My bun isn't working anymore. When my hair was shorter, I made a single braid at the nape, and then rolled it under and pinned. I can't roll it under and pin anymore because it's too much hair. It doesn't look like a bun, but looks like a folded under braid. How can I adjust it?

This is what it used to look like...

Have you tried wrapping the braid around and securing with a scrunchie? Works like a charm for me when I do it:yep:

Thanks for responding miss_cherokee. The thing is I don't like scrunchies and ponytail holders. In the past, they ALWAYS caused my breakage. So I stay away from them. I also don't like them to show in my hairstyle.

instead of the scrunchie, try a nice barrett or comb. or start your braid a little higher.

Hey! I dont like hair elastics either....what I do is twirl my hair around into a loose bun and pin it with a couple of those hair pins that look like open bobby pins or u could use good hairday pins. I dont buy them bc they are pricey if u lose them all the time like I do...I can get a big pack of the regular hairpins and they last a long time. U can see my bun in my fotki..its the one where Im wearing a scarf headband...I use the hairpins when I do the loose french roll too. HTH!

I understand. I use the black scrunchies by Scuncii. In fact, the bun in my siggy is being held together by that same srunchie:yep::yep: I don't do ponytail holders like the bands and all that stuff. Now those really do cause breakage to my hair. Maybe someone else will chime in and provide some advice:perplexed

Cute! I like that! I'll have to play around with it to find my own new niche. Thanks!
