I took a picture of her hair, but I decided not to post. But her hair looks like crap to me!

The best thing you can do is to set an example with your beautiful hair. Maybe she will come around, maybe she wont. I remember growing up in the '80, having natural hair with maybe one other classmate and hearing the Kunta Kinte and Kizzy jokes thrown at the girl with 4b hair while they themselves were half bald from greasy Jheri curls. Even the adults were down on natural hair and especially locked hair. 27 years later many of them are now natural.
My mother who used to talk about how locked hair was "dirty" back in the day has been locked for 14 years now.
People do have a change of heart.Reminds me of some mixed girl the other day with 2c/3a hair at my job that said her mother (who also is mixed) has "coarse, nappy, ghetto, bad hair compared to her own good hair."
Lol I hadn't heard the term 'bad hair' or 'good hair' in real life since I was in 7th grade so that took me way back to the dark ages..
Smh, I could tell just from the way she said it that it was parroted off from what the mother says about her own hair. So sad.
I was like, "Well, that sucks she feels that way about her own hair; I used to as well. Tell her to check out LHCF, there's tons of relaxed and natural chicks with gorgeous healthy hair that she can get inspiration from. She might realize her kinks and curls are actually beautiful. No one should ever feel like God did them dirty by giving them something less than someone else.. Plus, people give my awesome kinks, which some might call 'nappy, ghetto, bad hair' compliments all the time so,. It ain't all bad.
