Im doing well....protective stylin' and dcin'.... I do miss my straight hair though :ohwell: but Im staying focused on the prize: BSL

Bootcampin' for Brastrap
Bootcampin' for Brastrap
Bootcampin' for Brastrap

I just have to remind myself

It's going great!! I am cashing in my 1st pass today though. I'm going to the salon to get my hair relaxed, then I'll be right back on board again with the bootcamp. If I remember correctly, you said we get 1 pass per session, right??

Yes ma'am...one pass per session.

Going well. My favorite thing to do is wash my hair. I am jonesing for a blow out and flat iron but don't know when I'll do it. The later it is in the session the better. That will be/should be enough of a fix to get me through the next 3 months. the best thing I found where the clip on or comb attached buns. So easy

OKay, thanks! I've been DCing, protective styling, minimizing combing too. I am so happy and proud, I thought the no direct heat thing would be hard, it isn't bad at all! Thanks for starting this bootcamp again! BSL THIS YEAR or bust! Rollersetting will be my best friend this year...

It's been going...some weeks I've had really cute twist-outs and some weeks I've had ponytails. My only problem is that I have really short hair and I'm finding that protective styles are not so "protective" for me. For instance, when I pull it back into a ponytail, I have to pull it back ultra-tight and I think it's wreaking havoc on my hairline and I also have to use a harder brush to make it look presentable. Conversely, when I put it up into braids or something, I feel like I'm losing so much hair just from manipulation...I'm so frustrated :wallbash:

Maybe you should try some styles that over your entire head such as a wig....or maybe a sew-in. You could also focus more on low-mani styles such as wash-n-gos rather than protective ponytails. As boring as it may sound, you could always do back to back twist outs for a couple months until you gain a little more length so that the ponytails dont require as much tension. Just some suggestions....I hope it gets better for you.

This challenge has also been great for me so far because I got to do my own hair and by staying out of my stylist' chair, I've avoided having my hair flat ironed or trimmed or dusted or whatever else suits her fancy. I haven't used any of my passes as yet and probably will not this first session at all because I'm stretching out my relaxer until the month of April, 2008.

So far I've joined the Wig 2008 challenge and the Deep Conditioning Challenge for 3 months this year. So these two things I've been very active doing while submitting to the bootcamp rules as they kinda go hand in hand.

I'm very excited about the coming months up ahead and keeping my fingers crossed that I can hold out on my relaxer until at least April or May this year. My last relaxer was December 13th, 2007. My last stretch was 14 weeks so I'm going for 16 or more weeks stretch this time. Wish me luck girls.

I took my braids out yesterday and don't want to get it rebraided...my last relaxer was Sep 07 and I BC'd in Nov 07...I have to read the Boot Camp rules again because I made an appointment to go to the salon tomorrow for a relaxer...

I wish you so much luck!! You can do it too! I think this is like my 16th week and it's the longest I've ever stretched. I can't take that my hair's not laying right anymore LOL If you made it to 14 weeks, 2 extra weeks should be cakework for you:yep: My appt is at 5, so I'll be posting pics of my success so far. TTYL!

Going well but these ragedy ends are killing me. I am not cutting till end of bootcamp. Oh and I used up my one pass when I got bored one day and decided to straighten my hair:rolleyes:

Thanks for checking in on us.

I have to say everything is going GREAT on my end...my last relaxer was 12/1/07 and stretching until 7/08 (god willing)....bunning my hair 7 days of the week....let's see what else....oh yeah joined a couple of other challenges as well.

Just basically sticking to my reggie, which i need to post on foki.

Lastly, have not used my free pass yet. I plan to use my first pass in session 3 to check my hair process and for my sisters 30th bday party. WISH ME LUCK!!!

I've been doing really good. Protective styles, no direct heat, deep conditioning a few times a week. I joined the Deep Condition challenge and my hair's been actin so right! I'm gonna relax this coming Monday, though. I'll be 14 weeks post. I would wait longer, but I'm gonna be having this boy soon, and I don't want to chance lookin a HAM at the hospital!

