just wanted to share :)

Lovely sheen!

Are you natural?

If so, is this a braidout?

thanks! ;) yes i am natural. this is my shake and go, freshly detangled this morning (dry in this pic though) and i didn't brush my leave-in thru today... that usually promotes my coil definition. but unfortunately i'm a server so i have to wear my hair pulled back 5-6 days a week... so i just detangle once a week to keep my hair from matting and say screw the extra styling. :ohwell: it looks longer when it's less coily though... that's a plus!

3c?

It looks sooooo pretty.
I used to serve and work as a security guard, both jobs required having your hair pulled back. It was soooo annoying! I have a little thinning on my temples and I'm trying to counteract it now!

i'm not really sure... i don't like Andre's system, LOL. i swear my hair is a weird 3c/4a hybrid. it will look like one but behave like the other... :spinning:

but yeah, all this pony-puffing is driving me nuts. i'm waiting on the weather to cool down and i will start my CNG routine until springtime. at least with braids my hair will be protected when i pull it back.

That's a nice shake n' go. It looks like a braid out. I love Mayo treatments, too. It gives my hair such a boost.

<<<<Newbie here...what are your egg and mayo treatments?? I'm currently transitioning and I'm 10 months post relaxer, but I have to admit that I haven't really been really conditioning my hair. But since I found this site, I'm trying to get all the info I can.

basically i take 1 cup of mayo (which already has egg in it) and blend in 2 large eggs. after i shampoo my hair, i add the mayo/egg mixture and leave it on for a few minutes, then rinse and IMMEDIATELY deep condition. i use V05 Moisturizing Milk Strawberries and Cream because it smells good and gets the mayo/egg smell out. :) the smell isn't bad... henna was much stronger and took much longer to wash that scent out! :lachen:

Hey Ladylibra, your hair looks great. I actually have been using eggs and mayo for over three years and I have to tell you that my hair is stronger than a rope. :yay:

awesome! that is mainly why i started... cuz i want long, strong hair. the shine is of course an added benefit. how often do you do your treatments?

Do you use any ole brand of mayo from the store?

This is what I want to know. B/c at first I thought the OP was talking about ORS hair mayo mixed w/an egg, but now I think she is talking about regular ole mayo. I don't think I want to try regular mayo. The smell will make me feel sick. The OP's hair very pretty though. :)

yep... mayonaise. the Wal-Mart off-brand kind (cuz i'm cheap :look: ). i suppose one could just use eggs - still full of protein and cholesterol, good for the hair. the mayo has ACV which prolly accounts for the strong smell. but i don't leave it on for hours or anything. it's stinky but i used to use stinky ol' Dark and Lovely to relax my hair so... i can tolerate a little mayo. :spinning:
