For those of you who have type 4a/b hair, which one of these conditioners would you rate the best? :perplexed

I wasn't a fan of ORS. I like Silicon Mix. I especially like that it comes in 32oz.

aaaahhhhhhhh...I can't choose! I love them both!

I have the big 60oz of Silicon Mix so I can use it to smooth my edges every morning...YES!!

Depends on what you're looking for. ORS is most used if you feel like you need a mild protein treatment mixed with a good balance of moisture. Silicon Mix is used by many ladies here who want to soften their new growth during their relaxer stretch. Both are good and serve their purposes. Hope that helps!! :)

I love both of these.

My hair hates hard core proteins. But the mild proteins of ORS work well for me. It also provides softness. but doesn't help much with tangles.

Silicon Mix Is a heaven send for softness. Detangleing my transitioning hair was a nightmare and couldn't be done unless submerged in water until I discovered Silicon Mix.

They are both desirable products to me.

I truly love both...it's a hard call. I think ORS RP gives me more moisture while Silicon Mix provides more "slip". SO likes the smell of Silicon Mix, so that's a bonus.

I use both conditioners but Silicon Mix wins handsdown
Works better on my newgrowth than ORS pack.

Would Silicon Mix be better for relaxed hair? I'm natural. What is the price for the 32 ounce tub and the 60 ounce tub? I haven't seen it in any of the stores, but then again, I wasn't looking for it. I guess I have to order it.

Thanks for your responses, ladies.

I have natural 4a hair and I prefer Silicon Mix over the ORS pak. Silicon mix is more moisturizing for my hair.

I love ORS, but i just tried silicon mix last night because that's what the dominicans used in my hair. and it was sooo soft and had soo much slip especially after i put the praital silkworm moisturizing cream in it and i think i like it a little more than ORS it worked wonders on my ng, i could actually wear a ponytail today!!

silicon mix is a dominican conditioner, depending on where u live, u might have to order it online.

Both- One of the 'long hairs' put me deep. I put the Mix on first and a small amount of ORS on top, then plastic cap and heat for 25 mins. Perfection!
I'm tex with 4a/b.

You summed it up perfectly!

I  both

I've tried both and love both but ORS wins for me. Both are excellent detanglers and provide amazing slip; however, imo ORS replenishing pak provides long term moisture. I feel my hair remained moisturized for days (w/o needing to add moisturizer to my hair) with ORS. ORS also has better ingredients.

I don't quite understand what you mean by this statement. :perplexed

One of the lovely long haired ladies on the board, listed this as a part of her reggie in her journal. And described the slip and results. So I made it a part of my reggie also.

The sentences following this statement are self-explanatory. Thanks for your input.

Silicon Mix!!!!
There is no comparison. I heard so many ladies on this board raving about how well it detangled and the wonderful smell. I broke down one day and ordered it. I did a rollerset after my wash and condition and I was floored. Silicon Mix tremendously cut down my detangling time. My hair was so soft and I was able to easily comb through my new growth with little to no effort. There has not been a conditioner yet that I can find that has compared as far as detangling is concern.

I also like ORS RP but silicon mix is in a catergory all its own.
