Finally Managed to Get My Hair In A Bun

This bun is a week old. It was done on a sweated out flat iron job

I made a loose pony, and grabbed good size pieces (4 in total, sometimes 6), and roll the ends under and pin them down. It tends to look better to me with less pieces. And then I fan them out so there are no gaps. I will pin down any fly away pieces or to close any gaps.

I take the pony down most nights, spray the ends with chi keratin, apply some leave-in, and seal with my castor oil. throw a baggy on it, and hit the sack....MOST nights.

However, like last night, I tied a scarf around my head and went to be with the bun still sitting pretty. There is no tension, I don't play well with headaches.

Here are the pictures. I will be rocking this week old bun until thanksgiving. For thanksgiving, I will probably do a braidout to give myself a change of scenery. I would do one for this upcoming week, but I have a lot going on school wise, and I don't have the time. Hopefully, by wearing this bun until new years, I will get back to my beloved APL that I just kissed goodbye

I like it. Buns that are pinned look better than the bun former, to me, because they aren't so "perfect". I couldn't figure out how to make mine look good until your thread. I will try this next week. Thank you!

Thanks ladies. I used to try the whole sock thing, but I always had pieces sticking yo and the sock would show
And it would be so much tension on my hair line to secure the bun. This is the best alternative. Plus it allows me to fake the fullness, and length that other longer haired ladies have.

Curlybeauty OK, first of all, "finally" is misleading. I was expecting to see a teeny weeny bun from hair just BARELY making it...and that you probably couldn't blink. Your bun is HUGE...so WTH were you waiting for???

Secondly, why the tears? Why did you kiss APL goodbye previously? Sorry if you already shared. I have a memory like a sieve and there are too many women on here for my head to keep up with what's going on on everyone's head.

And I was waiting for a break from school to do a mini update I've had no time for leisure lately .

And I was literally kissing APL, not full, but hell I was claiming it but then I went to get a touch-up and now i'm back to SL. I'm really pissed cause I feel like I will never make it with her. So she wont be cutting my hair anymore . So hopefully by January or something, I will be back in action with the APL crew......I really want to be BSL by X-mas next year , so I will be trying to snag an appointment with Reniece or somebody...

Great bun! That's how I do mine too, I don't use any socks or fillers either, it looks more natural that way.
