Grow an inch per week? Is this real or BS?

Yes I remember when I was a kid people would say to hang your head upside down and brush 50 times to promote growth. My mother would remark that was for white women because after 50 strokes daily, we would brush all of our hair off. LOL

I would like to try it, I mean what's the worst that could happen? Get a head rush perhaps. But I don't need to purchase anything. I'm VERY doubtful if the 1in per week but growth stimulation is always welcome around these parts.

Idk if this is an inch but I did it for 4 mins hanging over my bed for 5 days... at the end i totally got to busy and didnt do it hahaha No oil was used... Just hanging over the bed.

I have a good amount of new growth since I was a couple months post relaxer, I had a noticeably growth spurt every time I woke up though...

Just from eyeballing I would say that is like half an inch. I'm going to try again in the middle of April

"Since the brain is very vulnerable to compromises in its blood supply, the cerebral circulatory system has many safeguards. Failure of these safeguards results in cerebrovascular accidents, commonly known as strokes. The amount of blood that the cerebral circulation carries is known as cerebral blood flow. The presence of gravitational fields or accelerations also determine variations in the movement and distribution of blood in the brain, such as when suspended upside-down."

Started tonight. I'll take a picture in 7 days. See ya'll then!

Why not put oil on your scalp and then do yoga? I was about to try the up-side down head massage thing but it made me dizzy putting my head like that and I can't sit still for that long either. For some reason while doing yoga, I don't get that feeling, and it definitely is invigorating. When I first re-started yoga I got a huge cold because of the shifting of toxins. If it can work that out your system then it can definitely get some follicles stimulated.

Some poses that would stimulate blood flow to the head would be the half-wheel (tire), down-ward facing dog, wide-legged head stand and forward bend, off the top of my head.

I was about to post something similar. I never get a headrush/dizziness from yoga headstands and other similar poses, so I think that's probably a safer way of going about this than just hanging your head upside down any old way. Heck, I've been in a headstand for four minutes straight before and didn't feel the least bit dizzy when I came down.

Im not sure how i feel about this. To me its up there with dirt makes your hair grow.

someone should make a 7 day challenge for it.

I don't think they are similar. Suggesting that dirt makes one hair grow is crazy and has no scientific evidence. There is actually evidence suggesting the opposite -- that dirty hair = dirty scalp = clogged follicles = stunted growth

The only way I would think possibly allowing your hair to go long periods of time without being washed would cause 'increased growth' would be because you might be retaining more hair due to less manipulation in your regimen....

Anywho.....
As for inversion for a marked increase in hair growth, studies suggest that men that have male pattern baldness show much lower blood flow to the scalp, and scientist were able to use a protein that increased blood flow in mice to reverse the balding and even grow faster/thicker hair! (http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2001/02/010215074636.htm)

So in turn one can extrapolate that turning oneself upside down would increase blood flow and thus increase hair growth. (or even doing simple inverted yoga poses or daily scalp massages)

I did see a significant increase in hair growth during that week (I grew .5 inches in a week, when I normally grown .5 inches in a month), and honestly felt no negative effects from the very short time of flipping myself over the bed and will do it again later on this month.

I am not a doctor, but I do study biology and I wouldn't recommend inversion for long periods of time (more than a couple minutes) and it probably wouldn't be safe to do it everyday for an extended period of time (more than several days).

Anyone who wants to try it out should probably be healthy and should even go as far as to consult with one's doctor if they are concerned.:yep:

No i mean they are the same to me because they are both bull crap.

I was just thinking this! I can't do a yoga headstand yet but I can definitely do downward facing dog and forward bends. I'm going to google the half wheel pose. I can do this every night.

HOLY CRAP, THIS WORKS!!!!!!!

First, let me say that I'm a slow grower. It takes me, on average, three months to get from one number to the next on this progress shirt.

The first picture was taken some time in April (last month) so the process that I would have normally had by now would be next to nothing. Sad, but true. The second picture (with all the conditioner in my hair) was taken today. From Saturday to Saturday, one week. :spinning:

I have not changed anything in my regimen. No new vitamins or a change in diet or anything. The only new things I added were massaging NaturelleGrow's Mega Growth Oil into my scalp and following it up with the inversion.

I'm so excited and I'll definitely be doing this every month! :woot: DH took the picture and he said he could have went lower, but my bra strap was in the way and he was in a rush because he was trying to watch the Thunder game

Did u do a headstand or bent over at the waist? I bent at the waist but ddnt feel any blood rushing to my head, therefore should i have attempted a full headstand?

McQuay30 I bent over my bed, at the waist. My legs were straight, and I rested my forehead on the mattress. :yep:

I didn't think it would work, because I didn't feel a head rush or scalp tingling our anything like that. The only thing I really felt was a teeny bit of disorientation while I was doing the inversion. That's why I was so shocked to see how much growth had gotten!

I actually laid on my back and let my head and neck "dangle" off the bed. I did feel the blood after I sat up. Are y'all massaging at the same time? Or just going upside down?

Is that kids hair grow so fast, all the flipping and headstands and stuff. I wonder......ummmmm
