Hit: Me actually being able to tell that my hair has gotten longer! My twists are fatter and longer! YASSSS!

Wasn't there a thread on "the moment you realized your hair was long" or something like that?? I wish I could search but.....

Last month's hit is this month's miss: Flaxseed oil internally

Does nice things for my scalp taken internally but I noticed I was losing weight (yeah, I know..) and that's definitely not something my small frame needs. I read online that it does cause weight loss but a lot of those claims are bogus... this one is definitely not. I've tried it topically before and I liked it so I guess I'll reap the benefits that way, for my hair at least.

@CodeRed What brand of flaxseed were you taking, and how much were you taking a day? Also, how much did you lose? My uh... cousin wants to know. :sekret:

@tiffers

I bought Spring Valley Cold-Pressed Flaxseed Oil 1200 mg/softgel (540 mg Omega-3) from Wal-Mart. There are 200 softgels per bottle and it said to take 1 softgel 2 - 3 times daily with a meal.

Of course, I took it every time I ate because I wanted the hair /skin benefits but my body felt different and low and behold... I'd lost about 5 lbs. It's not a lot of weight but it's good for people who don't want to drastically lose weight really fast. I've been taking it consistently for about 3 weeks, which is about the time I stopped exercising due to my work schedule so I know it's not exercise....

I hope it helps your cousin :wink2:

Edit: I want to add a emphasis to the "consistently" part. I technically started taking it in towards the end of February and I saw scalp benefits then but I starting taking it with every meal about the second week in March. A few days ago is when I started feeling a difference in my body so I weighed myself and I was 5 lbs lighter than I was at the beginning of March.

New Hit:
APB Refresher spray: Yoooo, this stuff is what's up ladies! So, I've been using her new daily refresher spray every other day on my flat twists and my two strands. The last time I used it was last yesterday afternoon. I sprayed a good amount on them. Let me tell you...my hair is soft, soft, soft, and not weighed down at all! The consistency is much lighter than the leave in spray, which is more seurum like. This one is a lot thinner, and when Erica described it to me, at first I was like "meh" because I don't usually like water like leave ins since they leave my hair dry after about an hour. But this still has some type of conditioning properties because my hair feels so nice taking down these twists. I like it better than the leave in spray because it seems I can use it more often when my hair needs a boost. Plus the scent (pearberry) smells sooo darn good...just like its name implies. It's great for summer!

APB Moisturizing Conditioner: I'm feeling the new formulations. It is definitely much better and easier to apply. Nice medium thick lotion consistency and leaves hair very soft and supple feeling. I also liked the pumpkin marshmallow scent.

Continued Hits:

APB Infused oils: What can I say? I use these for everything....sealing, in dcs, HOTs, oil rinsing, prepooing, on my body. I have a ton of different kinds and they're all great and smell so yummy.

APB Hair/Body Buttas: The whipped consistency reminds me of SSI Juicy Berry Buttercream Frosting. Great for sealing because it is very easy to apply, softens hair upon contact, and keeps it moist for days.

SD Mocha Silk Infusion: This always gives me a nice protein boost. Smells like a mocha latte, and so silky and easy to apply to my strands.

Neutral:

Silk Dreams Mocha Silk Hair Milk: This was a nice medium thick lotion consistency. I thought it wouldn't do much for my hair, but it did leave it nice and soft. It was easy to apply and has a neutral smell, which is good because I paired it with stronger smelling products. It was good, but didn't wow me. I have other products that do better.

New Hit : APB's ayurvedic hair mask. Left my hair so soft and revived my curls. Now I see why my oldest son loves it so much.

Hit - Curl rehab moisturising treatment, nice consistently, good slip and left my hair soft

Miss- using half a 8oz jar of the above for the first time for one conditioning session. It's too expensive for me to be doing that. I know I'm heavy handed but I was very surprised at how much I used considering I don't have thick hair.

Hit: Herbal Essences Hydralicious De-damage Boost Shampoo & Conditioner

Tried it when I washed my hair a couple days ago and so far so good!:)

Miss: cantu creamy conditioning lotion

so much buildup smh. I know my hair doesn't like LIs with shea yet i keep trying.
