliate 2x week. Moisturize EVERYDAY; take all vitamins and supplements

HAIR:
4- Stay committed to my hair regimen
Currently a little pass SL, on my way to BSL
(Poo) Wash 1x every 2 weeks, CW 2x week, DC 1x week, hood or air
dry
Maxiglide 1x week, or less
Stretch relaxer 12 weeks (fresh relaxer 3-1-08)
Moisturize daily
Low manipulation
Take vitamins
Take pictures to document progress
(may try Aruyvedic products - not sure yet)

SPIRIT/MIND:
5- Practice LOA (Laws of Attraction) daily; say daily affirmations; keep a positive outlook - DO NOT focus on the negative!

FINANCES:
6- No shopping for the next 3 months
7- Save money from shopping to shop for summer wardrobe!

Hair: I want to have nearly BSL hair by June. Right now, my hair is so, so close to APL. I just want two more inches by June to be satisfied with my progress this year.

After my March relaxer, I'll have a 9 week stretch and relax the weekend before my graduation. After my touch-up in March I will be doing the following:

Rollersets until week 3 post-relaxer

From then on, I will be sporting a wig, braidouts, bantu knot sets, or buns/pin-ups while cowashing daily or every other day

Nightly MN mix application up until a week before touch-up


Body: My thighs are disproportionate to the rest of my body. I have no boobs, no butt, but my thighs are ridiculous. I bought a pair of really cute, really cheap electric blue shorts from H&M that I plan to LIVE IN this summer. I need to tone up my legs.

Hour long workouts at the gym twice a week (hey, I'm a student), alternating between:

  • Elliptical machine 30 mins with 30 mins weight training.
  • 60 mins on the elliptical
We can do it :weird:!

Need some written goals!

HAIR: Improve and stick to a hair regime to reach SL by July, currently neck length, this should be possible by keeping a simple regime of washing twice a week, one will be a CW and the other full on with DC, keeping hair protected, in braids, or other protective styles. Finish using all my products before i buy new ones(almost there), then start afresh with a good product line and stick to it.

CAREER: Focus on getting the jobs i want, (self employed and stuck in a rut). Create a CV, listing my achievements and strengths. Research more into the area i want to achieve in. Make contacts

BODY: Currently working out 4 times a week, want to up my cardio to six times a week, focus more on Yoga and Pilates for that lean look and get rid of this belly monster!

Money: Take control of my finances set a weekly budget and stick to it! Save so i can shop at nicer places than Primark, lol

HOME: Find a nice new flat/house to share with clean tidy house mates( working on that one already)

Phew, will refer back to this every-time I'm losing way so excited

  • Detox
  • Stop putting things into my body that I know dont help
  • Lose 20 pounds
  • Clear my skin
  • Grow my hair
  • Wear clothes in my wardrobe before buying anything else
  • Use the products in my PJ closet before buying anything else
  • Stop watching so much TV and read more
I plan to document my journey somewhere...gotta think of somewhere semi-private...any suggestions.....
 
I'd like to join :) This will fall in perfectly with my June hair reveal.

I am usually afraid to join these challenges, because DH and I are ttc, so my weight fluctuates with my eating moods right now, but I will do my best to remain consistent.

  • Continue to eat as healthy as possible (I've been doing a good job since Jan. 1st)
  • Drink 8 glasses of water per day (haven't been drinking enough)
  • Excercise 5 days per week (hardly right now)
 
I am so all over this. Give me a minute (I'm at work and can't get into too many details) to post ALL of the area's of reinvention. GREAT and TIMELY idea.
 
Im in!

I need to reinvent my body, my skin, my hair, get back on being dedicated with my work, get a new part time job, and pass my driving test!

My body- Im a size 2/4 now and I hate it because im not fit, so I plan to be hitting the gym. Im going to start with a master cleanse from the 1st of March till the 14th or 20th if I can hang that long. going to the gym thrice a week inbetween

My skin- Ive bought a micro dermabrasion kit, I feel a bit wierd cuz in england they market in like its for old googeys and Im 20:lachen:, I use oils to mositurise, a blend of shea butter, coconut oil and cocoa butter mixed with some lavender and pepermint oil. I exfoliate every other day.

