This is what I found at ezinearticles.com.....

Tourmaline is a precious crystal that is ground down into a fine powder and then infused onto the ceramic plates of a flat iron. Tourmaline plates produce a far greater number of negative ions than do ceramic plates. Negative ions straighten your hair for far longer and give it a silkier, shinier look. So, if you're thinking of buying a flat iron you should only buy a flat iron with plates that have been plated with tourmaline.

This is got from bioionic.com.....

Ions are atoms that have gained or lost an electron and bear a charge of energy. Positive ions have lost an electron and are considered unhealthy. They are found in dust, smoke and other toxic substances. Negative ions have gained an electron and greatly assist in a body's mood, energy level and overall health......Natural negative ion energy is powerful enough to break water molecule clusters into micro-fine particles (atomization) and penetrate the hair shaft. That means moisture balance is restored and the hair cuticle is sealed.

I hope this helps.

Helps a lot! thanks!

:lachen: :lachen: No u did not threaten to hold us hostage! :p :lachen:

From what I've read (I'm currently looking ofr a REAL hair dryer too :) ), tourmaline are the best and most expensive. Our kind of hair needs this kind of blowdryer. It is the least damaging. I'm interested in the T3

Lets just say, I bought a Ionic flat iron over the weekend to flat iron my hair for my birthday party 96.00, and it was a waste of money I have 4a natural hair and it didnt get my hair straight it just smooched it, so by the end of night I was a floppy mess

I purchased a T3 hair dryer at Marshall's for $80 last month and I love it:grin: It blows out my 4a/b texturized hair straight with a brush. I use my FHI ceramic flat iron & it gets my hair silky straight..you have to follow the directions about the heat control.

I was at Sallys, needed a new flat iron, I couldn't decide between the Jilber tourmaline and the titanium tools....so which one of these is better?

There was only a 2 degree difference between them but there has to be more.
