So after reading in a couple of threads that people have found ladies on LHCF possible "exggerating" about their inches, I was wondering if any of you really thinks this happens or is it an urban hair myth? I mean, I know guys lie about the inches all the time, but the ladies? So, does it happen? Have you seen it happen? And if you believe so, how did you know? How did it make you feel?

P.S. This does not include pics. that might have been a "joke" about growth obtained from mixing horse ca ca and monkey ball hair sweat. LOL.

ETA: Thanks Poohbear...I know that women measure at different places and have different length toroso and what not. What I'm talkin about is wearing a weave or wig and claiming it as your own.

Are you talking about inches as in hair length?

You have to keep in mind that the ladies here measure their hair in different ways and from different starting points:

1. some measure from hairline to ends

2. some measure from crown to ends

3. some take sections of their hair and measure from root to ends and state their hair length as an approx. range (this is what I do given that my hair isn't straight)

4. and there may be some other way out there that ladies measure their hair. :spinning:

And you also have to keep in mind that everyone has different shaped heads and different head sizes. And some ladies have short necks, long necks, short torsos, and long torsos, and so on.

Nope Poohbear...talking about claiming a weave or wig as your own.

I am entirely too lazy to measure my hair, lol. I just go by landmarks...brastrap, 1st roll of backfat, 2nd roll, waistlength, etc. Works like a charm!:lachen:

eh, does it really matter?
:nono:

do you.

It was just a question...just curious. I was reading a couple of post and the posters claimed that they knew this to be true. eh, does it really matter? Well...yes an no. I don't think that I care that/if people do this...THEN AGAIN...if one day I found out that Macherieamor's goregeous head was a cleverly concealed lacefront and that she was really a man with a jujube fro...I might be a little hurt. I mean, all these years my napps are thinking that they want to be like hers and that they can be all to have it dashed away. I mean, what would I tell them at night when I went to condition them in?

:lachen:...too funny!

i don't know about LHCF... but of course women do it IRL. my sis is one of them. when she has her fusion extensions in, and strangers ask her if it's hers, many times he tells them yes. she says it's easier than trying to explain the fusion process, and she hates when spiteful girls ask her and she tells them it's fake and they give her that superior "oh i KNEW no black girl could have hair that long" look.

me on the other hand... i could care less about all that. if i'm wearing my wig and someone compliments my hair, i smile and say, "thanks, but it's a wig." what cracks me up is, if it's a girl she will 9 times out of 10 shush me and tell me i should keep it to myself and try to pass it off as mine. i usually look at her crazy and ask, "why?" :lachen:

Well, as far as lying about hair growth....what would be the point? I don't know anyone here who does it, and I can certainly say that I wouldn't fake it with a weave or wig, because my goals are for ME. Why would I lie to myself? We are anonymous after all....it'd be pointless.

LMAO!!!!

I don't think you have to worry about that. Macherie's hair is real. I've seen her comb it online!!! (unless it was some special fx trick)

If people want to lie about their hair growth, who cares? They're just being ***** and freaky. I mean, why lie to people about hair growth? Who are you trying to impress? It just wouldn't make sense to me.

Just know that you CAN grow long hair.:yep:

PS- you can PM me if you have any specific person in mind.. i won't tell :sekret:

LOL @ the bolded. Nope, I'm getting ready to get my hair braided and was using the search feature and found this comment three times in three differnet threads and I was like, "WHAT?" I mean, I send friends and family who can't wait for me to prove them wrong to this forum, so I would hate for one of my weave/lace front spottin friends to catch one and call me out. I do believe that I can grow a healthy head of hair and my hair has made SIGNIFICANT progress since I joined the forum.

To answer your questions, I do think some ladies have lied about the inches they get, for whatever reason I don't know (I know that not everyone does this, but some ppl do). For example, if you are claiming you get 1+ inches per month for several months, but your hair had to be cut due to some mysterious mishap, I think you're suspect. But honestly at the end of the day, I don't pay attention to it and I don't care because I don't get 2 inches in a month, I gotta work with the 1/4 inch I get :wallbash:.

Also, I wouldn't care too much if I found out that someone who's hair inspired me turned out to be a fraud :lachen:. I think I've learned enough on here and I know: a.) that my hair will grow and b.) what it takes to reach my goals.

I guess my point is that I'm already convinced that I can achieve my hair goals, so the exaggerating goes in one ear and out the other. Hair grows regardless, it just takes time and patience for most of us.

ETA: oh, I think you're jus talking about weaves...if that's the case I still feel the same way...

Ohhhh ok! :Blush2: Thanks for letting me know.

I don't really think about whether or not someone is lying about their hair not being a wig or weave. I can usually tell a wig/weave from someone's real hair but I don't try to instigate.

I consider myself a lacewig connoiseur :look: and have yet to see anyone on LHCF front like a wig or weave is theirs. Its really not that serious for most

lol, same here. I'd mess up the measurement and be like 20 feet or some junk.

OP, I've read references to people lying in the past and Im sure it does occur.

ha i remember the one lady who came here with hip or was it tail bone length hair, who eventually turned out to be fake. but i dont recall anyone else.

OT: I know, dumb to be off topic in my own post but your hair looks gorgeous. How do you prevent your hair from frizzing?

okay, 2 out of the 1000s of peoples that are here.:perplexed

i mean, i'd too would be devestated if i found out sylver/supergirl/kini/(insert every LHCFballer here) decided to upload pics, and one of the pics showed them bald; applying the glue to their lacefronts... but it ain't gonna happen!

I think we're afraid of not being able to achieve these goals and try to find excuses as to why we can't but the proof is in the puddin. it's not like these ladies woke up and their hair grew overnight. Some of them have been working on their photoblogs for the past 4/5 years!!! :)

We need to out some people. I do think there are some people who call themselves 100% natural and are actually texlaxed... just like some folks tilt their hair back to make the hair look longer...

Not because I'm mad, I just think it would be funny. I feed off of drama sometimes when it gets quiet... Like when the Shima shananagins simmered down, I was aching for someone to come on the site with a sew in talkin about they're at ankle length. I wanna see someone claim to be a 2a and then come out of a HYH challenge as a 4a... now THAT would be hilarious:yawn:

i just wish someone would get on here with paint brush editing raving about how she got to knee cap length from chin length in 2 months so we could laugh it up.

but for real though... I do think some folks lie on here just like they do in real life. ...:look:

Hey Eiano,

This thread was in no way meant to be an LHCF bash. I believe that 99.99% percent of the woman on here worked for everything they got. And I am certainly not looking for an excuse to hinder my greatness...or the the greatness of my napps if you want to give them the credit:yawn:...but I was curious when I saw these repeated claims and that is all this post was meant to be...a curious question being expressed.
