New hit

Soultanicals Molasses Reconstructor. as a pre poo, lovely coating product, thick enough to weigh down my strands and disappeared with only body heat, slight miss due to the molasses being for far down the list.

Super Wet Gel under Sweet Soul Magic gel, by itself hair was hard but I think coconut in my leave in helped as well. With the SSM gel, hair is super soft, and plush. This rain in NJ is helping as well.

Soultanicals Intense Cowash treatment, yummy , soft hair after rinsing, only downside is the container its in. I hate having to shake product down in that type of bottle, plus its kinda thick so you might use more than you need ( trying to shake it out).

Continued Hit

Bentonite Clay, Aloe Vera, Honey powder, and slippery elm. Ultra moisturizing clay mix.

@shawnyblazes
I'm literally fighting Bear Fruit Hair bottles as we speak.:boxing:

Hits:
Beijaflor creme brûlée - I like how it's a buttery cream and it smells great
Grapeseed oil - I know I'm tardy for this party!

Misses:
Ynobe hibiscus & marshmallow leave in - it did nothing for me
Obia twist whip butter - I didn't like the texture
Sweet nature by Eddie dream cream - it's thick and creamy but I feel like it just made my hair wet and the moisture did not last

I'm not sure about the Coconut & Hibiscus body butter since I've only use it this way after washing as the last step in the l.o.c method so not enough to cause build up, but I've used the C&H lotion as the first step and as a refresher for third and fourth day hair without build up issues.

The lotion is more runny than the hair milk so it absorbs quickly and is very moisturizing, best part is it's a dollar cheaper than the milk and comes in a 13oz bottle while the milk is only 8oz.

I'm in love with the oil because it's thin enough to absorb quickly but thick enough to coat strands so my hair stays soft and shine all day without being weighed down. Also a little goes a long way so I'm going to have this 8oz bottle for a long time. Since I use it sparingly I haven't had any build up. It also works as a pre-poo.

The only down side is the fragrance. They smell just like the rest of the Coconut & Hibiscus line but the scent is stronger than the hair products, so if you're sensitive to fragrances you might want to smell them first.

The Olive & Marula line is for babies so it's not as strongly scented. The lotion is thick and emollient you can feel the moisture and the oils but it's not greasy. A little goes a long way as well. Since my son wets his hair everyday in the shower he hasn't had any build up. I haven't used it enough to notice any build up either. I'm buying a few next BOGO so I can get one for me to use then I'll know for sure if it builds up or not.

I also have the SM Raw Shea, Chamomile & Argan as well as the Red Bush & Babassu baby lotions, but I haven't opened them yet. Once my son finishes the Olive & Marula line I'll try them. The ingredients are almost identical the only difference being the oils in their names so they should work as well as the O&M line. HTH
I use Shea moisture body products on my hair too! My favorite is the superfruit complex lotion and body oil. The body oil is a steal because you only get 2oz of the hair oil for $12 while the body one has almost identical ingredients and is $10 for 8oz. The lotion and the oil together makes the most defined twistouts, however, the moisture only lasts 3 days.
I also use their butters a lot in the winter for sealing.

That is a brilliant idea especially for those of us looking for a moisturizer that doesn't contain proteins. Is the scent strong though? I can't do strong scents.

Though I did see that one of two of the body lotions did contain pantheon and aloe vera.

Best,

The first time I used it on wet hair, the scent was strong, but this was due to user error (I used A LOT, like almost half of the bottle). The next few times I was less heavy handed and the amount of fragrance was no different than other Shea Moisture products. The only thing is that if you're really sensitive to floral scents, then this might be a no-go because it smells like spring flowers with the lotion smelling sweeter than the oil. On dry hair, you could barely smell it though.

I found that I have to layer my SM products to get the moisture to last longer than 3 days. The moisture mists definitely come in handy by day 3.
Have you noticed any build up when using the SM butters? Also I haven't had much luck with the few SM rinse out conditioners I've tried, do you have any suggestion? I've tried the Raw Shea, Yucca & Plantain and Curl & Shine.
Wait a sec, wasn't it called Yucca & BAOBAB?

Ive been using the butters since my big chop a little over two years ago and haven't noticed any build up issues. But I am talking about their Shea butter based body butters (seen also under their Nubian Heritage line) Disclaimer, my hair is pretty hi-po so build up is pretty rare for me as it absorbs products like a sponge lol.

As for their rinse outs, I have given up. I've only tried a handful of them including the pink label, brown label (raw Shea butter something), and the manuka honey one. After having to cut out a giant knot of hair after using the manuka honey one, I think their rinse outs can go kick rocks. I've yet to try one with enough slip to evenly distribute the product through my hair, let alone detangle. Even when I beef them up with oils and slippery conditioners, its a fail. I also cannot live with the lame pump bottles they come in.

I like to use their DCs as rinse outs waaay better. The superfruit and manuka honey DC are staples and I just bought the JBCO one so that may become a staple too. They have more slip and the bigger containers last longer.

Oh and I do usually layer products somewhat, but I have been thinking that I might have to start doubling up on moisturizers the next time I use their body lotions. They seem to just work as an okay moisturizer but a superb styler.

ETA: sorry for the wall of text; can't you the I'm procrastinating lol

Curlmart sending me old a*# products. I remember that several people had an issue with this. I honestly have never had an issue until now. I ordered a jar of Bee Mine's DC and it was as thick as paste, it smelled off, and after comparing it to a jar directly from BM, I knew that it was old. It's a shame because Curlmart has pretty good sales but I have no guarantees that they won't send me an old product. I am truly debating if I will continue to give them my business.

I've been wanting to give BeijaFlor a try but the shipping is laughable. I'll try and snag some Creme Brulee, Cocoa Mango Buttercream and Maracuja Milk next big Hattache sale.

Sorry the SNBE Dream Cream isn't working for you. It's one of my HG moisturizers. Have you tried sealing with the wisdom butter?

Yeah the Ynobe Marshmallow leave-in is meh for me too. I still have half of a 16oz bottle. I don't hate it but. . .I like to use it like I would water when I'm wet styling. I much rather the Sweet Vanilla Hair Milk.

I got a bottle of Eden BodyWorks Peppermint Tea Tree conditioner from Curlmart that was the consistency of play doh. I could hardly get it out of the bottle and what did come out would not emulsify, it just broke down into small globules.
I also got a Camille Rose Almond Jai that was brown like a cappuccino with an espresso shot. In every Almond Jai review I've seen the product is a white cream similar to the Curlaide Moisture Butter.

@NappyKinks
I had the SAME issue with the JAI that they sent me. It performed well so I didn't think anything of it until I bought a jar from Target and it was white..I totally forgot about that. That is strike TWO Curlmart!
The fact that they send out old products and refuse to issue refunds for it really annoys me. I love the fact that they have good sales and I can get multiple brands shipped together, but dang! I don't want old products!

Hey @veesweets! I haven't seen you in a while girl!

This was a hit wash day, probably should've made one post.
New Hit: Sarenzo's Avocado and Honey Leave In
My hair responds very well to this little jewel. Even though it doesn't have Aloe Vera in it (which my hair loves), I used it as my leave in without doing any sealing after washing and my hair is crazy soft.

This line has really been getting a lot of love lately.
@shawnyblazes I cannot remember, so forgive me if I am wrong, but aren't you the brand ambassador? Will she be having a 4th of July sale?

 HIT: Shea Moisture Raw Shea Butter Moisture Retention Shampoo-- I bought the 3oz sample size of this to try out after CON added cones to its Argan shampoo. I REALLY like this. It feels just as good as the original CON poos. Now I don't have to go all over searching for old formula bottles of CON Argan because this will be my new staple poo after this last bottle of CON Green and the two bottles of CON Argan are gone. So it will be a while, but I'll know what to buy--as long as THEY don't change.
