Roux Fermodyl Leave in 619

In the past I used the ones in the glass vials regularly( 619 among others) ... they have several serums ( each serum its own number) for various purposes.... they used to have 10-15 different formulas, now they only have 3 or 4...It can be costly because some vials(serums) cost more than others and Ive always needed two sometimes three to saturate my entire head... could end up being $10 to $15 for ONE deep conditioner session.

Ive found it works well but no better than other things that Ive found that also work.. Its a Protein conditioner FWIW

It is a major staple for me. i don't do my hair without it. It makes my leave-ins easier to apply (I use a creamy one too) and it helps detangle my hair. I find it benefits me more when I have more NG because it helps me detangle. I have skipped this step in my regimen out of laziness, or whatever and I could tell a difference. LOVE it and it is worth it - for me. But, as we all say, everything is not for everyone.

sorry to sound simple besides the detangling properties are there any more advantages to this product?.. I always see this product at sally's and always think of honeydew

I don't use 619 but I do use 233...no matter the state of my hair...619 doesn't do anything for my hair to help me. But that's just me

Sally's BOGO sale ends today so I'm gonna head over later and get somemore I already have like 20 or so of them now lol..

OH but I just saw the other day when I got a relaxer my stylist uses 619 so I figure it's just good on my hair AFTER I get a relaxer
(She is funny trying to hide the products she uses so no one will know)

Girl, thanks for reminding us of that. I need to go over a get a couple of packs to take advantage of that. Don't forget the 15% off coupon, too!

Also, I like the 233, as well. But, I only use that one after relaxers for the protein. Anyway, I think that one is good, too.

Well for me, it helps my hair with moisture and I find that I have to manipulate myhair less when apply creamy leave-ins or a moisturizer on my wet hair. It helps my hair retain moisture and makes it easier to style. I also find that my hair takes heat better. If I am flatironing, I don't have to work as hard to get my hair the way I want. It is just an all around good add-in step for me, but like I said everyone is different.

I realized I needed to keep this one when I tried them and thought they were BLAH on my hair. I did not repurchase. Then i started doing my hair without them and that is when I realized that the Fermodyl step, whether I used 619, 619 extra strength, 233, Special or any of them, was important for me to get myhair the way I wanted. I think it is worth a try. One vial is not that expensive. Then decide if it is worth it for you.

Yes girl! The last time I was in there I got 2 packs at BOGO free with my 15% coupon and the checkout lady was like "Wow you always save so much money". I was thinking - just ring up my stuff please. LOL She is always commenting on my coupons and how I only come in when there is a sale. LOL Stop hating and put my Fermodyl in the bag please. :)

OH SNAP!
Ok...where did u get this coupon...I'm about to hit up the next three sallys' I know

I wouldnt necessarily blame the Fermodyl... If your hair didnt need or had too much protein in it already ANY conditioner with protein wouldve made it hard

The regular 619 has no protein at all, which is why I prefer that one. My hair does not do well with so much protein.

Almond did you try 619 or 619 extra strength? The extra strength has protein. 233 does, as well. Anyway, even if you tried the one without protien, I have found that my beloved regular 619 does not play well with certain products. Like I find that I cannot use it with silicone loaded conditioners. Well, I can use it, but it does not absorb well and just drips. My hair feels odd. I also can't stand it in combination with CON shampoo, especially the green bottle one. I think Fermodyl and balsam does not work! Well maybe at first, but not over time. Basically I find that Fermodyl does not like build up - it wants to be your base. I have had to adjust my other products and watch the cone level in order for Fermodyl to give me the results I want from it. Also, you don't clarify right? It could be that it did not work with the other products you use.

BeyondBlessed, I attached the coupon :yep: Last day is today!

I use it and love it, I even have my mother using it now. When I was in that "try everything" phase I bought it after reading a post from HoneyDew. I co-sign to HoneyDew's post and say that my hair is always silkier when I use it as opposed to just my creamy leave in.

Everything is not for everyone but if you can get a deal at Sally's I would definetly try it. :yep:

Didnt know that the regular 619 didnt have protein.. thanks for the info

Hello ladies :yep:

Thanks for all the info you gave me. I tried this on my hair last night and I had some dryness issues with it. I may just need more deep conditioning, or I may need to pm somebody :look:. I did a lot last night because I just took out my extension twists.

It is nice to know that I can add it to my creamy leave in, I am using The Conditioner by Paul Mitchell. I have rain check for the sale from Sallys for like 10 3-packs, so I may just go get them.

I'm going to a meeting, but if anyone else has any insight lemme know.

I used 619 for the first time today aftern using silicon mix and before a creamy leave in with silicones. with a fresh perm, i was wondering my hair still had tangles. :perplexed

Well it is just based on my experience with it, but I do notice that over this year or two that I have been using Fermodyl, it just does not work out with all conditioners. I can tell when it kinda drips more. It will drip some, but I know I did something right when my hair absorbs more of it.

Silicone leave in and serums after it have been fine for me though. it is before applying it that I notice a difference.

I am mad that you were running back and forth to Sally's. LOL

It does the same thing for me. I've only used it a few times though. Someone told me it had hormones (or placenta) in it :ohwell: so I've been steering clear of it.

Those fermodyl ampoules do not have placenta in them. I am not sure what product that is on that "hormones beware" list. Maybe it was some product they used to have.
