Which one do you think provides you with the most ever lasting and quality of moisture?

A cream moisturizer?-Examples; ORS olive oil lotion, Profective breakfree, BB Castor Oil, Sunsilk TLC cream, cheapie cream conditioner, etc.
OR
A spray moisturizer?-Examples; Dove Moisture Mist, S-curl, a home made mix, African Royale Braid Spray, etc

Why?

I notice that a cream works best for my flat ironed hair (I use Sunsilk TLC creme). It gives it more moisture. But I usually use a home made s-curl spray for my protective styles. Just because I am lazy when it comes to moisturizing and that way I can just moisturize, without hardly touching it. But I used a cream today ( Suave Toasted Vanilla and Sugar) and I loved it. But I know I won't continue use because I am too lazy to do it everyday.:look:

What about you ladies?

I voted for the spray moisturizer. I've tried Dove Moisture Mist and it was ok, now I use Optimum Care Leave in and I love it. I use it on waet and dry hair and never have to worry about it being dry.
Whhen I dd use cream moisturizers they always weighed my hair down and caused breakage so I took the advice from the ladies here and just switched to a spray leave in which I would have never tried had it not reccomened. So spray is the best for me now.

Spray.

Sprays seem to penetrate better. My hair likes lots of water. The creams I've tried seem to penetrate, but actually end up sitting on my hair. If I use a cream, I have to add water then cream or I end up w/a greasy mess.

I use both, I spray my hair first then use the cream to keep my hair smooth when I pin my hair up. My hair is always soft.

I usually will use a cream moisturiser (BB castor oil) the day I wash and flat-iron/rollerset. And during the week, I will use a spray moisturiser (Dove Mist) for upkeep.

Cream leave in for me. But thats only because the only spray leave in I have used has been S-Curl. That wasnt the best for me though.

I am willing to take recommendations though

I notice a lot of you are using the word "leave-in." I always considered them two seperate things.

Do you ladies consider leave-ins and moisturizer the same thing?

I have noticed that many ladies here use a traditional leave in as a daily moituriser e.g. Neutrogena Triple Moisturiser silk touch cream leave-in. I guess it would work since it's a water-based leave-in.

I use a homemade scurl spray too. I feel it gives a lot more moisture than creams so that's why I use it.

I straighten my hair on Monday: rather is be rollersetting, maxiglide, yodda yodda: so I need to use Dove Mist or UBH Dew Sprays cause it doesn't way my hair down or collect a lot of dust

When I baggy my hair on thursday: hands down I need creme moisturizer: I use CareFree Curl Gold & UBH Lotion.

Oooh okay!:D

When I'm wearing my hair natural, I use a combination of spray and cream. When I'm wearing it straight, I use cream. I seem to get good results with either.

Cream moisturizers- I find that that sprays evaporate too quickly and make my hair harder. Its like once it evaporates then my hair is just as hard, especially the newgrowth as before.

Both. I use a spray moisturizer on my newgrowth while stretching, and a cream moisturizer on the length and ends.

I like cream moisturizers, especially for keeping my ends in shape and for airdrying. I love Hollywood Beauty Carrot Creme for my ends when bunning. Salerm 21 is awesome too.

I voted for creme, but my hair actually reacts best when I use creme mixed with a little liquid leave in or water. Using creme alone doesn't seem to penetrate well at all.

I prefer a spray, cream moisturizers are too heavy for my hair and makes it look greasy and stringy.

I like both. I spray my hair with my own moisturizer and seal my ends with cantu leave in or salerm 21 or africa's best hair mayo.

As a side note, I use to see posts about s-curl all the time, bought some and hated it - but I fell in love with s-curl over the weekend when I was taking my braids out! I saturated each braid with s-curl before taking them out and OMG:eek:. The braids slid out with ease, I was able to comb the hair effortlessly with not one broken hair and minimal shedding and it left my hair UNBELIEVABLY soft and moisturized. This made what I thought was going to be a detangling nightmare a dream come true! I now love this stuff!

Ditto.

Cream moisturizers seem to last longer on my hair and leave it soft.

I don't like scurl alone either. i have to mix it with some other stuff and dilute it some.

I use both. How I choose totally depends on how my hair behaves. Mostly I use S-Curl. But, from time to time, I need something heavier on my ends, so I'll use a cream. During the winter months, I need to use a cream with oil in it, otherwise my hair will dry to a crisp or freeze...or both!

i think it depends on your hair type.

I think spray provides just enough for fine haired ladies without weight that a cream would provide and the opposite is true for thick haired ladies where a liquid spray would not be adequate and the hair would benefit more from a cream

I agree w/you WhitneySimone...I can use the spray, Dove, when I'm wearing a phony pony...or just a wash and go...but I have to have a cream for my rollerset, flatiron, etc...I prefer Elasta QP Mango Butter, Qhemet Alma Heavy Cream, or Profectiv...

I agree with the bolded part. I tend to use creamy leave-ins on dry hair when bunning, and spray leave-ins on wet hair for rollersetting.

I voted for spray but I actually love both. I like spray for my new growth and creme for my ends.
