:nono:...the ends of my hair are starting to look like very fried and red (as you can tell in the photo)...I know that I have a few split ends, they tend to have a kinky look...but I'm not cutting my hair anymore...what can I do?

I have the SAME problem. I think it's a sign of overprocessed hair. I plan on trimming away my ends because they are thin. If it's the color that bothers you you can always put in a rinse.

When you get a relaxer do you overlap a lot? Do you put some conditioner or oil on your ends to protect them?

Don't wallbash yourself lol. Your hair looks full in your avi. My ends are so bad I have to cut off at least 4 inches due to overprocessing.:ohwell:
lol...i'm not sure if I over processed or not...before this last relaxer this past July...I have not had one since...???? I wanna say Feb07??? maybe before that...It could be my chea flat iorn...lol... i dunno

My ends are reddish. I coat my previously relaxed hair before a touch-up, but I just started doing that last year after years of relaxing. Also, I used to relax every 6 weeks. :nono:

First I coat it with Creme of Nature Porosity Corrector - if you can't find this then Roux Porosity Control Conditioner is basically the same thing. Then I coat with whatever oil I have - grapeseed, jojoba, etc.

:grin:Step one-step away from the flat iron. Step 2- dc with a moisturizing and/or strengthening condish w/heat 2x weekly. Step 3-Dust 1/8th inch every 6 weeks to gradually trim fried ends.

You will eventually have to trim them they are damaged. They will break off on their own and cause split ends so you need to gradually trim. Then after that let the heat go and baby your ends.
