I stared at a relaxer box for 45 minutes in Walmart today.

There was a lot of pacing, people were looking at me crazy and rightfully so, but the good thing is, I didn't buy it. Whew!

Just thought I'd share that. :lol

While I was transitioning I even got to the register with one and told the lady that I changed my mind. My hair was looking a hot mess that day and I know she was thinking "you need it chile" but I just couldn't do it....So I feel you girl...nothing like walking around Sally's for a hour thinking about getting a relaxer.... LOL

Yeah, I've thought about it, but I feel like I've come so far. I refuse to throw these past nine months away. I don't know that I'd transition again, anytime soon, if I did get a relaxer.

Glad to hear that you remained stong!

LOL!!!

I've stared at hair products like that before....but not that long!! funny!!

Girl, I hear you on that. I have gone so far as to make an appointment to get a relaxer and then chickened out. I figure I have come this far...it can't possibly get any worse:nono:

You ladies that are natural I just commend you for all you hard work and efforts on being natural. It's alot of hard work and there are times i wish i was natural for the styles i think i can of course but it's long process to transition and there will not be a BC evea.

That's what made me leave. I haven't had a perm in almost two years and its a little past APL and about 4 inches from BSL. I would feel like quite the fool throwing all that way just because I'm getting sick of the puff. It looks cute on me, but I miss swinging my hair around.

I really, really, really want hair like that Sunsilk commercial with that girl who messes up her neck. :lachen:

Yay!! :yay: I've been there myself with that Just For Me kiddie texturizer. You did good.

Well I think this post is sooo cute. Even though I'm no longer natural (after six years natural, I texlaxed!). I understand the angst that you went through and I'm glad that you're happy with the hair you have already.
Me on the other hand...well let's just say that if I had known about a texlax (conditioner/relaxer/silkener) then I would have never gone natural in the first place. I call my hair 4a/b but I really believe that I'm 4Z - no joke :nono:.

Anyways when I was natural I always wore it flat ironed, so this is just the best of both worlds for me - less heat, straight hair with the same thickness of a press. I love it! I call my texlax - hair heaven.

You hang in there. I know you'll reach your goal! :yep:

I do that in Sally's to and they keep coming to me like, "Can I help you?" And they don't know I'm sitting up reading the back of every product and mentally analyzing what I should buy.

 @ the bolded part. I'm glad you resisted though.

I do the same thing. They know me now, so they leave me alone while I compare and contrast.:lachen::spinning:

That which does not RELAX you makes you stronger!:lachen:

Fight the powers that be!

Hang in there lady, we all get weak and weary but continue to fight the good fight! :yay:

This is so funny! I commend you for not giving in to the "creamy crack." I went so far as to buy a "Just for Me" for my DD after a particularly difficult hair session. I brought it home, opened it up, read the directions, came to my senses, then hot glued it closed and returned it to WalMart!

Lawd, you just helped me girl. My hair is snappy on the nappy! I want a relaxer, but have come too far! I will throw a wig on!

Thanks for being strong for us weak ones.

I am a firm believer in positive reinforcement, buy conditioner or try a new style to appreciate the versatility of your natural hair:yep:
