Coconut milk pre poo

Miss

Joico Silk Result: After having used my coconut milk mix for my pre poo which straightens my curl pattern and reduces the knots I used to have, when I used this for a cowash it totally reversed my coconut milk pre poo results. I hate the way my hair felt so I had to wash my hair again within two days. Its a shame this condition is new and I have just spent £16 on the duo and now i dont want to touch it. I also have the moisture recovery which I have yet to use...I hope it works better than this silk nonsense.

...I just bought a gallon of this during a crazed moment late at night...

*watching*

Hit:
Qhemet Burdock Root Butter cream: co-signing, I am extremely impressed with Qhemet moisturizers. After revisiting the Amla & Heavy cream, falling in love w/the Olive Cream Conditioner & Detangler, I have gotten around to trying my Burdock Root Butter Cream and love it as well. This stuff is really nice and creamy, perfect on ends for straight styles and it doesn't weigh hair down either. Qhem is the gold standard for moisturizing leave-in creams. :yep:

revisited hit:
Dabur Vatika oil as a pre-poo: I didn't care for this as a sealant but I like it for pre-poo conditioning.

Dammit!

and co-signing on the Vatika as a pre-poo...:yep:

:nono::nono::nono: Mona! :lachen: And you want to talk about me

Aww Mona, it will be okay..... Win or lose, we will live to shop another day

It's all good...that gallon will last me a good while...I'm sure it'll be good :yep: -- just need to restock on my Pantene and WRTC.

I'm good for AVEDA for at least six months...

Once I stock up on some other items...it's on and popping for bootcamp this year...it's not a game...

Hit: I was debating whether or not to label this one a hit or neutral, but I ultimately like Nexxus Humectress. I used Nexxus Botanoil mixed with Salerm Balancing shampoo to clarify, Nexxus Keraphix, and then Humectress. I got a little slip, lost very little hair, and got shiny, full hair as a result. My hair seems pretty moisturized, too. I still ended up mixing the Humectress with Aubrey's Honeysuckle and Rose. If I don't find another Mizani Hydra/Kerafuse replacement, I can ultimately live with the Nexxus combo. I can't wait to report back on Kerasilk, Joico, Elucence, KeraCare Intensive Conditioner, and maybe Affirm Sustenance or Positive Link. Shoot, I'm worrying about pjism-- after these, there's nothing left to try, lol!!!

HIT:
Victoria's Secret So Sexy Nourishing Conditioner for dry/damaged hair

Took advantage of the 3 for $21 sale. Applied on dry hair; sat under a conditioning cap (no heat) and kept on for 1 hour. I rinsed thoroughly and then did an oil rinse using EVOO. I airdryed to damp, applied FHI Hot Sauce and used my blow dryer to smooth the cuticle, but not to dry.

This product added incredible shine and weight to my fine/thin hair. Very nice. The scent, though lovely, began to get overwhelming. Oh, and I used a very generous amount so that could have contributed ya think? :yep: :lachen:

You could mix it. I don't like it alone either. I mix it with my Fantasia IC Straigtening serum. I love it when I used it that way. ALONE was a big :nono:

HIT:
*Using Vatika oil in my henna mix. NICE - it gave the paste a nice consistancy and made it easier to apply.

MISS:
*Vatika oil for my daily oil. are they kidding me with that bottle? I cannot see myself trying to squeeze that out onto my hands everyday. it is great in my henna, though.

HUGE MISS:
*Swastik Shikaiki shampoo soap :nono:

Swastik-Shikakai-Soap-Big.gif

OKAY first I did not notice the name when I saw it in the store. I just saw "Shikaiki soap". Now I know the swastika is not bad on its on, but you all know what it represents to us. Anyway, I opened the bar and it has a big imprint of a swastika and the words "Shikaiki Soap" on it. It is not so "vanilla" looking as it was in the wrapper that also had a nice picture of a pretty Indian woman on it. Anyway, guess what? I tried it anyway. I HATED IT! I hope that the other brand of shikaiki soap is not like this one! It smelled like old lady vintage avon soap and it made red suds that got all over my shower. It took a long time and several latherings to get enough suds to get all over my hair. My hair did not feel clean and soft, but coated. 2 thumbs down! This has turned me off of shampoo bars. I will stick with my shampoos. (I threw out the soap!)