The challenge is going well for me. I have been consistently wearing protective styles and deep conditioning.

So far so good. I did use my one pass for the month. I found me a great line of products that work great with my hair (joico I own everything)

I now want to incorporate more water into my regiment again. I have also been trying some new styles. This bootcamp hasn't been too hard on me... I don't feel the need to give up. Im more anxious than anything. Good Luck to everyone the Bootcamp!

I LOVE LHCF BOOTCAMP!!!

things are going well!

i've been in twists for 16 days so far

i went for a couple weeks without rinsing/conditioning
because i was afraid i'd have to remove my twists too soon

but i cleansed/dc'ed on day 12 and it turned out well
i think because i kept my hair stretched (hair bands)
i'll do it again on monday night.

i used the one and only pass i'm going to be using
for this entire challenge before i put the twists in

all other twists sets will be done on airdryed/band stretched hair

It's going smoothly for me. I was a little worried about protective stying with such short hair but I've discovered half wigs and I'm all set. I haven't used my pass yet. I'm good to go.

I mixed neem, amla, aritha, shikakai powders with one beaten egg, 1 teaspoon of castor oil and olive oil, adding rosewater and glycerine made into a smooth paste and I applied to my hair, massaging my scalp.

I have noticed that the back of my hair has stretched a bit, not sure how much. I made a conditioner using Dove conditioner for Dark hair, one packet of gelatine, olive oil, castor oil, one beaten egg, 3 teaspoons of coconut milk powder, 1 tsp of blackstrap molasses, mixing into a paste and leaving on my hair for about 1 hour.

I twisted my hair and I seem to get less frizz and it appears much neater. I am hoping it if remains neater for the next seven days.

I have to say I have it on lock . This is my first bootcamp EVER and combined with the wig challenge it's been really great. I don't have to worry about using heat on my hair to make it look presentable etc because it's all covered by my wiggies. I am DCing with EVERY wash and scalp massaging, and really just learning what works for my hair. I really want to be at chin length by June and I haven't relaxed by hair since Nov. 19th of last year so...yeah it's going alright. I'm finding I love my natural texture more and more....sigh....I'm not sure I can handle going natural though we'll see . I am grateful I found this challenge though. It's helping me learn the most about my hair that I ever have. P.S. I haven't used any passes or anything like that yet. I'm planning on relaxing in April...maybe

Thanks for the vote of confidence HAIRapy and I'll be waiting to see your progress pics.

This bootcamp is a piece of cake for me....washin' and goin' everyday :yep: even in this cold @$$ weather. :look: I won't be using a pass until the end of my countdown ticker. :)

It is going very well! I can't wait to post my 3 month Pic on March 31, I have some great growth!!!! I have just been Co-washing and all that good stuff!

Good to see Everyone doing Great!!!!! Let's Keep It Up!!

Bootcamp has been great so far. I'm following my regimen and staying away from the heat, I think I've decided to get braids for the next session since I'm stretching.

I am going to have to use one of my passes. I want to blow out my hair so I can do a length check. I have been in protective styles for a while. I have been using amla oil and co-washing at night. Co-wash has really add the moisture back in my hair.

Everything is going well for me. I used my pass and went to the Dominican salon for a wash. I dc twice a week and mostly rollersetting and wearing ponytails. Bootcamp has been a breeze so far. I decided I would transition (11 wks post) but I hope that things continue to go smooth. I am going to start doing twists/braid outs.

Well the start of my bootcamp challenge started rocky. I used direct heat once and my rollersetting attempts have all been miserable, except for the last one. It's getting better now, I dc with every wash and stick with low maintenance styles and I'm determined to get the rollersetting down path this year.

So far so good. Protective styling and daily co-washing or rinsing. Still holding out to trim in April, but i've npticed a couple of splits that i might just S&D.

I am doing great! Keeping it simple, just doing twist outs for now. I am trying to do more styling with my hair. I am loving my hair each day, more and more! I have been wearing my hair out (without weaves) for only a couple of months, and It is adjusting quite well. I am going to stick it out all 4 sessions!

Please checkout my fotki if you like, no pw needed. I just updated!
