Giving up the relaxers has done WONDERS...WONDERS, I SAY! for my hair. I got my first blow-out today (simma down nah! Pics on the way! Yay!) and because the only way I've known my straight hair is as relaxed, it's still weird. My hair is thin, fine, yet very dense so it has the ILLUSION of thickness but it's not, relaxed or natural, but from this blow-out, my hair looks stronger, definitely healthier....

RR I wanna seeeeeeeeeee! My hair looks exactly the same way it did when I was relaxed. I wish it was thicker. :ohwell: It is 100% healthier though.

My hair is thicker but still fine...can't explain it but its much more fuller now than when I was relaxed and much more healthier.

Yes my hair is definitely thicker. When I relaxed it was really thin, but now I have to section my hair to comb it thoroughly when I wash. I love the thickness of my hair though.

Your hair is so beautiful, you make me want to go al natural!!!!

First Post

I've gone from natural to relaxed to natural to relaxed and back to natural. I was always one of those girls who had see through relaxed hair and yes, going natural has made it much thicker and fuller.

Well...welcome to LHCF, jennifermb!

At first, I thought you were a previous poster here named: jennifermd, so you are going to get a few old folks confused....:lachen:

Yes. I used to could wrap a ponytail holder around my ponytail 20 times but now I can only wrap it about 3 :lachen:

Even though I'm transitioning, I can already see that my hair will be thicker as a natural ... about twice as thick to be exact. I will have to take some photos and put them in my Fotki to show the difference between my thick natural hair and my anorexic, puny, pathetic relaxed ends. It's sad ... for real.

Yes! My hair was so flat, thin and see through when I was relaxed that people would offer me advice. Now I've got more hair in one section of my natural hair than I had on my entire relaxed head. I've got pictures to prove it! My hair was chewed up :nono:

Well, sure my hair looks thicker in it's natural state but after straightening my hair, it's still not thicker.

Yes , quite a bit. If u look in my fotki my pressed and relaxed hair were much thinner than my natural hair. Now that I only flat iron every now and then it has much more fullness and bounce when straight.

I think that not having a relaxer anymore has allowed my hair to thrive. The thickness i think was stripped, and my relaxed hair was thinner, not to mention i shed much more having relaxed hair, so yeah going natural my hair is as thick as it wants to be!

My hair was much thinner than it is now with chemical color in it, and it was even THINNER back when I had a perm... here's a comparison of the difference in thickness....The first was Nov 06, and the second is Aug 07.....