Hit - Keracare Humecto (my new baby daddy :lachen:) - I purchased this months ago, but only used it once due to problems with PJism :look:. I recently started using it again, and it's does wonders for my hair during my stretch (I'm currently 10 weeks post). It's very moisturizing, and provides my hair with lots of slip...It actually makes my hair easier to detangle than than silicon mix.

Miss - Kenra MC - I really wanted to like this. I love the smell and the thick consistency, but it did not leave my hair soft, and made my hair hard to detangle. I used this for about 3 weeks to give it a fair chance, and I even clarified first...still didnt like it...oh well :ohwell:

Really? That is too bad. Kenra is really good. How did you use it? I suggest you clarify before and I can't leave Kenra on for hours like other conditioners. I found that 10 minutes w or w/o hit is the best for my hair. I found this out the hard way. HTH.

I really don't like it either, though. I don't think it is for everyone.

honeydew, thanks for the info on that particular brand of shikakai soap!! I never noticed that Nazi symbol before!! :nono:
I've seen this brand of soap at the Indian store---and may have even used it before. :ohwell: But thanks for the heads up! I'll just have to use another brand....

Hits:
-Dabur Amla Oil
I used it as a pre-poo, loved it. I even like the smell, It's different.
-Nirmal Shikakai Soap
It gave me lots of suds and left my hair feeling moisturized and strong.

Revisted Hit:
-CON green label shampoo
It stopped working for me a couple of months ago. I decided to buy a fresh bottle and give it another try... it worked great again, yaaay

On The Fence
-Dabur Vatika Oil
When I got it home, it was so stiff I had to microwave it a little bit just to get it out the bottle. I pre-poo'ed with it. It was ok, but I liked the amla oil better. Then I've realized that it expired in September :ohwell: It has a funny smell, kind of like coconuts but eh...not quite. I may go back and see if I can get a new bottle.

Past Hit, slowly turning into a miss:
-Kenra MC. It's not working as well as it used to.

I felt the same way about Vatika Oil. I just bought some earlier this week. After it was in my house a few days, it was softer. I still don't care for how hard it is to get out of the bottle. It was WONDERFUL in henna, though. If you use henna with hot water, the Vatika oil will melt right in there. It made the paste easier to rinse.

Oh I almost forgot a MISS turned HIT:

Aveda DR Treatment. I think my hair does not like it left in longer than the few mins that that it says to used. before I used it as deep condition and my hair felt hard. Today i did it as a 3 min rinse out after henna and before my regular conditioner and it was NICE! It tamed my hair a bit. I am not sure I will repurchase because I still don't think it is worth the price, but now I can get some use out of the bottle I purchased on Ebay.

BIG HIT: Jane Carter Nourish & Shine :love4:

I started using this just a couple of weeks ago. No more dry ends and it makes my hair feel so good and healthy and soft. When I use it after a wash and go my hair dries curly and defined without any frizz.

Hit:
Mizani lye relaxer (mild)

My last relaxer was mizani butter blend, it was nice but I found the whole kit a little on the expensive side. So I waited and waited then finally decided to use the mizani lye, i've used this in the past but wasn't overly impressed by the results. This time around I am in love with my hair, it is bouncy and silky and soft.
My hair dresser left the relaxer in for about 22 minutes, rised, applied keraphix (old formula, I have some left), left it on for about 8 minutes, poo with mizani nuetralizer, applied mizani butter blend Microfusion Penetrating Conditioning Treatment (I have a bottle of this left from the kit I used previously) and the Kenra intensive emollient treatment (I have a tube of this also). She massaged the mix in, no heat, rinsed, applied leave in and rollerset.

Miss:
chi silk infusion

I don't like this as a heat protectant or a serum, so once I am finish with this bottle I will not repurchase. Instead, I used this on my previously relaxed hair during the relaxing process.

I am so in love with my hair!
