BIG FAT MISS...SEDU FLAT IRON! I SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN AN FHI:wallbash:
This was the second time using this iron and I've had better results with a golden hot $20 iron! I wasted $$$ on this stupid thing, don't believe the hype...jmo.

I am with you on this one. I do love how light it feels, but it just did not get the job done like other irons have for me.

Big Hit:

Sprite shower filter
Aloe vera and filtered water spritz
Shikakai hair soap
VO5 Juicy Mango Passion conditioner (if you come across this at the dollar store or Big Lots, buy it; it has like 11 hair-friendly ingredients like aloe vera, panthenol, vitamin E, various fruit extracts, and only costs a dollar)

Not a Miss, but Expected More:
Nubian Heritage Raw Shea Butter Daily Moisture Hair Mist
Sheamoisture Shea Butter Leave-in Conditioner

ETA: Another hit is sealing with ghee.

Sunsilk Straighten Up Creme!!!! Is makes my hair so moist and straight. LOVE. IT. Bye Bye Garnier Sleek and Shine.

Chi Silk Infusium - Didn't do anything for me!
Ojon Try Me Kit - Too much money!!! My poor Mom spent so much on my present

Hit:

VS So Sexy poo and con (Dry and damage formula)

Me likey!!!!! I smelled it in the bottle and was a little :ohwell: but I said my girls, LHCF, have yet to steer me totally wrong so why not. I bought the trial size and I am going back for the larger bottles. The scent is not over bearing at all that was one of my worries. The poo is nice doesn't leave my hair stripped which is always a plus. The con is the show stopper! It is thick! Maybe a bit much but I added a little water to thin it out. My hair feels really nice but I am one week post. I did DC with Kenra IET and avocado oil for about one hour without heat and then left on the VS for about 2 minutes as a rinse out.

Has anyone added Silk Amino Acid or any type of protein to VS to give it the ummph? I am a little shook about using it by itself.

VS So sexy Styling creme

Nice, leaves the hair soft and slicks down edges.

You know I cannot use it when I have lots of new growth. During that time, my hair tests me anyway! I can't be using no VS So Sexy when it is touchup time.

Agreed! I haven't used it by itself yet, just as a rinse out con. I am going to mix it with SAA and maybe a dash of wheat protein.

Maybe I will try the Sheamoisture on dry hair because it is just not working well at all when my hair is damp either.

HITS

DCing on dry hair and then using diluted shampoo!:cloud9:
Frederick Fekkai Shea Butter Hair Mask--this conditioner was so nice! It has a paste-like consistency and it moisturized like no body's business. I haven't had a hairgasmic experience like this in a lOooong time. Naturals might want to check this one out! It made my hair so soft and when I forgot to detangle under the shower and my hair was still soft and the comb just glided through. Fine haired ladies this may not be for you!

*looks around for a Gym sighting (see the red, undelined above):look:....*

Hits:
Kemi Oyl - Not too heavy and smells really good. I'll keep this as a scalp oil.
Fantasia IC Ice - I bought this because the store didn't have my EQP Glaze. I think I like this one!!! Smells nice, too.

Hits-

  • Trader Joes Aloe Vera Gel: I dunno why I stopped using Aloe Vera but I recently 'remembered' about it, and my hair is happy that I did. I bought the Trader Joes brand the other day, no partcular reason, just happened to be in TJs and picked it up. I like it alot. :yep: I used it on my nieces hair last weekend, she is a 3c. It defined her curls like CRAZY. I let it air dry and babygirl was fly. :p I wish I had taken a pic.
  • DCing on dry hair w/ ORS Hair Mayo: I know this one has been said 1000 times on LHCF, but I never really TRULY tried it til last night. I sat under the dryer for 25 mins then rinsed out in the shower. My hair felt really stong but not hard. This morning after flat ironing, my hair looks great and HEALTHY. I added a shot of Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein to it for an extra kick. I keep touching my hair...
  • Carol's Daughter Hair Balm: Picked this product up on a whim @ Macy's earlier this week. I liked the smell so I went along with it. At first I thought it was gonna be too heavy for my hair. But I use very little and it makes my hair really soft and feels moisturized. I used it to seal my leave in last night, and I'm thrilled with the result. I'm gonna keep using it for a while, but I think this is a keeper.
  • Carol's Daughter Black Vanilla Leave in for Dry Hair: Again, picked up on a whim. (The lady at the Carol's Daughter counter was playing Jill Scott and had a nice smile, so I couldn't help but wander over...  ) I tried it for the first time last night. I've always thought my hair needed creamy leave ins... but this is a liquid spray. So I was a bit nervous. But I actually like it alot. I love the smell of vanilla, so that was no problem (it wasn't overWHELMING, but it's definitely a vanilla scent). After I sprayed it throughout my wet hair, I touched my hair and was suprised! It felt soft! I dunno what I was expecting. Anywho, gonna give it a shot for a few weeks and determine if it's really for me.
That's all I got for now. No misses. Yay. :)

Lacio Lacio.
:look:

I will never doubt the powers of imports.

that is all.
:lachen: Oh Lawd..

I will not be a PJ and buy imports.

I rinsed with alma powder(made a tea), afterwards i dc with a homemade conditioner(cure care conditioner, honey, evoo, alma oil). My hair came out beautiful. I am realizing less is better for me. I was shedding like crazy until i began incorporating the indian powders in my regime.

My cousin uses this in her and her daughters hair, they are both natural. She seems to really like it. I have had such bad experiences with the CCD hair products... I am scared to try it.

Ive been using this for a while but I haven't posted it-
HIT: MOP Leave in. It really leaves my hair soft and conditioned & Mega Care oil tube Carrot and Aloe oil. Nice light oil, cheap and smells good.

Miss (but still useful)-
Mega Care oil tube: Grapeseed combo & Vitamin E combo tube oils. The smell was wayyyyy to perfumey. I could never use this as a sealant and leave the house.:perplexed I have been mixing it with my DC to get rid of it.

Big Hit: Kids Organics Shea Butter Detangling Moisturizing Hair Lotion

Miss
Shakikai soap bar - I sectioned my hair to wash and I noticed one section of my hair felt instantly dry. I didn't notice this the first time I've used it:ohwell:. Glad I didn't use it on my whole head this time around.

Paul Mitchell the conditioner

I was looking for a creamy moisturizing leave in that would help me detangle my hair after using some conditioners that wouldn't always give me slip. I tried this after using Kenra MC and I was in heaven. Its a bright blue translucent color and feels really good in my hands. You can also use it as a body moisturizer too.

HITS
I'm almost afraid to list anything...I heard about some "New York City hefflets" buying up all the good products...:look:  Wouldn't want that to happen out here, but here goes...

Baby Magic Baby Bath (yes, for bathing. Hard water + soap free = )

MISSES
Safflower oil and mango butter mix :ohwell:
