I am gonna have to do this because I dont have a dryer....yet. Has anyone else ever done this and if so how did it turn out?

when i was relax that was the only way i did my hair was air dry i use lacio lacio the best stuff in the world for me. get it at the BSS its a leave in:yep:it alway came out looking and feeling great. if you look at some old post may be under airdrying you will see a lot do it and what they use. i can wait to do it again:yep:i love no heat:lachen::lachen::lachen:happy growing

Oh yeah I've done this...I do it now...I have a dryer and sometimes I still airdry my hair...especially if I have a lot of time on my hands...it still will turn out very nice...:yep:

I don't have a dryer yet either (it's on the Christmas wish list ) but I airdry all of my rollersets and they come out beautifully. I also have a hand held dryer that I put on a cool setting and run it over my hair just to start the drying process. But it should be fine... good luck!

On average, how long does it take. Because i tried it once on a sat morning (in the fall). It did not dry till the next day and even then it was still a bit damp.

It probably depends on the size of the rollers u use...I think the larger rollers dry faster. Im curious as to whether any texlaxers have success with air drying and getting a smooth look. I know Isis does it, but she likes to keep the texture in her hair with most her styles which is very pretty, but sometimes I want that sleek slook and it seems the only way to get it is if I sit under the dryer because the heat smooths it out.

Hi Ladies...

Fellow texlaxer speaking. I rollerset last night and airdryed. The results were pretty good. As good as it gets with me flat ironing. I used all sorts of rollers (I bought a starter pack at Walgreens). It took me about 2 hours to airdry, I used the majority of the larger rollers. To finish it off, I saran wrapped.

I have a straight textured look. AKA semi poof:lachen:

I do it all the time and my hair turns out just fine. I also have a hooded dryer, but sometimes when I have errands to run I airdry.

hmmmm. maybe that's why. My hair all around takes longer than usual to dry even why i airdry without rollerset, that's still about 5 hours. I don't know why it does, i'm barely SL

Your hair looks nice and thick so Im sure thats why it takes longer too. My hair isnt even that thick and it will take several hours to try unless I have it loose hanging down to dry. If I was doing a wash n go and was going to be outside it would dry pretty quickly within a couple of hours.

oh i see, thanks for clarifying. :)

takes forever but it turns out great! soft hair with smooth cuticles, if you have the time it's a great thing to do.

With long hair, airdrying on conventionnal rollers lasts forever (more than 10 hours as for me)
I use from time to time Phat Boys rollers, which bring the time down to 4 hours. But theses rollers are so HUGE (5 inches diameter) that you can barely do anything practical during this time, but use your computer. No need to say that you cannot dare to go in the street with those monsters

I agree the results are very silky, but I only did this up to shoulder length when my hair could dry overnight. Longer than that and it takes too long for me. You can probably save by time by spending about 15-30 minutes under the dryer then air drying the rest of the way.

i ONLY airdry...overnight is the key for me - i suffer greatly not being able to get a good sllep, but the curls last for days.
