Thanks I will try the Chi Silk Infusion with another product.
My hair hated this brand of Shikakai soap also, left it dry and dull.
Mine too. I wanted to try it again to see if maybe I was using it wrong. It didnt do anything for me. I will try it one more time after I do a oil pre poo. This might be one product that doesnt agree with my hair. :ohwell:

Oh yeah cuz, it was nice and tingly. My scalp felt good :yep: and my hair felt strong afterwards. I didn't have time to pick up the Aphogee heavy duty treatment, so I tried this out instead.

With a Pantene mask chaser following, didn't have any tangling issues.

A lot of people that would use the UBH Conditioner would complain about the tangling afterwards, but it says on the instructions to follow it up with a moisturizing conditioner.

So, that will be my one product that got me started on my journey that I'm going back to...old school/keep it simple in '08..

Ohhhhhh...and your hair is looking  hair cuz! Jose and Maria you're looking good!!!

Are u talking about the Shikakai bar cuz? If so, at first I thought my hair liked it...but then I realized...um...nah. But I LOVE the oil...:yep:

When I do "poo" now; I use a bar that has coconut milk, amla and other ingredients..but I bought awhile back...I can't even find the vendor anymore :(

Off Topic: I wanna give a shout out to Vixxxen who put me onto Vatika oil, Shakikai powder, MegaTek and all them good things waaaaay back...I just didn't use frequently or put to the side...had no idea they would be so "in" now...

I'm agreeing with you 1000% I'm going back to UBG conditioners cause I'm having so many issues with breakage right now. In fact I'm going back to the whole UBH system (book and conditioner) cause my hair is not doing too well. I got side tracked, I LIKE the mixes you have. The peppermint in the conditioner isn't tingly enough for ya:blush::grin:?! The castor oil must be really nice for that lubrication...will be experimenting!

Mixing up my own reconstructor treat: UBH, Aveda DR, Aphogee 2 Minute Intensive Reconstructor

More experimenting to do!

I bought another brand GOOREJ 3-IN-1 Shikakai bar and my hair loves it.
This bar was more moisturing and lathered well and left my hair feeling soft.

Wanted to add Joico Moisture Recovery Shampoo-surprised. Very soft hair.
Joico Moisture Recovery Treatment Balm and conditioner (I mixed them together)-did a cw and wow my hair was silky. I think for now I'm going to just stick with Joico and see how my hair does.

Pantene R & N Breakage Defense Conditioning Mask-I used it with something else but I'm going to make sure I try it alone
Diane Snap On Magnetic rollers- too bad the biggest size is 1 3/4 inches.
B & B growth oil- love the texture and it smells so good.

Revisited Hit:
Going back to roller setting

I also don't think I liked the Chi Infusion by itself so I'm going to mix it with another serum

Hit: Qhemet Amla and Olive Heavy Creme, I've been using it for a while on and off but just recently began to use it regularly and I love how it's working on my ends.

HIT!!!!!!

Joico Daily Care shampoo (formally Kerapro shampoo)

I bought this last night on a whim. It is a conditioning shampoo for normal to dry hair types that contains fatty acids and proteins to condition and moisturize the hair. It smells like spicy banana candy which was a plus.

Its a clear shampoo and it laters pretty well. I whipped it in my hands before applying it, concentrating on my scalp. I only lathered once and once I was done, my hair felt really clean and stronger. It still had softness to it. My conditioner worked much better afterwards and I was surprised at how much more sheen my hair had. I don't think it is strong enough to be a clarifying shampoo despite how well it cleaned my hair but I think I am going to put this into the rotation.

royal spa soft & elegant moisturizing cream

now, i've had this stuff since around november
my cousin gave it to me
and i had given it to my mother
because i didnt really need it
but since i ran out of my regular moisturizer
and my mother hasnt even touched the stuff
i stole some of it

(i mixed this w/....kenra mc. had to do it. couldnt resist. haha)

and the combo moisturizes my hair really well
i was sure this stuff wasnt going to work at all

i was kind of wary of the fact that it has lanolin and beeswax in it
but so far...so good.
my hair is well moisturized

Revist Hit

ORS dry scalp oil- I have been massaging this into my scalp every 3 days since finding my bottle hidden under the sink. Not to thick, not to thin, nice smell and soothes my scalp.

Hit

Coconut oil- I haven't used coconut oil in a long time and thanks to ClassyND :yay: I have some to try again. I love how it kinda feels cooling to my scalp and I only need a small tad. This big jar is going to last me a long time. Thanks again Classy!

HIT:

KeraCare Hydrating Detangling Shampoo - Once I was done washing my hair I could not believe how it felt. It was SO soft and had tons of moisture, it felt like I did not need to condition.

KeraCare Humecto Conditioner - I used this to deep condition and my hair felt like butter. I did not want to wash it out. It made my hair so easy to detangle.

I have found my staple shampoo and conitioner......:woot:

I have been itching to buy the bold. I was going to use it on my skin. Did you use it on your hair???

Yeah, I got the kit from Sephora before Christmas and it had an insert that suggested using it as a prepoo so I did that first and loved it. I also used it as a moisturizer on dry hair and it was still good. I like the conditioner, too. I have very sensitive skin so I am nervous about using it. We'll see...

MISSES :nono:

NO hair2heaven
NO hairveda
NO Qhemet Amla & Olive Heavy Cream - sold out

Just can't win :ohwell:
At least we have shescentit.com.

Use it on my face daily, and in my hair rinse (citric acid & water) any time I happen to have a full tank and am messing with my hair at the same time. I was on the edge after reading that 'My Beauty Secret' thread, but after having tried it - I'm sooooooo down with it. My skin is SO much clearer, and the skin 'flakes' I used to deal with on my hairline are gone, gone, gone and my scalp always feels so tingly and clean and tight afterwards - like an astringent, without the dryness.

 So I guess that would be a hit of 2008!

Well I am relieved to know i have a counterpart on the 'masta pee' rinse. :rofl:cause i have to tell you, since i started doing the rinse on my hair, my itches have gone from digging like i strike gold to non existent. sometimes out of habit i may just scratch my scalp, but it ain't itchy...my hair also feels really soft after the pee rinse and not stripped after i shampooed with sulfur 8. yes it did tingle on the scalp and then i rinsed it out.... it's that clean feeling....

Hmmm... aruyeveda, rinsing with pee and using MN... Rapunzel look out!!!:curtain:
BTW.. pee is not bad, if you drink enough water there's no smell. well if you eat alot of asparagus... wooo!

Misses:

Phytojoba Mask-
Lovely smell, but didn't compare to my other deep conditioners. Not a lot of slip. Not worth the $$ IMO

Carols Daughter Kizzi Pomade- Did not do much for the slicking, controlling and keeping my hair shiny. Actually made my hair drier.

On the fence:
Phytojoba shampoo-
Not bad-but I dunno if it's worth the price. Thank goodness I got to try these with their sample pack :yep:

Hits:
Elasta QP Intense conditioner as a leave-in ,this might even replace my Lacio Lacio  but i'll try it a few more times just in case before I do that.
I also like it as a moisturizer and I add some oils to it and use it as a hairdress. Now this will take the place of my Giovanni direct because I use Giovanni that way

Yogart,Buttermilk powder and Coconut milk for straightening new growth. This worked like a charm it looked like I had a re-touch it was so straight but not a limp or bone straight I love it:yep:.

HIT

Better Botanicals Herbal Hair Oil - I used it as a pre-poo and even after airdrying, my hair is very soft.