My hair: I wanted to be APL by july, but I bc'd at the end of january so all hope of that is gone. I just bought lace wog today and Im pleased. Im going to be taking care of my hair underneath so I can achieve my dream of waist lenght by my wedding!:lachen:

I cant wait to look banging!

ETA: I mean more banging, lol Ive been slipping up lately!

Ok here is my list of goals that I want to do in this challenge:

1. Hair- relax mar 1, 3 month stretch. Currently little past sl want full apl by the end of challenge. Don't quite yet have a good hair care regie. Hopefully u ladies can help with that. open for suggestions would love to cw everyday but just not sure how to style hair.

2. Body- I have been working on losing 45 pds since this year has started so I will continue with that. Looking into purchasing a body clenser.

3. Skin- Clear skin all over. Face is fine, have dark spots on back, shoulders and upper arms. Trying to research ways to imporve, open for suggestions. INCREASE WATER INTAKE

4. Money - learn to save and not spend.

5. Pray more everyday.


THe reason I am so ready for this challenge is because I turn 30 this year and I feel that it is time for a change. I is easier to do when u have support, so I am hoping that this is the support I need to really go for it. I will soon post before and after pics and will be starting a journal. Good Luck ladies. I like this challenge!

I created a list of 101 things to do in 1001 days and I've been chipping away at those things but I could use this challenge to re-focus.

I'll start my challenge on March 2nd (the 1st is my birthday and I already know I won't diet that day, lol).

My goals:

Career: Find a new job. I hope to have a new job by the end of this challenge which meets my requirements for: Pay, schedule and allows me to be creative. I also need flexible vacation time and a good benefit package.

Appearance: I want to lose some weight. For this challenge, I'll shoot for 5 lbs each month for a total of 15 pounds. To achieve this I will: Work out 4-5 days each week, start taking a Spinning class and eat 6 fruits and veggies each day. I will also avoid fast food for these 3 months.

Self-enrichment: I will take a class to learn a new skill (I am considering a beginners class for French, calligraphy or flower arranging). There are a few places offering the above classes at a low cost and I plan to take one.

Wardrobe: Complete overhaul. I've already cleaned out my closet, getting rid of items which were worn or ill fitting. I will continue to edit my clothes and focus on buying items which fit into my wardrobe and work with other items I already own. To have a tangible goal, I will make a list of items that I would like to have in place by the end of the challenge.

I can't wait to get started! This is a good time for me to reinvent myself! :)
 
I already stated this to myself, I need to be banging by summer time!

Things I need to improve:

1.Facial Skin - need flawless sunkissed beach ready skin:
steps: Weekly peels, and dead sea mud facials, more water!

2.Body skin - spotless- bikini ready -
steps: I'm already 95% there using pure unrefined shea butter daily.

3.tummy- really defined
already flat- just needs more definition - ordered the bender ball

4. hair: - APL by August - I want to wear my real hair out. I'm only 4.5 inches away
steps: keep doing what i'm doing - 99% of the time protective styling

5. Promotion - I need to advance my career
steps: getting my masters and taking some other training classes as well

6. New SO - I need someone new dammit! :lachen:
steps: 1 through 5. (hopefully, lol)

I am going to start by Making a daily check list to make sure that I am working at my goals daily.
 
Ok here is my list of what i need to re-invent about myself...

Face: try and get rid of the little darks marks that are on my face. increase my water intake.

Hair: make it to APL by June/July 2008 (god willing). maintain that FRESH hair look everyweek.

Body: my body is not that bad but i can still work on improving by working on my arms, legs and back. so i am going back to the gym starting 3/1!!

Wardrobe: IT REALLY NEED HELP!!! I have not purchased anything in about 3 months for myself. all my fuinds go to fixing up my apartment. ok, i told myself april is the month for my wardrobe.
