You could mix it. I don't like it alone either. I mix it with my Fantasia IC Straigtening serum. I love it when I used it that way. ALONE was a big :nono:

HIT:
*Using Vatika oil in my henna mix. NICE - it gave the paste a nice consistancy and made it easier to apply.

MISS:
*Vatika oil for my daily oil. are they kidding me with that bottle? I cannot see myself trying to squeeze that out onto my hands everyday. it is great in my henna, though.

HUGE MISS:
*Swastik Shikaiki shampoo soap :nono:

Swastik-Shikakai-Soap-Big.gif

OKAY first I did not notice the name when I saw it in the store. I just saw "Shikaiki soap". Now I know the swastika is not bad on its on, but you all know what it represents to us. Anyway, I opened the bar and it has a big imprint of a swastika and the words "Shikaiki Soap" on it. It is not so "vanilla" looking as it was in the wrapper that also had a nice picture of a pretty Indian woman on it. Anyway, guess what? I tried it anyway. I HATED IT! I hope that the other brand of shikaiki soap is not like this one! It smelled like old lady vintage avon soap and it made red suds that got all over my shower. It took a long time and several latherings to get enough suds to get all over my hair. My hair did not feel clean and soft, but coated. 2 thumbs down! This has turned me off of shampoo bars. I will stick with my shampoos. (I threw out the soap!)

Oh my gosh, HoneyDew, I bought that soap too and didn't even notice the swastika... I need to pay more attention. I just saw "shikakia soap bar" in the Indian store and picked it up. It was the only one they had.

Either way, I tried to make a lather with it and couldn't take the smell, so I just used my shampoo.

But Alma oil for prepoos is still a HIT for me!!! :yay: I will use that stanky oil for as long as they make it.

HIT: Dove Sheer Moisture Leave-in Replenishing Mist (original formula w/silk amino acids).

I finally found some bottles and now I'm on a hunt to find some more.

[/b]

Try it with heat and a plastic cap for about 30 min. I almost didn't want to put anything else in my hair because my 4b hair was like butter.

:yep: Mango is right about this! With the heat, my hair comes out so soft, silky, and detangled. Perfect!!

ORS replenishing pack

I left it on for an hour using a plastic cap and no heat and my hair was very moisturized and soft so detangling was a breezing.

I am adding this one to my staples

HIT:

ABBA Nourishing leave-in conditioner

I LOVE IT! It made my hair feel moisturized without feeling greasy.

I did not think I liked it at first because my hair had a lot of volume after it was done, but now realize that I love this stuff and the volume my hair has. This one is a keeper!

Aveda Brillant Conditioner- I am going to go ahead and give this a HIT! I needed a detangling rinse afterwards but my hair has extra bouncy and swang to it. Smell is to die for and I only used a little bit. This tube should last me a good while.

Glad you likey!

*nodding head...:yep:*

Most times I just leave it on my head without added heat (just body heat) for a few hours with a plastic cap while I do other things

Hit:
-Victoria Secret So Sexy Shampoo and Conditioner...VERY moisturizing. But the smell didn't last that long.
-Organix Vanilla Silk Conditioner :lick:
-Redken Smooth Down Heat Glide

Miss:
-Redken Smooth Down Butter Treat :nono: I wanted to like it sooo bad. My hair actually felt DRY when I was rinsing it out. Just horrible. Good thing I bought the small sample bottle.

Still waiting to try: Redken Extreme Rescue Force and Redken All Soft Velvet Whip.

Hits:

Vatika Oil- I had been hearing about it for 5 years and I finally gave in. I love the smell of coconuts and have been using regular ol coconut oil for years, but I am happy with this purchase.

Swastik Shikakai Bar- After oiling my hair heavily, I washed with this bar and I loved it. I am learning how to become a hippie and I believe some Ayurvedic products will help my transition.

Orange Peel Rinse- I boiled some orange peels in water and then let it cool. I poured it over my hair as a final rinse and my hair and skin were extremely supple.

Liked very much but will not purchase again:
  • Dabur Amla Oil- works great as a pre-poo but I will stick with olive oil and coconut oil. I think I had a good batch because it didn't smell bad... yet it didn't smell good.
  • Hesh Shikakai Oil-same as above.
  • Hesh Brand Herbs- I use these products as pastes for conditioning but I like the soap bars better. They remind me very much of the Hennalucent that I used to use 5 years ago.
Miss:
ORS Lye Olive Oil Relaxer Regular- It's no secret that no relaxer works at all on my hair and now we can add this one to the long list. I will try this again in March on clarified, straightened hair to see if it will work better next time. I actually recommend it to anyone else though.

Hey! I think you might be a long lost cousin. I looove Organix Vanilla Silk, I hated the Butter Treat, and I know :yep: that you will love the Rescue Force and the Velvet Whip! The Rescue Force is rich and creamy and will leave your hair very strong, but detangled and moisturized. It's great!

:yep: I knew you would like it! I always heard you talking about the other ABBA products that you use and I decided to give it a try. Nice, right?

HIT:

GHEEEE!! YIPEEE!! It melts into my hair and the one I purchased doesn't have a strong odor to it.

MISSES:

Once I finish my bottles of Wave Nouveau and S-Curl I will NEVER use it again. It made my hair gummy, when detangling should have been a breeze it made it 10x worse, and it never really moisturized. My hair felt like it was sitting on it. I'm going to try and find a decent moisturzizer yet again!

Is is very nice! I am impressed. My hair is retaining lots of moisture with it and I used it on Saturday night. I have still been moisturizing my ends, but I can really tell that my overall moisture level is better. I also noticed that when I used my Carusos on it Saturday, the curls were fuller and just better than they normally are.

I have 2 versions, though. I have a bottle that has lupin protein and one that has keratin protein. I think the one with keratin is older because now they say their products are vegan friendly. Oh well, I will use both!

ya'll gone laugh at me for this one!!

Baking Soda wash. Oh my gawwwwddd. My hair has never been so soft. It was amazing. WHAT ON EARTH TOOK ME SO DOGGONED LONG TO TRY IT.

HITS: Elasta QP dandruff Shampoo, Conditioning Shampoo, Intense, DPR-11 (mixed with ORS replenishing), Silk, and Oil Recovery Moisturizer

Girl me too, I started using these products last Oct. and haven't looked back since. I love the Recovery Oil Moisturizer, finally a moisturizer that works for my hair. I also use the Shampoo for Relaxed hair and the Intense Cond. which I love, love, love.

HITS:
Dove Moisture Mist:grin: Even in this bone-chilling cold my hair is super moist. I can't believe that a watery mist is working better than a creamy moisturzier, but it is. Now if I can just find a whole bunch more I'll be set.

Porosity Control

Nairobi Foam Wrap-I like it just as much as BB Foam Butter Wrap Lotion :yep:

HIT

Rinsing with Nexxus Ensure and HydraSleek mixed together. Hair is detangled, soft, moisturized, and smooth like what! :yep:

HIT: vibrating scalp massaging Hair brush.

I really LOVE this thing. I got it to stimulate my crown area. It is slow growing and the scalp gets dry in that area. I think my blood flow there is just not as good. So I got this brush. I have been using it for a month and I have seen an improvement over all in that area. I don't really brush with it in the traditional way, but it works better than anything I have ever tried, including my fingers.

I got it from ebay.
